I stopped by Wednesday amidst a very rainy afternoon to find out about a kayak rental to take myself and my dog out. Talked to Missy, came back the next day with clear skies and perfect weather, rented the kayak, got an auto air pump, and life vest, and quick tutorial, took the kayak out for half a day and spent a gorgeous day on Lake Mary. We had such a wonderful time, and so grateful to ASO for making that happen! We will definitely come back to rent from ASO again. They are friendly and helpful and great prices (I checked online other kayak rentals, this was truly the best deal).

These guys are great! I went in twice for two separate equipment malfunctions. Different staff each time, but same helpful and friendly service. Great place to pick up gear.

Only $40 for full service and tune up. Bottom of my skis look brand new, and felt so good on the mountain. Lost a basket yesterday and they said they might have one that fit. Unfortunately they did not but they gave me a pair of poles to use for today free of charge. They are all about getting you out on the mountain as quickly as possible as possible without any headaches.

This is the fricken shop. Visiting from Hawaii, trying to snowboard for a couple days. Came here for rentals and perhaps to buy clothing. My man Brad Beach was amazing. Helped us sort out some rental gear and steered me in the right direction with a whole snowboard outfit. Give that man a raise. Super helpful. Super knowledgeable. Shared some laughs and stories. 5000/10 would recommend. Thanks for an amazing experience.

I just recently rented from ASO. Their employees are extremely professional. One guy in specific who stood out to me was KMART. He helped me with my rentals (the Fischer 94's) and I absolutely loved the skis. If you're looking for a ski with a bit higher of a turning radius give them a try! Also, it's a beautiful little drive through the mountain town to the resort. I can't wait to head up to Mammoth again sometime soon! Much love ASO - I'll be back 🤙🏻

I rented three e-bikes from ASO, and everything was fine until the brakes on one of our bikes went out—both of them! Thankfully, I caught it early on before it could have turned into a disaster coming down from Lake Mary.I had to get a ride back to ASO from a friend. When I returned the bike and explained the situation, they couldn’t have cared less. It was honestly a bummer, since the whole experience had been great, but their disregard for a customer’s safety was alarming.All in all, be warned: they don’t check the brakes before renting, so I would double-check them yourself. I won’t be coming back!

They charge 90$ for "demo board and boots". Here is how it look like. Nidecker board is 244$ online brand new. Guys at the rent don't know what they are talking about. Girl at the front doesn't know how to get to ski resort. Never again.

I rent skis from ASO in the winter, e-bikes in the spring/summer/fall, and we have bought our boys' skis and boots from ASO. I even brought my brother here and he left with a new board, bindings and boots. This is MY SPOT!!!! The owners are top notch and they take their time to work with me everytime I go in, and we are not locals, just some LA heads that go to Mammoth 6-7 times a year...Don't go any place else, if you do you are throwing money away. Plain. And. Simple. BEST SPOT IN TOWN

Chop at ASO was extremely helpful and informative. My girlfriend and I rented two electric bikes from him, and he made the transaction go very quickly so we could get riding. Chop made sure we were comfortable with the bikes and comfortable with where we were going beforehand. The bikes were extremely nice and user friendly. 10 out of 10 for this place. The best deal on mountain bikes you’ll find in mammoth. We will definitely be back!

Super friendly and great customer service. We've rented bikes and bought gear over the years. Last summer we brought our own bikes but forgot the pin for our kids tag along bike and they let us borrow one for the week. Really cool!

Got more service done on my enduro bike in two hours at this shop than any shop in Orange County could do in a week, and it was much cheaper. Saved me from blowing a bunch of money on an aluminum rental bike. Good folks. Thank you!

We rented ski equipment from Alpine Sports in March 2017 and could not have had a better experience. My wife needed a wider ski boot and Chop went out of his way to get one that fitted, even heating and re-shaping the liner to make it more comfortable. I changed my boots after 1 day with no issues and the staff even helped me carry my gear to the bus stop up the street. Absolutely first class service, really nice people, good gear and a good price! Highly recommended!

Great place to rent ski and snowboarding gear if you are headed to Mammoth. Great customer service and way better prices than on the slopes. Super quick turnaround if you have an issue with your rentals. Had a binding issue with my snowboard and was in and out in 5 minutes.

My family and I came in early enough to get all 5 of us bikes to rent. They are very knowledgeable here and very helpful. They offered tips and a map to guide us for the day. The prices were extremely reasonable. For half day rental it was $25 and $35 for all day. We got the all day since we weren't sure how long we would be. On top of all the great customer service and attention we received, we got a discount from Yelp that they gave us. And the cherry on top of all that, my eyeglass case got left on the counter and the owner rode down to where I was at a nearby park and delivered them to me. If it was me, I would've waited because we had to come back anyway but he came to me on his bike to deliver them.

Small business customer service is phenomenal. The owner personally helped me choose the right bike. Great ski selection as well. This store stocks great junior collection, including unique full shox and soft tail bikes. The only store in Mammoth.

Greg, one of the store clerks was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about what I would need for Mammoth Mountain when I went up there snowboarding. He was also considerate of the fact that I’m visiting and might not need to invest so much in gear. Overall excellent experience at this store!

We've been renting skis from ASO for years and they always have excellent customer service. This year all 3 of our girls needed skis and boots and they were super friendly and made the experience fun for the kids. We also needed to exchange and return some items we bought and they were very gracious. Thanks ASO!
