HOWEVER, I called at 4:30 and they were able to prepare the best tasting vegan pasta I’ve ever had in my life by 5 With vegan cream sauce and vegan cheese, broccoli was perfectly cooked and not overdone, grilled break, white bean hummus and grilled veggies were delicious as well. They do vegan pasta better than most vegan restaurants I’ve been to. This place could do more vegan options, I’m sure they would kill it! We would love a few more vegan entree options and a vegan dessert (chocolate, caramel, lemon bar) they do have mango sorbet, but I like more decadent desserts. 10/10 go here! We had a fantastic experience at Sage — so much so we came two nights in a row. The restaurant is nestled inside an early 20th century hotel and has a quaint Downtown Abbey-esque vibe. Even though the restaurant probably seats 50 covers they stagger the seating to allow real attention to each table. Despite being grubby from the day's hiking, we felt immediately at home and received excellent service from our waiter Elizabeth. From a food perspective, the standouts were the lamb and chocolate tart, although we didn't have a bad dish on any of the nights we went. We also couldn't get over the modest bill for the quality of the meal. Highly recommended as a standout restaurant in the area.Vegetarian options: Bucatini pasta

The historic McCloud Hotel provides a lovely setting for this restaurant. Our food was tasty, but our overall experience was unfortunately marred by inattentive and slow service. The outdoor patio dining area would be very pleasant in cooler months, but less so on a still, hot evening in July.

We had an incredible meal at Sage last night! We went all in. We started with wild mushrooms and Swiss chard over polenta. It was creamy deliciousness. We had a little French radish starter with butter, pesto and salt. Super yummy. The pickled fennel salad was beautifully presented and also so tasty. I had the lamb shank. It fell from the bone. I ate the entire thing. I just couldn’t stop! My husband had the chicken and he also left a clean plate. The desserts were also wonderful. For a fine dining experience in McCloud, I highly recommend Sage. What a treasure!!

Our server was new but did a great job. Ambiance was very nice; though it was a little odd to be seated in the lobby, the building is gorgeous & being in the lobby gave my tired child a little (quiet) freedom. The food was all delicious. They were out of several menu items, but everything we got was terrific (steak, fish, pasta, salad, sorbet, affogato). Would have appreciated more non-alcoholic beverage options. Will definitely recommend & return!Parking: Parking in McCloud is very easy.

Not as good as the last two times we went. Especially when your spending more than you did the other two times. My first visit was chicken tarragon. Excellent with mashed potatoes. The polenta under my chicken was about two table spoons. And the black cod smelled strong. Sorry guys but not up to your regular standards.Parking: Great parking

We have coming to McCloud for eight years now and we always stay at the McCloud Hotel and we usually stay two to three days and eat at the Sage Restaurant at least two of these nights. ALWAYS have excellent service, excellent food and friendly staff. Above and beyond. Treat you like royalty and we will keep on coming back. This restaurant is a must try!!

We came for Thanksgiving dinner and our group enjoyed the experience. They held their dinner service at the Axle & Rose dining room. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor of the room. All tables had white tablecloths & were stylishly decorated in holiday decor. There was also live dinner music played by an excellent local guitarist Rick Garrett.The service was very good. Our orders arrived as our other friends recieved their orders. I had the turkey dinner, the flavor was very good, I only wish I had a full slice of turkey instead of 2 small pieces (about 4 bites total). They may have mad a mistake in my plating because I wouldn't consider my turkey portion a serving. I didn't speak up because as a total meal, I felt I had more than enough food.We would definitely consider spending another holiday with the staff at Sage in the future.

The restaurant is classy intimate without being snobby. The meals are the type you would find in nice restaurants, and while not perfect they were worth the money paid and accompanying experience.The service staff were great. Checked on us regularly and were in good spirits. They knew their menu and could talk about the individual items. The couple I went with don't eat much and decided to split a salad and meal and even thoughThere are very few tables, I don't know how busy it gets but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a reservation during the busy season.

Absolutely phenomenal! We had iced tea on the porch while waiting for our table. It set the relaxed mood. Everything we had was outstanding, from the amuse-bouche, to the huge salad with the best blue cheese dressing, to the crab cake to the entrées (waiting for dessert to arrive but I can't imagine it would be anything less than perfect). Our service was great, attentive and personal, thank you Alena!! My husband and I can not wait to come back up to McCloud just to eat here again!

The kitchen is run by young, passionate chefs who serve some excellent cuisine. The staff and owners here have been great and I love the feel of the historic McCloud Hotel. It feels like home away from home. I highly recommend staying here or just coming in for dinner.
