Stopped here many times when fixing up a house and the folks are always friendly and helpful. The only issue is that they close too early even during the week.

Always a friendly environment – staff & owner. They are always courteous. They are extremely helpful in person or over the phone. I am constantly doing projects and looking for Doohickey’s. These past few months I have noticed inventory on “new items” have expanded greatly. Thank you Troy! Oh, and returns are simple to complete. Record of all purchases are kept in their system.

I'll never be able to say one negative thing about the service, products, or staff at my local Ace because they've never let me down and I've been a customer since before they were a part of Ace Hardware. The owner Troy's standards for his staff really shine through on the floor even when they're shorthanded. I always have a person helping me as long as needed for my various projects & lists.

I called to see if the knowledgeable person in the paint dept was there. I asked specifically as I needed to know if I could add another product to improve it. The gal that answered put me through to brand new employee who had no idea about paint. New girl put me back to original person but still no one had any experience. The 3rd time she asked me my name I got frustrated with the inability to listen or pay attention longer than a split second. Will not buy anymore paint from this store

I must say!!!!! I so tired of my husband needing things for our house after work and this place is ALWAYS closed the same time everyone else gets off work, and never gets to get things we need when things break, or anything else!!!Don't understand why you guys can't stay open till at least 6???

Several bad experiences are the reason for the 1star review. I purchased a $450 chainsaw and within 2 weeks of normal use the saw stopped running correctly. Ace hardware refused to troubleshoot or fix the problem and would not return or exchange the product. There was nothing that would void the warranty of the chainsaw. The customer service representatives and manager were rude. Also, I called to check inventory of wire that I needed (300-400ft), Foster Ace had the wire and let me know the price was 59 cents a foot. When I arrived at the store, the price was changed to 79 cents a foot and the price label had been removed from the wire. There have been other pricing issues on other items that have been alarming. All in all I do not recommend shopping here unless you absolutely need to.

After reading other reviews, I wanted to make mine a little more detailed. I came up from Merced to spend a week painting in the mountains. I forgot a few things. One was paint. For such a small town, I was impressed with the amount of space this store had and the selection of various items. The local grocery store [ which i also like] has less of a selection. The paint guy there helped me pick affordable paint, tinted to a color suited for the purpose it would be used. He made sure I had a can opener and stir stick. I picked up a couple more items and was rung out by a pleasant girl and spoke with a man about a sample I picked up on hard water stain remover. For me...great service, very helpful. There was enough staff to point me around. I would take this experience over most I have in Merced any day.

I wanted to go buy things in the store. And they had a door bouncer. They demanded I leave my pack outside the door!. I heard of this before and the person that complied had their things stolen and the store neglected responsabity. So, I didn't follow those instructions and the door bouncer acted as if they wanted to fight. Needless to say I'm not going to be a customer there. They need a serious attitude change

It's a good hardware store to save you a trip to the Valley. The one thing this store lacks is a quality run paint department. Every time I go in there, I'm given the run-around because they give the same excuse of either not having the type of paint I want or the color I want because they ran out of the paint mix. Either get new equipment or retrain the paint department staff.

I basically browsed around looking for anything that caught my eye if there was anything I could use for gifts or to make something I want or could give. They had lots of stuff and much seasonal items as well. Try it if you have time, money, ideas and or a need.

I wish I could give zero stars.My husband and I recently visited this location. We are following ALL the state and government guidelines and wear our masks EVERYWHERE. We walked in wearing our face coverings and were shopping minding our own business. My husband simply put the mask below his nose for a second while we were way more the 6ft away from anyone and everyone! One of the store associates yelled from behind the counter that it had to be covering his nose. While we know the mandate and continue to follow all of the guidelines I truly feel that policing regular customers that are striving to follow all the rules is highly unnecessary. Especially yelling across the store. We will not be going back even though it is a convenient stop being close to our home. From now on we will be going to Coast as there employees are extra helpful and don’t feel the need to police their patrons.

I have been shopping ACE for years and I want to let you know how much I appreciate you enforcing the mask rules I an 78 yrs old with underlying health conditions. I hate going to Pioneer Mkt as the do nothing about non mask people. I wish we had another super market. I do go to Health Food store as much as I can.

I had a similar experience, I'm older with asthma and the employees were rude and insisted that the mask cover my nose I explained that I can't breathe because of asthma and they continued to tell me it had to be over my nose, I have shopped there for years but will never ever return for any reason....I was social distancing and I'm not sick so the mask isn't even necessary and days before I was in Ron's store he was shopping at the feed store without a mask, double standard if you ask me. I will never ever ever be back

Prices are double from Lowes and home depot. Paint department is a nightmare, In capable of making black paint. They change the paint brands every couple years, mis matching previous colors, a true headache.
