Went in for the first time today and I think the staff cheated on me. One of my items says $5.99 but got charged $7.99, I bought two of those for my kids. I will include my picture evidence in this review.

Parking lot not clean.Outside store lots of homeless people.Afternoon hours only one cashier.Long lines.They should hire more employees for cashiering.Store is clean not messing.Floor looks wax and mopped.

In 99 cent store many prices of items are misrepresented. Many items do not even have prices indicated on the shelf. Some of them even though they have reduced price tags on the shelf, but the cash registers were not updated properly in a timely fashion with this new price and ended up getting charged the same old price. It happens frequently so much so that it makes me wonder if it is a ruse to try enticing the customers buying the item but still make them pay the original price. I usually discover these discrepancies after returning home. This has happened several times for me. I tried to reach the manager of the store on the phone to bring these issues to his/her attention. But the call usually goes to a checkout cash register person, and I am asked to call back another time to talk to the manager. Some cash register personals are impatient, rude and curt. I have been over charged many dollars so far due to this misrepresentation of prices. I am at loss as to how and to whom to properly lodge complains. It used to be good to shop there now it is a rip off. Hope they lower the prices after the inflation comes down...Its just a corporate rip off. we all know they will never come back down, Easier to shop at you grocery store...

This establishment has been much better with the quality products and food choices they offer. The only reason why I rated this at three stars is due to their lack of employees. I have grown used to a bit of a wait to check out but over a half hour wait just to pay isn't very convenient. I also feel awful to see customers take their obvious frustrations with the matter on the few individuals who are helping at the check out. They can only do so much. Time to hire some young people who need experience to assist with such of an awfully busy store.

Worst dollar store ever. All cashiers have attitudes and are slow. That's why I go to dollar tree. Why doesn't 99 hire good employees if I was manager of this store all employees would be fired. As a manager I pride myself on having the right people for the job. 99 make a change because you are losing money by having these people employed. With approximately 20 people ahead of me, I begin to question whether the discounts are worth the sheer amount of time wasted.To make matters worse, the service provided by the store's employees is less than desirable. The workers exude an aura of indifference that makes it abundantly clear they would rather be anywhere else but behind the counter. Their lackadaisical attitude translates into a distinct lack of attentiveness, with minimal effort put into providing any form of decent service. Few reasons I don't like going to the 99 cent store there's always a line and only two cash registers open and their prices you're always not right example cooking oil prices I see on the Shelf says $4.99 $3.99 and $1.99 there's no stickers on the cooking oil either when I get to the counter they ring up $9.99 but there's nothing around at all on the shelf or the bottle that's a $9.99 very frustrating very stressful store to shop at

99 cents is one of my favorite stores! They always have great decor items for all seasons. I frequently buy fresh fruit and some other first hand items. They have lots of cute stuff for crafting, party organization, home decor, snacks, etc. We love it!

The store is very big and it has a large inventory. The only problem is the lines can sometimes get long and the customers usually have a lot in their baskets. If you aren't in a hurry it is the place to go.

The store is clean and well managed. They have a great selection of vegetables, bread and fruit they have a large and good selection of canned foods and household items. They also have frozen foods and glass wares,silverware and toys you just have to look. The employees are informative and helpful. A person with an imagination and some cooking skills living on a very very tight budget can feed there family and feed them healthy and tasty meals. I give the store 5 STARS

The store has a decent selection of various items. However the staff could use some work, the cashiers are pretty rude and don't provide good customer service. My daughter tried being polite and asked the cashier how her day was and she just rolled her eyes and shot me a look of discontent.

Purchased a blanket for my upcoming trip on 4/8/22. Was overcharged, spoke with the store employee, and was given a gift card with the excess rather than reversing it back onto my card. Wasn't even offered to have it reversed back to my card. I'd understand if it were my mistake, but in this case it's the store's mistake. The girl whom I assume is the key holder or head cashier told the cashier to do so. Why should the customer have to accept a gift card with money they should never have charged in the first place? Very unprofessional. Will not be returning to this location.

Bad experience!! Items have wrong price and when I returned them they didn't give me my money back. They use to give gift cards, so now I'm obligated to go back to the store to spend that "money."Totally disappointed!!I after I redeem my gift card, I never will back. Horrible experience!!

This store does say $.99 but I got something here for $1.99. I was not happy, I probably should've payed more attention but oh well. This place is great if you are looking for inexpensive essential items that don't have to be of the best quality or are needed for experimental usages. Stuff like rubbing alcohol or steel wool can be found here. It's possible to find what you need here pretty quickly but the lines can be a problem. It's not tidy but they do their best.

The parking is home for panhandlers and people selling already made hot foods or homemade ripped dvd movies. As you shop many isles are not properly stocked. Are you ready to check-out? first ask yourself.....how much time do i like to stand? There maybe 25 people waiting in line at 2 registers but another register will not open till both lines are almost with no one waiting.

There are some good bargains in all catagories, +++. However... It feels really BIG but items are scattered around store. In fact, that's my biggest annoyance; it is not logically and neatly arranged! I often find myself saying, "Really? Why's that over here away from where I just looked?" Employees are friendly. Ask management about state of restrooms - employees use too?

Lines take way too long. They have all those register's and only two lines open. People down both isle's. There are so many workers they should be able to open more register's. I just sat my stuff down and left instead of waiting for a half hour or so in line. Everytime

I found everything I needed for my Thanksgiving dinner expect the turkey and store us clean the cashier's are so great check you out with a smile customer service is so great Thank You Madera California 99 cent store no longer lines I was out of there in 45 minutes and that's because I took my time looking at all the Christmas stuff they have I'm going back after Thanksgiving day Thank You Guys at 99 cent for my day so easy and fast .

Of course with what is going on of course most of the food is gone, but they were pretty well stocked up with fruits and vegetables. They also had 4 registers open, which was great because the lines were able to be in and out quickly!

I never go to this store because the lines are ALWAYS so long & its usually really messy but I tried it today because I was close by and it was the same disappointment! They had 3 cashiers open & they all had long lines and to top it off one of the cashiers left her register to fist fight a customer!

i have seen way better run 99 Cents store , there store could be better kept up with more cashiers to run the registers . never enough customer service.nsadnto say afraid to enter this store seeing my kids and sister n law was with me and there life threatened and store manger and store does nothing , a man yelling at my sister n law we didn't even now saying he was strapped and doesn't care and they do nothing if I could give negative stars or take the store employees and get a whole new staff running hat store.
