We really enjoyed this room, especially the bath tub! The wrap around porch around the courtyard was really nice to have coffee in the morning as we planned for our outdoor outings. We also really appreciated the host's suggested places to check out. Loved Mt Shasta and definitely would stay here again!Rooms: Room was nicely arranged with the dining table next to the window for coffee in the morning. Loved the fresh air and the automatic fireplace.Noteworthy details: Crawl foot bathtub and automatic fireplace.

Feb 2024We stayed in cabin 1. The room was great. It was clean and neat. There was plenty of room for us and our bulky gear. The bed was great. The pillows were not comfortable for me. a side sleeper but were fine for my wife. The kitchenette was nice but very small. It would be nice if there were a small table under the window near the fridge to set things on. The room was very quiet. We could not hear any noise from next door. There was almost no traffic on Squaw valley rd. The highway is far enough away that noise should not be a problem even with the windows open.My only complaint is the lack of heat in the bathroom. The ceiling fixture looks as though it could take old fashioned heat lamps. Baring that a portable heater like the one near the bed would work.We were recommended to Shasta View by a co-worker, He was spot on. We will stay at Shasta View next time we visit McCloud.Thank you for your hospitality.Back again Apr 5-6 2024Same cabin 1. Same great experience. This time I took the portable heater into the bathroom, worked like a charm. As to the pillows we brought our own this time. I am sure the existing pillows are fine for most folks, due to age and wear and tear we find we need very firm pillows.

We stayed in room #8 which smelled fresh and was very clean. Top notch all around.. view of Mt Shasta, walking distance to downtown McCloud, room was better than a new hotel, parked right by the room door.Walkability: 1 min walk to pizza, 5 min walk to Sojourner coffee

Very nice place! It is on the edge of town so you have stores and restaurants in walking or very short drive distance. The location is extremely quiet, actually dead quiet. Great bed, actual reading lights, large bathroom and everything was exceptionally clean. We had a minor problem with the heater and there was a repair person there within 30 minutes. He promptly dealt with the issue. In the future rather than staying at the noisy and often tacky places along Interstate 5 we will make the scenic drive to McCloud and stay at the Shasta View Lodge.Nearby activities: Great restaurants and just a few miles to exceptional waterfall viewing and hikes.

wasn’t able to make it due to weather and the host was not responsive, not accommodating, and would not refund the amount they said they were going to until we had to get Airbnb involved. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but due to the ice storms and road closures in the PNW, where we were coming from, we couldn’t even leave our town to be able to go. After I had messaged them to work something out they never responded to my message and only sent automated responses asking us to review our stay. I understand the last minute cancellation is difficult on a business and they still need to make money, but I had even told them to cancel our reservation to allow people stuck in the area due to weather to find a place to stay. They would not cancel the reservation and said to see how the weather goes the next day.

This is a really nice place! I love the way they have it decorated with beautiful rustic features. The beds are extra comfy! My favorite part though is the amazing view outside of Mt.Shasta. The coffee was an added perk for me. The community area offers a great place to relax in a hammock or bbq with the family on the outdoor grills and patio.

A most wonderful stay for our weekend getaway! Would definitely return and check out another cabin, too. Cabin 3 was fantastic! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Easy check in/check out and the information provided via email from the hosts was a great go to resource of things to do, see and visit in the area. The Shasta View Lodge has authentic cabin/lodge vibes at a good value!Rooms: Super cute, comfortable rooms! Bed was amazing!!!Nearby activities: Mc Cloud Falls, Mt Shasta, Dunsmuir has so many wonderful things to do and see especially if you like the great outdoors. Quaint, quaint, quaint historical towns!Walkability: Short walk to Hoo Hoo Park for another great view of My Shasta. Can easily walk to coffee, restaurants, museum, shopping.

The cabin was clean and in a very nice condition. We were snowed in so we stayed in throughout our 2 nights stay. The kids loved having their own place upstairs to themselves. Netflix and HBO Max was a bonus. We enjoyed the nice view of the fallen snow while drinking hot chocolate. Will recommend to friends.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable and located in a perfect spot ~ walkable into the town of McCloud where there are a handful of places to enjoy a drink or a meal. Right next door is a fun place for pizza and beer. The area is super quiet (at least in May). Our host was amazing ~ responsive and helpful and provided us with all we needed for a 3-night get-away. We will definitely recommend and visit again!Nearby activities: McCloud Falls and River area; towns of McCloud, Dunsmuir, and Mt. Shasta. Lake Siskiyou, Mt. Shasta, Burney Falls (about 40 minutes). Yummy dinners from Meat Market and Axe and Rose Public House in town. Was still a lot of snow this year, so some areas weren't open, yet, in May (but plenty to do regardless and very pretty).

The Shasta View Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. The smartly-decorated rooms are fresh and exceptionally clean. The bed is heavenly, kitchenette well-stocked, great water pressure, lovely grounds, and responsive, friendly owners. The location can’t be beat, and the prices are good! This may be the best value in the region. Book it if you can.
