We walked in here to check it out and I’m so glad we did. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. They even have a cafe next door which is an added bonus. Delish pastries, coffee and even a menu. The chili sold out ☹️so we weren’t able to try it. Found my daughter an awesome snow jacket on clearance and paid half price. What an awesome deal. Great place to shop for souvenirs as well. Prices are reasonable and fair. The bathroom was clean and neatly decorated. We’ll definitely be stopping by when we’re in town again.

Great shop and super helpful staff. We came in from NC last spring for some fishing and outdoor activities. The owner was super helpful and got us going in the right direction for an amazing experience. Highly recommended!

This place is the real deal if you are looking for outdoor gear. I was totally impressed with the variety of items they had IN STOCK. I would not have expected that much to choose from in a small town. They had good quality merchandise at good prices. Something I was not expecting so far off of the interstate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you were looking to buy they had a lot of selection and they had rental equipment too. A nice co-owned coffee shop next door too.

Wow, this shop has not only restored my faith in retailers but even humanity itself We stopped in after forgetting snow boots for the kiddos at home. As soon as we walked in Chad, the owner greeted us with a sincerely friendly hello. He can out from behind the counter and helped us find EVERYTHING we needed. I was so pleasantly surprised at the incredible selection for all ages. We found everything we needed at competitive prices, amazing! Added bonus was the cafe attached next store. They had the most delicious house made scones and coffee that even finicky coffee drinkers like my better half enjoyed💯 recommend and will definitely be back in the future (i.e. tomorrow morning for biscuits and gravy breakfast )

Very friendly and knowledgeable people. Good, if small, selection of outdoor clothing and equipment and plenty of kayaks to rent... however they don't have any mountain bikes this year because the owner simply could not buy any for the season... Sigh.

Amazing service! Both the Clearwater Coffee & Kitchen and the McCloud Outdoors & Gear Exchange.Everyone was very friendly and immensely helpful! Both the store and the cafe were very clean; with a friendly atmosphere and the service was awesome!Julie’s talent with baked goods was amazing! The biscuits and gravy (homemade) and the coffee cake muffin was so good!Chads knowledge of the jet boil system thrilled my husband (because reading the back of the container does not compare to getting someone’s first hand experience).Overall, this is a great place to visit! Grab a coffee or some food and relax out on the patio!

Went in to ask for help finding my kids who are hiking the PCT. My daughter is hurt and I couldn't find the road to pick her up. They went out of there way to help me and where very helpful gave me maps and I even went back twice. Very nice people and very nice store. I would recommend them if your in the area.

We had a really great experience renting gear here. We had to return it after hours and the owner was so accommodating - giving us his cell phone number so we could drop it off before we left town. We also had a really great spelunking adventure thanks to his advice. Will definitely go there again when we're next in town.

This place was outstanding! Not only did they bend over backwards to make up for our lack of planning before heading up Mt. Shasta, but they also had delicious food and coffee to boot. After having a so-so experience at the outfits in Shasta it was refreshing to find a close, convenient, and extremely friendly alternative for our group!

Who knew the town of McCloud would have such a great outdoor store! Not only do owners Chad and Julie offer a cool inventory of goods (including some nice clothing), they also have gear rentals and you can get your fishing license here as well. Highly recommend!

This place used to be excellent. I went back in since the change of ownership and the prices went up but the quality of food went way down. The burritos I got took too long to be made and didn't taste very good. Hopefully some of the old bakers are there at least. I have no intention of going back.

Chad was a great help in helping sort out gear for my bicycle camping trip. He was knowledge and curious. He brought a lot of positive energy to the store. In the short time I was there, he helped a variety of folks get just what they needed. Whether they were hiking, kayaking, hunting, or fishing, Chad knew just how to help everyone regardless of their favorite outdoor pursuit.

We didn't pack all of the camping chairs and were shorted so I popped in for a quick purchase. Found a very fashionable and comfortable fold up chair to take back to the site. :-) Thank you for your patients while I browsed through your inventory. LOL

McCloud Outdoors has been such a wonderful addition to our community. They offer quality gear at great prices. The food at the adjoined Kyode Coffee is excellent especially the baked goods. These folks are conscienscous and personable and offer great customer service welcoming you in with that personal attention you get when you shop in a small town. They appreciate your business and it shows.
