Good I go here for my dog food. I trust the place. Always good kibble, not expired. Also they have a rewards program. I believe my 10th bag is always free. So that’s nice. I feel it pays for itself to shop here. Nice variety of brands, treats, and toys. I also walk my Shiba Inu through here and he loves to browse the aisles. Cute place to bring your dog!

I love the convenience of buying online, but there are times where you just have to go in to get what you need. I didn’t know it at the time but I needed some practical experience and advice.I have an epileptic cat. She was on a few medications that greatly reduced her seizures, but they made her sleep constantly and she would still have grand mal seizures about once a month. I had read about the ketogenic diet being the only solution for human beings that had epilepsy before medicines became available. So I thought why not try it for my cat?Of course, I looked online, but quickly figured out that I would need to buy small amounts of many low carb foods to find one that she would actually eat. This would be best done in a store.I visited stores in the area, consulting a list I had compiled and compared them to what each store carried. In addition to being epileptic, she was incredibly finicky and wouldn’t eat any of the foods I had bought. My next stop was to Centinela where I wandered the pet food aisle, list in hand.A woman who appeared to be training two colleagues, stopped and asked if she could help. She turned out to be the manager, Alex. I told Alex my situation, and she immediately distilled my options down by asking a few questions. I left with an armful of Weruva cat food.That was in February 2023. To my great relief, she liked most of the Weruva options. She had one seizure around this time and then none since. It’s been almost 9 months seizure free.What was seemingly second nature to Alex made a huge difference for us.No matter the job, we all can recognize people who are good at what they do and know their stuff. Alex knows her stuff, shared it with me and I’m forever grateful.

Staff are friendly and helpful. There are lots of food and supplies to choose from. They sell more unique brands (no Meow Mix or Friskies for example). There is plenty of parking.

They had a really awesome variety of pet food, especially for cats. I just got a new cat and want to help him find some favorite foods so I found some vet recommended picks and this store had *all* of them. I was able to pick out like 5 different wet foods, a good dry food, and then some snacks to boot.Will definitely be returning to take care of my little guy. :)

The staff member who helped me- a young, African American man- was knowledgeable, patient, and most helpful. He offered excellent customer service, walking me to the several sections of the store, and he was very sweet to my nervous, little dog. He even recommended the grooming services on site, and helped me make shopping decisions based on my questions and needs. Because of his service, knowledge, and attention, it was a delight to shop today. I will be back.

Shop is stocked what I need. Employees are forever courteous and ready to help. FORTE RESCUE FOUDATION picked a very good store to do their rescue services ever 2 Saturdays there. It's exceptionally clean all the time wide aisles and plenty of dog chews available to choose from at doggy level as they wander the store with rhei mom or dad. 5 star place. Bring your dog and let him try it he'll like it.

Management of this store is terrible. Instead of providing even basic customer service to a long time customer (thousands of dollars spent at this store, regularly, and for many years) this store blamed me for their mistake and treated me like a criminal.It started when Centinela Feed online sent me beef dog kibble, instead of the chicken dog kibble that I purchased. So, I went into the store to exchange the (more expensive beef) wrong kibble for the (less expensive chicken) correct kibble, that I paid for.That first time, the employees were way too baffled about how to carry out such a complex exchange transaction (same brand - beef kibble for chicken kibble) that I had to agree to come back another time.The second time, the Manager refused to make the exchange and correct Centinela Feed's error, because:---Reason #1--- CF Manager: I did not have a "paper trail" about the Wrong food!Of course I only had receipts for the food I paid for. What documentation could I possibly have about the Wrong food that I never ordered?I had a receipt for items I purchased, but no receipt for the wrong items placed inside the box!Any thinking person would understand the Centinela Feed employee(s) who misread the order, filled it with the wrong food, and delivered the wrong food, did not provide me documention with a blow by blow account of their mistake.----Reason #2----CF Manager: You should have reached out to the "delivery team.""True, I did not become personally acquainted with whomever delivered the Centinela Feed order. I have never obtained contact info of any of the 100's of delivery people for the 1000's of online orders from all other businesses I've ordered from. Who does that?---Reason #3---- CF Manager: You could have gotten this food from Petco."Believe me, I wish that I had gotten the food from Petco!Instead of repeatedly trying to deal with blatant incompetence at Centinela Feed, I would've happily gone to Petco, if only I had gotten the food there! (AND btw thanks CF Manager, for letting me know that now Petco carries Stella and Chewy's. From now on I will go to Petco for my frequent Stella and Chewy's purchases!)The CF Manager acted very, very, suspicious, as though my exchange request was the crime of the century, and clearly they had me profiled as a fraudster who spends their time trying to get over on CF by exchanging a more expensive beef kibble from a different store, for less expensive chicken kibble at CF.By this time, the CF Manager who had kept the store open 15 minutes past closing time, told me that I had to come back a third time - to "Deal With Corporate" on the matter.I am almost curious what CF "Corporate" will come up with. I would not be surprised to hear crazy new reasons CF cannot possibly find a way to correct CF's error, you know, like taking back wrong goods and providing goods I paid for.It is a strange business model, to pay multiple employees to spend the time it has taken them so far to stand around and make illogical arguments against providing me, a (newly former) regular customer, with the most basic level of customer service... and training the Manager's that an exchange for like items must escalate to involve presumably higher level employees. Who needs to weigh in from Corporate? The CFO, COO, the CEO...? Will CF expend endless resources to stand by this mistake...? Is Idiocracy in full swing at CF...?

