Overrated food and subpar service! Wifi was down and they were aware, still no one showed up at our table for a long time to take our order. Had to seek out and ask the servers for cutlery, water, napkins and so on. The Clam chowder is watery and full of bacon. We also ordered the $32 pan roasted Halibut, they absolutely ruined the fish. The veggie broth? was bitter and bland. Oysters were pricey and so were the fish and chips. We won’t be coming back here.

While out exploring the CA coast we stopped in at Nick's Cove for lunch. The indoor dining room glowed with dappled sunlight pouring in from the large windows. The view of the bay was gorgeous. There seemed to be a shortage of staff on the day of our visit. We ordered our delicious lunch with a QR code menu attached to our table. There seems to be some confusion about who was serving us and our lunch was delivered without drinks and when asked about it, things were corrected quickly. The seafood menu had a variety of options. We selected the fish and chips and we were extremely pleased with the quality of the fish. It was fresh, lightly battered, and well seasoned. The fries were great as well.If you have time and want delicious food in a gorgeous location, Nick's Cove is a great choice.

Huge shout out to Angelica for making our evening at Nicks so special. Never had to ask for anything. She anticipated all. We went back twice because of her. They are lucky to have you on their team, Angelica! Are you listening, Wade? :)Food & drinks: The charcuterie board and cod appetizer were fantastic. The fish dog was delish (thanks Angelica). And did you know they have a 50% off wine night? I could go on and on! ♥️

We spent two fantastic nights in Jerry's cottage! The bed was super-comfortable, the bathroom was enormous and offered great water pressure and high quality products. We appreciated having a mini-fridge and microwave as well. It would have been nice to have a few plates and cutlery, too.The view from the room over Tomales Bay is unparalleled - this place isn't cheap and it's worth the price!

Food was your classic tourist trap fare. The burger patty was tough and the seafood cioppino was lacking fresh ingredients. The broth tasted like it was canned and it came out lukewarm. How was the service? What service? We ordered on our phones and the waiters plopped the food on the table. Impersonal and sub par overpriced food. We won’t be back.

My husband and I had a weekend planned there this weekend and although the rainstorm was so bad the power went out, Courtney was so incredibly attentive and sent us a gift basket with lunch and a bottle of wine for the unforeseen troubles. The staff there are so incredibly nice. One of the best standards of hospitality we have ever experienced. Will definitely be coming back!

Cute location on the coast.Boyfriend and I came for a late lunch. Great beer, wine and cocktail menu!! We started the meal off with the New England clam chowder and it was good.My boyfriend got the hamburger with the cheddar and bacon and the loved it. The fries were battered and were deliciously crunchy. I got the Dungeness crab roll and I didn't like it. I definitely wouldn't pay $35 for it again. I honestly prefer the Krazy Krab sandwiches that are served at Giants games a hundred times over, then the one I was given at Nick's Cove. It lacked flavor and the soggy dinner roll it's served on does the meal no favors.

Nick's Cove seems like it's really struggling with rising prices and staff shortages. Nowadays you order and pay from your phone. The few staff left are overwhelmed. And the prices are getting excessive for the quality and quantity of the food. The buegwr and fries were good, bowl of clam chowder ok but small, mussels dish was small, bread cost $6. So, poorer service, lower food quality, and much higher prices.

I won't get into details but the following are the basics:1) The servers, etc. were great...very nice and did a great job.2). The facilities are great, lots of options for seating, though I really wish they'd have a limit on the amount of time people can lounge at outside tables without buying much.3) The prices are way over what they should be, so it qualifies as a tourist trap.4) The food is good, serving sizes were ok, so it's tough to complain too much if you're a tourist, I suppose, which we weren't.

I’ve been a huge fan of this spot for 15 years. Lately, the food is below average and they take popular things off the menu. I’m so sad. If they didn’t have Jimmy & Grant making the best cocktails in the Bay, we’d stop coming.Food & drinks: Bartenders are the best in the Bay! Food keeps going down hill each year.

Stayed in the Nicolina cottage on the water and LOVED IT.if you stay here, make sure you read the book in the room that explain the history of this room and board-helped me appreciate it more, especially since the original owner is a fellow Croatian (from a town between Split and Dubrovnik).Room service was amazing and the staff are genuinely nice. The view is unique and beautiful, sunrise to sunset.About a 7 hour drive from us, and worth it.

