Last time I was here was about 5 years ago, recently renovated, a few trees were cut down and some campsites are permanently closed. The creek is a short walk away but I recommend driving there for safety reasons. we stayed at campsite 10 we booked online. Pretty good shade under the huge pine tree. Highly recommend. No campfires allowed on windy days.

Did tent camping with a group of friends. Each spot for 8 people and 2 cars parking. Restrooms were clean but no showers. There’s a close picnic area that you can enjoy watering with kids. There was no fire alert which we did not know and didn’t noticed that it’s been announced on reservation app that is recreation app. There’s only one hiking trail close where cars also drive. Overall cool place for family camping.

First time camping here. We had so much fun! Hot weekend, water was ice cold. You can walk up to the creek (upon exiting the campgrounds, make a right, short walk up and picnic area / creek is on your left). Lots of pincher bugs, mosquitoes, etc. on the camp site (I only mention this in case you're a picky camper). We booked spot #28, no shade at all, so I suggest bringing a canopy. However, the camp site to our left and in front has plenty of trees and a water spout (that we used). The camp host appear to be a couple, and their dog - super kind and welcoming! There are no showers on site, so we brought our own pop-up shower. Bathrooms are close and convenient, didn't mind foot traffic from other campers. Dog friendly. No cell phone reception. Can't wait to return!

This campground is beautiful. The host “Lynn” was fabulous. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and taken care of. I never leave reviews but Lynn need’s a huge shout out for her help and hospitality. We will be back !Restrooms: CleanDog-friendliness: We had 3 large dogs and they were welcomed

As a previous review mentioned, they apparently close Tuesday-Thursday (with no mention of this on the Forest service webpage). See pic of the entrance sign taken on a Tuesday afternoon. A more permanent sign (with screws) is also posted with the Tues-Thurs closure. Otherwise, the vibe of this place is more like a city park, along a fairly major thoroughfare. On the east end of the campground, there is a very prominent wall, with spikes, marking the boundary line of the adjacent property. It seems more appropriate for picnics and birthday parties, not really tents and camping. I did not get a rough crowd vibe, but the review from six months ago with pics of their table shot with a found bullet is enough that 1) I’m glad there is cell service; and 2) I would never camp here.

Large campground w plenty of space between campsites. New hosts doing much better job w upkeep than previous couple. Online reservation required for all sites. Campfires/charcoal BBQ use/restrictions vary--know B4 u go.Restrooms: 2 restroom stations at opposite ends of campground.Dog-friendliness: Depends-- a lot of foxtails, prickly weeds during summer months, as well as rattlesnakes.

The campgrounds are well maintained- and the rangers are so considerate and caring. They checked in on us throughout our stay etc. There is the creek nearby - driving there is better. Tee had intended on fishing but the nearby fishing place is for members only. There was no cell service - but it was nice to disconnect. The restrooms could be cleaner but they were flushable. It was an hour drive from LA.

I thought this was a nice little campground. Just 5-7 miles off the 215 and completely out in nature.I was surprised to find the campground was closed Tuesday-Wednesday, would love to see them open full time, we were only planning to stay through Monday night so this didn't impact us but it was a surprise. The bathroom could use a bit of renovation but the site itself was very pleasant.I noticed a previous reviewer mentioned the road by the camp was a major thoroughfare. There were cars passing during the day but we didn't find it intrusive at all and the traffic wasn't very heavy when we were there.

We had a great weekend here and hosts are friendly. Definitely come back soon. Hence, this campground has cell service and it’s quite close to Fontana so it’s convenient for anything if you need it.

Campground was beautiful, but biting flies were plentiful.

The camp host drove around screaming “No Day Use” at everyone she encountered. It would have been nice to be approached with a hint of civility. Once the mean lady and her car full of barking dogs left, the place was absolutely serene. Spacious campsites and little activity nearby. A dozen or so FF and even more R spots, quite a few to accommodate long rigs or multiple vehicles.Spent a few hours by the stream before heading to cooler weather.

This is a beautiful little campground that's only $10 a night. It even has a restroom. Sites are primitive and pretty well spaced out. Free yellow post sites are up the road more, but i wanted a restroom for tonight.

We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon to have a look around. The park is closed Tuesday-Thursday, but we did park and walk around. Park looks nice well kept. Clean restrooms with flush toilets. I believe we will be back to camp.

Applewhite campground ⛺️ this is a very peaceful campground , we love to enjoy and relax at Lytle creek . We drove there but you can always walk . Overall the campground is nice and gives you that nature feeling . I like the fact that is all fence and the restrooms are clean. It was a good experience I’ll give it a 3 star on the sighting but it was a great getaway . Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill.

Went to check it out. Would be good for a quick getaway RV trip. Stopped by the ranger station and walked on a mile long trail.

I was with #boyscouts #troop50 #victorville for a two night camp out. We've been accustomed to vault toilets, no running water and rocky camping spots. So it's a luxury to have running water, flushing toilets and soft grass to pitch our tents on.

Good place for camping. Each site allows to park 2 vehicles. No fire pit from now on until next January 2024. The fine will be $5,000 for violation. Restroom is ok. Dog is ok.

Came up here for a quick overnighter just to check the place out. Arrived on Monday and found only 4 other sites occupied, 1 in the upper loop and 3 in the lower loop. Stayed in site #38. Really nice and quiet but can see things being pretty crowded and loud on the weekends. Acting Camp Host, Lynn, was great. She came by to introduce herself and warn us about the snakes being active. She captured 3 Rattlesnakes while we were there. Be cautious where you walk and keep an eye on kids and pets!Had a very strong Verizon cell signal with no problem. No cell service at all with T-Mobile. Lower bathroom was very clean, upper one not so much.

It is well maintained, but the 2 permanent washrooms were not open, only 4 temporary ones were available. There is a nice store nearby with almost everything. The creek is not far. Avoid going there during weekends.

Very bad place, November 17, no campfire allowed, and we knew that on the place without any B!. We ended in a restaurant to take a dinner! No information about that situation in the website

I wouldn't recommend the place to nobody if you got small kids they can't even walk around the campsite that weeds are so high Nothing's been trimmed the bathrooms are filthy all they do is change toilet paper and that they don't clean them there's no soap in the bathrooms. Ever since these new people Took over they have done nothing to cancel it's a wreck. At least the old people used to do things around there we wack clean the restrooms these new people do nothing except sitting there fancy mode over home do not and do nothing.

I have been coming here since I was 5 years old with family and friends. It's a beautiful place to go and spend an hour or a couple of days at a time. If you need something to do with your family and you don't have a lot of money this is a place you can take them. Camping here will not break the bank. Plenty of hiking to do. Go play in the water and just remember if you trash the place it's going to look like that. No one is better than anyone so pick up after yourself. Cheap Camping, the stream is right there, and the only bad thing I can say is there's no showers.

I needed to get away for a night, this spot was perfect. There is a little general store along the way there where you can get beer and ice!!

DO NOT CAMP HERE!!! From the first night, there was a lot of fighting and yelling going on outside our tent. There were threats like “I’m going to kill you”. The second night even more yelling and screaming; then gunshots were fired, our tent got shot at and our table that was inside our tent has a bullet hole. One of our sweaters that was on the table also have a bullet hole.We did not feel welcomed and the bullet being shot at our tent at 1am, proved it. We made no noise and tried to just have a relaxing weekend.NOT SAFE FOR KIDS, we had our toddlers with us!