I was sick this week but still really needed cat food, and the one I get is not offered online. The staff was super understanding and helpful. They ended up helping me organize a pick up where I did not have to leave my car! Always love coming here

This is one of the best pet stores I've ever been to. I love how helpful and friendly the employees are; they seem to always have good advice for me when I need it. I'm also a fan of the puppy training courses! As I understand it, this store chain is owned by some LA natives, so it's a no brainer to come here if you're interested in patronizing local owned businesses.

Great neighborhood pet store. It's huge! I feel like they have everything and always at reasonable prices. I'm a big fan of the self wash stations as well. They are super clean and really help out with bathing my dog who is bigger in size and getting older. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Totally recommended.

Fantastic selection of food and accessories for pets. Very helpful staff. I was looking for some steps that act my aging cat can use to get up on the bed because my bed is kind of high, and they had a set that was better than anything I've seen at a decent price. I approve this store, thumbs up!

This pet store is well stocked, has helpful workers and is never crowded or full. Its chilly which is my type of temperature I like, but if you don't like the cold bring a jacket!

The help there is always friendly and helpful. Some are more knowledgeable than others but always nice. Good self-wash dog facility as well. My friends says their prices are higher I haven't compared but they do have a good loyalty program where you receive discounts when you but I've a certain amount.

This Mar Vista location easily has the worst customer service and management of all the centinela feed locations. I've been a customer of centinela feed for a few years and always had a really great experience in Santa Monica and Redondo locations, will avoid the Mar Vista location in the future. Staff and managers extremely rude and unhelpful. The day after Christmas no less. Very disappointing.

Very friendly and considerable stuff for a new kitten caregiver. I was comfortable asking anything and don't feel any pressure to buy any -- though I ended up buying quite a lot due to the very good deal lol.Pretty sure that I'll be a frequent here -- as long as I live in LA.

Prices are high, but the selection is high quality and the staff is incredibly friendly. Store was nice and open and felt comfortable and safe with COVID precautions. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent service who prefers to shop local but doesn't mind spending a little more.

A very nice place to buy pet food. They have a dazzling choice of food that covers all needs for pet owners whose pets have particular preferences or need to observe a special diet. I highly recommend it.

** If you want a real picture of how this business treats its employees just check out their Glassdoor page **In spite of their prices being higher than competitors, I was a long-time loyal customer and promoter of this store for all the same reasons others have listed in their reviews. This is no longer the case.Very long story short: this company and several of its high-ranking employees let me down when I needed them the most after my property was damaged by another customer at their store on my last visit. For almost an entire month I practically begged them to help by providing me with roughly 15 seconds of footage of the incident from their cameras, but they hid behind their corporate policy and pointed blame at other departments in trying to explain why they couldn't help. It honestly would have been easier if they just said no from the start as I realize they are not required to help. Instead, they dragged out the situation for weeks and I had to follow up with them several times only to be ultimately let down. This situation was not their fault but it wasn't mine either, and they were the only ones who could help prove it. This has had significant financial consequences for me and it didn't have to be this way. During an already difficult time with the pandemic, this situation has added an incredible amount of stress to my life for seemingly no good reason.This company might technically be "family run" it sure doesn't feel like it after this and seeing their Glassdoor reviews. Now that I know who this place is run by I have no choice but to find another place for my pet needs.

Update 2021:. Really superior customer service. As a frequent litter buyer, I had my frequent buyer card. Apparently it require receipts which I only had a few. They found and printed the all out. Wow, I like this place!Centinela Feed is an excellent local pet store chain. They have a good selection of items for almost all kinds of pets, but the emphasis is clearly on cats and dogs. On most Saturdays they have adoption events. I have seen adoption events for dogs, cats, and rabbits. The staff is friendly and helpful.
