Wonderful store and staff. After NorCalPet’s dog cruelty (caught her red handed the NorCal blond girl employee being sneaky and abusing a small dog she had also muzzled, resulting in vet care/meds) I was very hesitant. After all I had initially trusted that other pet store too and they hurt and scared my dog so badly she had to go to a dr.The staff here has been patient and kind and helpful and both my dog and myself are very grateful. The good humans here are knowledgeable about products and I got all my needs met, from birds to horses to dogs- and their attitudes are slowly rebuilding our trust in people/pet caregivers /businesses after the abuse incident at the former place (BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST WITH YOUR PETS WITH).This review doesn’t do them justice because they’re actually way better in real life. Even the customers were better here. Maybe that’s because they’re all happy and secure in the knowledge that the staff will be honest, kind, and helpful

My dog got skunked last night and today I went into A&L for some skunk shampoo. I was very distressed as I had gotten there at 9 am but the place DOESN'T OPEN UNTIL 10:30 on Fridays ( google times are wrong). I tried to go to the other nearby pet shop and they were very rude and ignored me and didn't even have skunk cleaner. I called A&L and asked if they had skunk shampoo in stock and they did and they had it ready at the counter for me when I came in. Both clerks were very kind and helpful and gave me free gloves. It was nice to be treated so kindly and for them to go above and beyond to help give me advice when I was really upset about my house smelling like skunk all night. I really appreciated the courtesy and will continue to be a patron to this decent establishment.

My go to for all my animal and farm supplies. Knowledgeable staff always have my back. I never feel like a dumb dumb asking the most basic questions about raising chickens. They are always informative and fun to talk to. Prices reasonable and locally owned!! I’ve been coming here since I could walk. I love spending money at A&L Feed!

This is a great company. They always have what I need and if they don't, the owners are willing to get it for me. Best customer service. Locally owned and locally supported. Great company! I personally stop and shoot it up with the owners regularly. Great people.

So I'm not one to commonly leave reviews for places but I felt a strong urge to do so for this one. I must say I was strongly disappointed with the overall result of my purchase. I purchased 10 chicks (as in chickens) from A & L feed. I myself not being a seasoned chicken raiser, did not think to ask where the chicks came from or what condition they had been in, assumed they were from a local farm and were hatched under ideal conditions. To my disappointment, I was far from that reality. Two of the chicks (who were adorable I must say) died within 2 hours of my bringing them home. A third died yesterday, 2 days after having them home. I learned they had a chicken disease, cocciodosis, which is thankfully treatable so now the remaining 7 are receiving treatment. I also learned that this was not the first time A & L feed has sold chicks who ALREADY contained the disease, which is due to extremely unsanitary conditions. They receive their chicks from large hatcheries who are then shipped to different areas. They sometimes stay in boxes for 2-3 days until arrival, which in that time can contract a multiplude of diseases, including cocciodosis and shipping fever. Anything that has 'shipping fever' as a precaution should be an automatic NO! Any responsible feed store would at least treat the chicks upon arrival, and then tell the customers what's up. Of course, I take responsibility for my own naive assumptions, but seriously? A feed store should be a little more accountable than knowingly selling sick chicks and then not telling the customers how to prevent or treat common illnesses. Animal cruelty if you ask me.
