We've stayed here three times over the years and have had a great experience every time. The rooms are clean, the hotel is well-run and quiet, and the prices are affordable. The manager is well-organized, friendly, and has lots of good local advice for hiking, fishing, and eating out. This last time we brought our two dogs (the hotel is pet-friendly) and all were very comfortable. Our neighbor has also been coming to this little lodge for many years. Highly recommend!

Great little motel, we had an excellent stay.We were in room 10 and loved it. The decor is simple and cozy and well thought out. I especially appreciated the sizable bedside tables and good lighting. The bed was just the right amount of firm, and the sheets were soft but not uncomfortable on my microfiber-sensitive skin.The motel is right along a main road but the road is so quiet that I didn't even notice.The room was very clean. The proprietor clearly takes great pride in the place. We will definitely be back should we ever return to the area.Nearby activities: Grover Hot Springs State Park is a few miles away and a very cool place to visit. Nice hiking, the camping looks great, and the hot springs were perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at Creekside Lodge. The rooms were really nice. Recently renovated, very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great. A mini fridge in the room, which was an unexpected nice bonus. Todd the host was very welcoming and helpful, and Joanne the housekeeper was also wonderful, friendly and helpful. They made the stay very pleasant. Nice snacks available in the snack room. Quiet and peaceful when we were there. Lovely area, lots of outdoor things to do.Be aware that the two restaurants in town have limited days that they're open. Be sure to check out their days/hours ahead of time and plan accordingly. There is also a breakfast/lunch place that's not far away. I highly recommend this lodge.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Creekside Lodge. Todd checked us in, he was very friendly and courteous. We had the Sierra Suite, which I believe is the premium room at the Lodge. The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy. There is no AC in the room, fortunately we did not need it during our stay. The location right next to a bar/restaurant was perfect, as we were traveling by motorcycle and did not wish to drive anywhere else to eat. The bar/restaurant had great food, I had fish tacos which I don't generally order, but they were great. I would most definitely stay here again.

This comfortable and well-appointed room had a very comfortable bed. It was conveniently located next to Grover Hot Springs resort, and only 30 minutes from Carson pass.Nearby activities: Only a 5 minute drive from Grover Hot Springs resortWalkability: You could walk to the pub next door or the delicious stonefly restaurantNoteworthy details: I appreciated the cute lamp and carefully decorated bathroom. Liked that the shower was tall enough for me (I'm 6'1)

In and of itself, our room was pleasant and comfortable (though on the small side), updated with nice touches along lines of a boutique hotel. However, booking listed a "deluxe king suite" with hot tub and kitchen for $170. So I felt rooked ... but maybe that's the going rate for this area anyway, because it's a very small town without many lodging options nearby. Location is perfect, across from an upscale restaurant (reservations highly recommended) and next to a brew pub. Single-pump gas station is just up the way.

Awesome place to stay!Our room was adorable and very clean. I absolutely love the unique personal touches that've been added to this place! Todd was super welcoming and seems like a great resource for learning about the area. The location is perfect, and you can be on any number of outdoors adventures within minutes of leaving your room. Also very convenient that dinner was right across the street. All in all it was a great visit and we hope to be back soon!

Super clean and well maintained room!!The furniture made of solid pine wood and the wall decorated with pine panels added a sense of coziness. My husband and I were happy with the new LG TV set offering lots of channels and a comfortable king size bed.Located in the center of a small quiet village, with a peaceful creek right behind it.Bonus! We had a great dinner at the restaurant right next to this lodge and breakfast with coffee and muffins at the nice cafe across the street. I really hope to stay again here in the future.

The Creekside Lodge is a gem! The rooms are great - very nicely renovated, very clean, and large windows that open for fresh air. The Lodge is located in the heart of town, but it's very quiet - the only sound we heard was the creek outside. Lovely! We so appreciate that Creekside also allowed us to bring our pup. Thank you, Todd! We'll be back!!

We stayed here on a weeknight. The manager contacted ups personally with the check-in information and everything we would need to know before our arrival including local restaurant hours as they were limited. Everything was there for us when we arrived, even though the town was very quiet. The room was comfortable a comfy bed and pillows, a ceiling fan, a LG flatscreen TV, a mini fridge and good WiFi. A second chair would be welcome but it would also make the room a bit cramped.The creek behind the property is lovely and you can bring a chair out there for a good review.

Was looking for peace and quiet and rest and I surely found it! Very clean, extremely cozy, and with all the snow, it was such a beautiful setting. My host, Todd, was so very kind, thoughtful and hospitable.... always checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. My pup and I felt very safe! I will most definitely be returning on my next getaway!

