We searched all week for a place to pan for gold. We were a bit out of season so most of the places that offer panning were still closed. On our last day we wondered into Yosemite Rocks & Gifts and Mike, the Proprietor, graciously offered to let us pan. He provided all of the equipment and then showed us step by step how to pan for gold. He spent more than an hour with us and was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Even though we didn’t strike it rich we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Drove by, and it appears to be abandoned. Open sign in the window, but the building was dark and dirty, and the grass out front was overgrown. This was midafternoon on a Saturday.

Came here looking for a place to do some gold panning. Mike, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. Mike showed us how to pan and shared his experiences with us while we panned. The panning was also a very affordable rate. His shop also goes by Dials Rock Shop.

Mike is extremely knowledgeable about the local geology and loves to share stories about his " treasures". Great specimens and hand made jewelry at good prices. A must stop for a Gold Rush experience.

It had some weird Buddha, not for sale but looked like some things in Equador I saw once on tv and they said it was some unknown short time [peoples], not Aztec, Inca or Mayan, over 1000 years ago.
