Every time I come I tell myself I'll try new things, but then end up getting the wings, fried pickles, and barts tots... No regrets ha. Their wings are my all-time favorite... So deliciously crispy🤤 always met with friendly service, highly recommend! Love the outdoor seating as well.

As the British would say, “this was a most unpleasant experience” on 4/9/22 at about 2-3pm.We order an app of Mozzarella sticks which were brought with no utensils, napkins, or plates. But whatever no problem right?They got my friends order wrong, and forgot to put the sauce on sandwich so it was very very dry. They tried to make up for it by bringing out my sauce and 2 extra pieces of fish.The two pieces were frozen in the middle! And I had to come inside after 10 minutes to get my thousand island dressing because she said “oh I was gonna bring it out with the fish”Absolutely awful service. The only waitress they had was only interested in her cell phone, and coming every 30 minutes. I was forced to go ask for my thousand island, which made an unnecessary scene, and the bartender lady gave me a weird look when I asked it.I get it… you are understaffed, but it was only us and one other group. Everyone else was drinking beer inside, so that’s not an excuse.You get more “stares” then you do “service”I am definitely not coming back.

Great food! Great service! I toured food and beer restaurants all over Carmel and Monterey for my birthday, but this was my favorite by far. The waitress was my favorite! Ask for Christy. She's the worst.

Excellent drinks, food, and atmosphere. Started with the sampler platter for a low price, high volume app, then had an incredibly generous calamari salad I had to share it was so much food! I highly recommend you pull up a seat and grab a mug!

We are from out of town and we love to visit local pubs in our travels. We had a real fun time visiting this place. Met some very friendly and lovely local people who made us feel welcome. The service was excellent and attentive. Josh and Jim took great care of us. The fish and chips was delicious and the craft beer was bang on.

The beer is phenomenal! They do wonders at brewing with a more British twist, and recreating the jovial pub atmosphere! I couldn't even stop to take a picture until I had drunk them all!

By far one of my favorite stops in the Monterey/Marina area, OK so the food is ok, not "fabulous my dear".. but what the F did you expect, its a beer place, what really make the English Ale the spot, is the experience, the staff, the guests, the food and the BEER already. this place is living proof that the sum is more than the parts. if you fancy a pint and some grub to go with it from a friendly but not hipsters type server.. this is a no-brainer, why are you still reading? just go already.

By far the best brewery/pub in the Monterey area. And it is not even close.I have been getting beer here to give as thank you presents for a few years. Everyone loves them. The beer is excellent and they have a wide variety.Lately, we have been stopping in for a late drink and app. The food is very good. The beer is delicious. My wife had a cider and it was excellent!Oh, and the service always comes with good conversation and a smile!

I had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich there on Tuesday 12-20-22 and it was the worst sandwich I have ever had in my life also have stomach issues because of it. The meat in the sandwich didnt even look like meat. I only took two bites .

Very inviting place. Had the clam chowder and it was very good. I tried the Samual Smiths Organic Perry Sparkling Pear Cider. Very yummy. Husband had Monterey Bay Wheat. I tasted it. Very good. Friendly service and love the "Mug" club on the ceiling. Definitely will go back.

Employees are very friendly and and the pub is very clean.Vegetarian options: The soups are excellent and chicken sandwiches yummy.Parking: Easy-to-use at the pub and the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy-to-use in and out of the parking lot.

Service was painfully slow. There appeared to be only one server and she frequently stopped to chat with people... Which is nice except when you have a full house. It was about 15 min from when we sat to when our drink orders were taken. Another long wait to put in a food order, then we had to find the server to get our check and again to actually pay it.The beer was good. The sausages we're good. The fries were good.Bottom line: sit at the bar and you'll be fine. If you want food... Maybe eat some place else first.

I had fish and chips and a salad. I did not come for beer. The fish and chips were essentially fish sticks. The fries were tasty and they were well done as I asked for them. The salad dressing was definitely a generic brand from Costco. Service was fast and friendly. Nice little setup outside. Very covid-19 compliant. Price was reasonable. Not terribly disappointed, but will not be going out of my way to come back.

I love English Ales. If you are in the area, visit them.I have been coming here since they opened a LONG time ago. I only get to come here 4 times a year (or so) now. The beer is great every time.

Great variety of English ales. Service genuinely friendly. My husband LOVED his Philly cheeseteak sandwich. My crab and shrimp sandwich ok. Fries not so great. Friendly atmosphere. If we're in the area again we'll likely return.

I went to eat classic fish and chip after reading the reviews in this small town. Taste of fish and potato fries was below average. I got a bad heartburn after I left this place. My drive was 2 and half hours and I got better after eating pepto bismol at home. Their food made complete drive unpleasant. Service was normal. If you feel sick after eating the food whole experience becomes zero. I do not recommend this place atleast fish and chips big no!! Its possible they used spoiled frying oil.

If you are looking for a Pub experience, this is the only place to go.We shared the fish, bangers, and chips and all were great. The fish was fried perfectly and the sausage was very authentic.....The spicy mustard is a must.GET THE CHICKEN WINGS as well! The breading and crispness are the best I have ever had...truly amazing.Don't let the strip-mall location fool you. This place is great.

Definitely a locals hangout. They had about a dozen home brews on tap. I tried each of the ales. They were all quite good but Fat Lip was my fave. They've also got a good English themed menu, although I had a party melt with a cup of chili, which were both excellent. Only reason I knocked off a star on the rating was because what another reviewer said...barkeep was definitely more interested in chatting with the regulars than pouring me another draft, but it's worth the stop if you're in the area.