This lovely small lodge is an oasis in the remote town of Markleeville! The rooms are spacious, spotless and well decorated for comfort and convenience. The host is very responsive, super friendly and accommodating. There are some great spots to eat just be sure to time your visit to opening days; we had a great meal at Sorensen's Cafe nearby on 89N. Creekside Lodge is a perfect place to stay in this quaint spot in the Sierras.

The check-in policy is crazy. We were told check-in started at 4pm and then got a voice-mail message saying it ended at 5pm and that they were just leaving our room unlocked with the key inside. I did not want this because it sounded unsafe but when called back to talk to someone, no one answered.We got there and found we'd been given the wrong room: we needed two beds and had communicated that both over the phone and via email. We again tried to call but the phones don't have reception there.We were told there was a vending machine room but it did not have vending machines.There were no places to eat in town except a bar with bar-style food and no place near enough to drive to for dinner.The room was small. This was our most expensive room on our 12-night trip and it was by far the worst experience. I emailed the hotel afterward and never heard back (it's been several days) which is why I'm posting this review. We try to support local and small businesses but experiences like these are truly disappointing. What a waste of money.

We stayed two nights. The room was clean and very comfortable. The check-in/checkout process was a bit unusual but very efficient. When I phoned the lodge to finalize my arrangements, Todd explained that he would leave the keys and Wi-Fi information in the room when he left. Since we returned each night after 8 pm and left before 8 am. We didn't meet Todd but the entire transaction was perfectly handled.

Our room was clean and well maintained, but it was too small. With only one chair, a TV hutch a bed and 2 tiny tables the only thing we had room to do was sleep. No room for lounging, enjoying a cup of coffee, or having a snack.Overnight accommodations require more than Creekside Lodge afforded us. We won't come back.

The friendliest and most welcoming place I have ever stayed. The rooms are modern and clean, but also quaint. There is food available via the restaurant and a bar right next door.Highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back.

We all get spam on our phones telling us the best places to stay in Northern California. To be honest, I wouldn't want to waste my hard earned money. Markleeville is a gem hidden in plain site. The area is beautiful and serene. Fishing, biking, hiking or just relaxing is what this area is all about. Creekside Lodge is the best place to spend the quality time on your trip. Todd and Joann are priceless. Friendly is not fake. The smiles are real and the service is excellent. The rooms are clean, quiet, affordable and comfortable.This was our third stay at Creekside Lodge and we have 2 more trips planed to close out the 2023 fishing season.Side note, try the Cutthroat Brewery. It's right next door.Rooms: The rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable. The upgraded ceiling fans and lighting are always a plus.Nearby activities: It's a historic town. Fishing, hiking and bicycling are just a few of the things you can do. Did I mention fishing? See Todd.

Similar to many of the other reviews, I thought this place was awesome. I needed a place to stay for one night to catch early morning fishing the next day. Todd was very welcoming and pointed out some points about the area. I was pleasantly surprised at how immaculate the room was. Also, it was great to have Wi-Fi and USB plugs so I could charge my phone and laptop. I will definitely be returning. By the way, the Stonefly restaurant directly across the street(recommended by Todd) was excellent!

After an incredibly stressful couple of weeks , my partner told me to pack a bag and get on my motorcycle because he had a planned a weekend get away to take my mind off work. When I go for overnight motorcycle trips I have a couple rules.1) I must be able to park my bike and not worry about it2) I need to be able to walk from the hotel to food, drinks, and breakfastThe Creekside Lodge met and exceeded my expectations!After a lovely ride through Ebbets Pass Scenic Byway we dropped into Markleeville, parked the bikes, and checked in.The room was clean and thoughtfully appointed. Todd was great checking us in, making sure we were comfortable through our entire stay, and obviously takes pride in his job.The king size bed was so very comfortable and the sheets were so soft that we had a very peaceful sleep. Bottled water and instant coffee were available to guests along with towels offered to clean bicycles and motorcycles.We had a great time next door at Cutthroat getting drinks, talking to locals, and eating some of the best fish and chips I have had!We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to other travelers!

Had to come to town for some business and didn’t get in until late. They called us to set up late check in, and arranged for a later chrck out.The rooms are basically brand new, super clean and very comfortableShout out for good pillows and bedding with amazing beds!Super quiet and the kitchenette was really helpful since the town is basically empty!Great space, awesome value, highly recommend