Loved this place!! Super cute stop along highway 1. Excellent food, has a good amount of non seafood options which is nice. The bartender was super friendly. For ordering everything is ordered at the front table then you pick it up, which seems pretty casual for how nice the food and place is. They have a beautiful pier with ample spots to sit and hang out. Definitely a great stop if you are looking for a little romantic spot to eat on your road trip.

The food and ambiance of this place is amazing! I expected from the prices you pay for the meals to have a full dining experience. When I arrived no one was there to greet me. finally after a 10 minutes waiting I saw a sign that said seat yourself. It would have been super nice if one the many employees standing around doing nothing would have told me. Once you find your own seat, you must scan a QR code and order your own food and drinks. This is expected at a pub or some lesser dining experience, but with the food they are serving and the prices it suggests it a bit upscale. Finally when you pay you bill on the App it asks what tip you want to leave! For what?!? I did all the work!Sheesh! Again food was great! Ambiance was great! but the whole ordering / purchasing certainly did not match the dining experience. I'm quite disappointed.

I just ate there and drank a coke because I had a group of 12 that I drove as their chauffer... I sat at the bar and had an amazing salad and some fresh hot bread. What I can say is that my clients raved about the food and service. The bartender and busser were super friendly and handled the rush like pros... I can't wait to go back and enjoy the food they couldn't stop talking about...

This review is for the restaurant. Nick's Cove was a disappointment. Food was meh. Service was fine. Seems like the food went downhill within the 2 years that my family and I last visited. I doubt we'll be back.

I was excited to try eating at nicks again after an extended disappointing Covid light menu and ordering process. Before that nicks was my favorite all time restaurant for the atmosphere and food. Our experience today was unfortunately not in line with my expectations. The decor was somewhat less charming in an effort to go more minimalist. There was no table service and you were expected to order off your phone. No one at our table could get the QR code to work. An employee took pity on us and took our order at the table, for which we were grateful. For $30 I’d expect the petrale sole to be a finer plate of food. It wasn’t bad, but there was no sauce, no liquid on the plate, plain fingerling potatoes and basic steamed spinach. The bread was extra and it was just ok, no butter was served. Pluses: our food came out super fast, they had soft serve ice cream in whimsical fish cups and the staff was friendly. For the price it was underwhelming. Now it seems like a decent place to go for a cocktail and oysters and fries, sit on the deck and enjoy the view. But the fine dining, white tablecloth, excellent service days are in the past. It was something.

I have to echo some of the other comments, we were here in April and it's changed quite at bit. The self order is rather ungraceful and portions have shrunk quite a bit. It used to be a better value than some other places in the area but now it's on par with the other two establishments. It's unfortunate that it's gone in this direction. Well at least we have the memories but we will not be back until they change to the old format.

Food was tolerable, the brilliant idea to use QR code ordering to eliminate the “redundancies” of order taking by staff is asinine, and unusable if you’re not from the US(I don’t have a zipcode, toasttab won’t take my phone number..), don’t have a smartphone, etc. We felt bad having to order from the bartender who was already in the weeds with a full bar(probably because that’s the only way to get real service). To reiterate, the justification given on the website for the elimination of service is laughable - many restaurants now use portable, handheld versions of their POS systems for seamless tableside order entry & payment. If the saloon in tortilla flat, Arizona can do it, you can too, palm house.Using such a system with someone taking our order with time to offer suggestions would’ve had us considering another drink or three, or dessert, but since the ordering process is so devoid of actual hospitality, we just were ready to get out as soon as possible. The service model might be a money saving effort, but all it is really doing is leaving money on the table.Noteworthy details: The owners of the “hospitality group” that operates this and other properties leaving five star reviews for their own operations speaks volumes.

Absolutely amazing service from everyone, including front desk, bartenders, servers, etc, and really good food. Our room, Uncle Andy's, was very comfortable and spacious and we were able to bring our dog. Only suggestions would be to have plusher towels and include salt and pepper with meals brought to rooms. There is road noise, but it dies down significantly at night due to the drop in traffic. Could hear guests in the neighboring room occasionally.

Unrivalled location and views, friendly staff, nice rooms (albeit expensive), they did give us a complimentary upgrade though. The restaurant appears to be a victim of covid - QR codes, iPads and closes at 7pm - not the vibe. There are better places to eat and drink around the bay.All in all we would stay again.
