Excellent experience buying cross country skis from them. The folks are really knowledgeable and their selection of skis is much wider than anywhere else in Mammoth. They also gave me a 20% discount for buying a full set.

They are experienced and attentive but I did not like at all that they stick together my brand new skins when they trimmed them. They come with a special separator to do not ruin the glue from the beginning. It made me feel really frustrated since touring gear it’s supposed to last for long and I kinda feel they didn’t respect that… even if I know skins can be stick on together I wanted to conserve my glue in good shape as much as I could…

Incredible selection and great service on hard goods, have gotten great help with skis and boots that needed worked on. Gotta say though, I know hiring good staff is tough in this area, but seems like you either get semi-aggressive gear beta or completely ignored by the staff upstairs. Once went in looking for high top boots for work, repeatedly got told I really should be wearing trail runners despite my insistence that they weren’t suitable for my job… another time spent over an hour trying on shell bibs and spent $500 without ever speaking to one of the several staff members that were working. Regardless the great selection will keep me coming back.

My husband and I dropped in here before we hiked Mount Whitney. I took approximately 10 things into the dressing room. Two of the items had stains and one item was ripped. When I came out of the dressing room my husband was showing me a jacket he was interested in. When he turned around it had a stain on it. We did purchase a shirt that was on sale and a few other items. When we got into lone pine I asked my husband for the receipt. They charge the full price for the sale item and one of the shirts that he bought also had a stain on it. They have decent prices but make sure you check your items thoroughly before your purchase. They should not accept clothing items that have stains or are damaged. Make sure you look at your receipt prior to leaving.

This is one of the best outdoor stores I know. I'm a guide and highly recommend them for anything you need. They are helpful and reasonable. We got stuck in Bishop and couldn't use our skis and they helped us out a lot. They also have all of the ski and split board gear you need for a great weekend out.

This place had every single thing I needed for gear repair/replacement coming off trail mid hike, most especially Altra trail shoes, (commonly known as the sturdiest and most comfortable trail shoes), which at least some, (maybe all?) of the many other gear stores in Mam don't carry. Great service too.

They are extremely knowledgeable and will do everything they can to fulfill your requests. They rent and have part for Telemark ski equipment from 22 Designs. I love this shop

Absolute game changers and life savers -- rented two tents last minute from them to save the day for a group camp out, absolutely accommodating, kind, and efficient. The tent was spectacular and maintained, and the shop dog was an added bonus to the trip.Affordable, knowledgeable, and even in a rush of PCT/ JMT hikers resupplying, they made sure our novice questions were addressed.We found out about them from another outdoorshop in town that told us they did rentals , which shows the community and kindness of this shop and the neighboring outdoor suppliers in Mammoth.
