I've been shopping at this location for quite a while, and for some reason today whomever the tall male associate was (my visit was around 12:40pm I believe), they seemed to be on edge simply because I was shopping.I gathered all the groceries I wanted to buy and was walking to the front, when this associate sees me walking towards the front and loudly tells me "You can come here" before I even get close, and holds his arms out for my hand basket of groceries. His body language is immediately aggressive.I ask how he's doing, and hand him my basket onto the counter. He then let's me know he'll be bagging everything I have, without even asking me if I wanted bags.I'm noticing all of these aggressive signs, but I don't bring this up out of respect for him and the store. I make small talk to help relax him, as I worked as an AP and SO before and can tell he feels iffy about me for some peculiar reason.After scanning all of my items, he asked if I want to pay cash or card. I let him know cash, and give him 3 20 dollar bills.This is the first time any associate here has actually scanned any cash I have given them through the scanner for legitimacy, and I was already feeling this "guilty until proven innocent" mentality from this associate.I thank him for helping me, and he just walks away. A female associate afterwards approached me and thanked me for shopping here. I said thank you as well, and left.This was a very unfortunate experience to have at a store I am a regular at. I do not know if the associate perhaps had a prior incident before my arrival, but this is not the way to treat your customers. I will not be shopping here again.

This place is a ran down store. Dirty and like always the restroom is out of order. They cant provide even that. Feel bad for locals who shop here.

I am so happy that this is a DG market now. The fresh meat cheese and produce was a needed change. The store is always clean. I have never smelled any stench of rottening meat. If I'm unable to find what I need at the DG market, I go to the store located right next door where there is a large variety of fresh vegetables. Now all lake Los Angeles needs is a Starbucks

This DG is my only favorite one to go in. Always have what I need, and the staff is always kind when you talk with them. You’re always greeted with welcome. The manager whose name starts with a L is a delight to talk with she is super kind. I’m glad they turned it into a DG mart.

They try here and are friendly. The stocking is a huge issue, especially when you live in a rural area its important to have stocked shelves

The DG changed to a market? Since when? I went inside and was disoriented, buy it was just what Lake LA needed. On the right there is drinks, vegetables, and fruit. To the left most area you can find make up and medical supplements. And the rest of the store is just like normal DG, isles and isles of things that you might or might not need.

Was in there last night someone by the name turkey helped my wife and I out just gotta say she was super helpful, cheerful, professional and friendly with a beautiful smile. Will definitely be back. Wish more stores had great employees like her.

Honestly it's a really great place. The staff is friendly and always helpful. Prices and variety and good except that they usually never have balloons. Aside from that it's obviously good bang for your buck

It's like shopping in a mini Walmart, they almost have everything I need ,wish they can have fresh produce,I love all the seasonal decorations. The store is always clean, and well stocked and all the employees are friendly. I'm glad they are in Lake L A.

I like Dollar General their prices are great you can find almost anything you need here. Best part is that we have this store in Lake LA. Don't have to run all the way to Walmart in town for something. It's always clean in the store and they have a customer restroom . Great

Close to home open early, the only negative is you have to make sure you get all your discounts and coupons counted; even the $5 one given every Saturday. Other than that it's quaint and convenient and senior hours end at 8am.

All the good staff they had is gone and replaced with incompetent morons. The manager is a complete joke. Very VERY racist. She’s often heard yelling at employees. Just imagine the old lady white trash version of hitler. Completely unprofessional. The store is filthy and infested with cockroaches... I’d rather just shop elsewhere

Most proces are fair. They carry a good selection. Store is kept neat, aside from clearance aisle, which is usaully a mess, and not significantly discounted. Friendly staff. Disorganized checkout line

When we go to buy what the family needs there are something available.Never have butterscotch pudding for an example.The staff never has the fringe full of the cold products like milk eggs and beer. Any day of the week.We were told today they only stack beer on Tuesday or Thursday because the order comes in. they run out in frige but there is always hot beer in the aisles. Today is superbowl Sunday. And still fringe is not stocked. No excuseThey are busy playing with each other and concerned about the music that's playing.Customers service is not great in lake Los angels

Since they opened, they have always had a well trained team. Customer service has always been excellent, getting through the line has always been fast no matter how long it has been, the floors are always clean, and everyone knows where everything is. They do need to figure out a way to delineate the line for check out like they have at banks, and they have to figure something out about the bagging situation that the county has burdened them with. That's not their fault, but it hurts business. The prices are competitive, but with the Family Dollar Store having just opened across the way, there might be some competition. Forget Saddleback across the street, I laugh all the way to the bank on that story. If they continue to keep the milk and eggs at competitive prices along with a few other general and often yet commonly purchased items, there will certainly be no competition between them and the Family Dollar Store across the way. This Dollar General Store and their team are very much appreciated. I just ask that they jump on the legal issue of using bags at no cost to their customers and start selling the Botan Rice Candy so I don't have to keep going on Amazon when I run out.

People can complain about anything but I love this store, this town needed something to help people with low prices, saddleback price gouged. $6.59 for a 12 pack soda it's $3 here. This DG does have a lot of out of stocks I work retail too. But it's because it's the best place in town to buy things, plus I'm sure theft hurts it too out here. This store is new clean and offers coupons on top of there already low prices. Most of the time I look for 5 items and maybe 3 or 4 can be found. Soda is always out of stock, milk goes very fast too. It's so nice to have an alternative to saddleback I'm happy this store opened next to them.

This is becoming horrific! Unable to count change back is one thing. But for God sakes, hand the coin change into the person's palm first before the paper money. When change is handed back to a person, on top of the paper, it forces the customer to practice a balancing act. Plus it flies off and goyes everywhere. Very poor customer service!

Lake Los Angeles is like a rural outpost. Not many shopping choices without driving all the way back into town, and the other local market is way overpriced (river pirates!), Locals were ecstatic to have a new store that carries most necessities, like bread and milk, a small frozen food section, first aid items, party supplies etc.

Will Never go back. This store started out great, including that Every single employee says 'Hello, Good Morning Sir. Which requires a reply, and then trying to re-remember what u came for after answering each one.If I wanted Water, I'd of brought some to the register. You really should give these people a math lesson. I come for coffee and cigarettes. I only have enough money to buy just those things. But Your cashier thinks i need bottled water n thinks that $1. is a DEAL. hhahaha rotf., n mind you i had to wait extra time for him to go get this water, then wait thru his idiocy as well.I am forced to tell him I don't want the water, i can't afford 1 more dollar. n He's like well get the water n don't buy the cigarettes. Now Everyone in the line knows I'm Broke.So I tell him, Just the Coffee' cause now he's lost the cigarette sale $5.80, n he didn't pick up on that social Que.Oh so you want the coffee and the water then? NO, I only want the coffee n I'll go buy it somewhere else, cause you are Pissing me off. He finally gets the hint.So you ended up selling me the coffee and smokes, but I'll never go back, never. So You Lost an Everyday customer trying to not sell him a 5.80 item so you can sell him a $1 Dollar item. that's only worth .50 cents to start with n embarrassed me in front of the whole town. Thanx
