Wonderful 1950’s era motel which was renovated a number of years ago. Nice little court yard in the middle of the motel. The courtyard also has a small wine bar. Queen and King Rooms are nice size for 2 people. The only down side to the rooms are the very mall bathrooms and sinks. Understanding the age of the motel the reason for the small bathrooms. They are one person bathrooms!! The hotel is pet friendly which is great. $40 per night pet fee. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This hotel is cute and right in the centre of town but if you come here on a Wednesday be aware that nearly everything else in town will be CLOSED- which was a bummer for us. We had to walk up to another hotel to eat and that hotel actually ended up looking nicer than this one.The Alamo itself was nice though and much more central. They give you a palo santo when you check in which was really exciting to me as I love palo santo! However my sister seemed a bit caught off guard that the check in person was a bit prickly. The double room was small but big enough for 3. The walls are thin and we did hear other people but it wasn’t an issue for us.The bathroom is the reason this hotel gets less than 5 stars. It was horrible. Shower was leaky and had such intense pressure that it actually hurt my body and got the entire bathroom soaked. It was like showering in a hurricane. The hot water also went in and out- probably due to it being an older hotel. The outdoor bar is nice and has games and a fire. The fire pit is wood so you have to build your own which I found to be fun. However it shuts down between 9-10pm every night which was disappointing after coming home from dinner and not being able to use it for very long but that was our fault for not checking my.

This is a great little hotel in the center of town. Everything is in walking distance. The rooms were nice and the bed comfortable. They allow pets. All good. The only thing I would recommend if you are staying there, is to bring a headlamp if you want to be able to read in bed. The lights are very dim! I guess you could go read in the brightly lit bathroom but honestly that isn't that appealing. I was not able to read in bed because of how dim the lights were in the room. A tiny fix to make things better. I wish I had brought my headlamp!

This place is so poorly soundproofed I can hear people’s change jingling in their pockets outside and every word in hushed-voice conversation. Awesome service, hugely vibesy decor, terrible bones. The plywood floors are an interesting choice. No blackout drapes which is a silly cost-saving measure.

If you like to pay almost $500 for two night in a party motel, this is the place to be. Our expectations for the price where a little different. Also, the room had a very chemical smell. We opened the windows and door, but couldn’t get it out. When we mentioned it to the staff they only offered to spray some cleaning spray in our room to mask it. Very disappointing. We likedLos Alamos town, but this hotel is overrated and overpriced.

Amazing amazing stay at the Alamo Motel! I was there for my brother's wedding across the street. Check in was prompt and the staff was so friendly, and the room are absolutely adorable and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone and everyone! Such a cool stay. Customer service unmatched as well, I booked the wrong dates accidentally the first time and they were incredible with getting me rebooked. Such a breeze, such a cool place to stay.

I stayed 2 nights and could not get the fan to work. The remote showed that it was on, but the room was sweltering the whole time. Apparently the office closes at 5:30pm and there’s no one around to be of assistance. I wanted to sit outside in the shade or around the fire pit in the evening for some relief but there was a wedding party of around 20-25 people who occupied all outdoor areas day and night for 2 entire days, so it was I was never able to do so. Lastly, when I turned the TV off, there was a DISH network display that wouldn’t go away, even after manually turning off the TV. Otherwise I loved the room itself, especially the claw-foot tub, and I enjoyed tooling around town on the bicycle they provided, but I think I’ll try another hotel/motel on my next trip out here.

We had the best night ever on our road-trip. The bed was the comfiest one could have asked for, from mattes, pillows and the thick/fluffy blanket. Great price value. Super cute and stylish motel!

Staying at the Alamo Motel is a must when visiting Los Alamos! The staff members were delightful and the fire pit is very lively and communal during the evening. They also have great local beers, wines, and merchandise for sale in the main office.P.S.Harry Styles, if you are reading this, you have a huge fan attending your Inglewood show in October, so maybe you can give them a shout out during your set? Just a thought. Thanks.

Nice place to spend the night in Los Alamos. The rooms are simple and a little bit rustic (can enhance the decoration even more in the bathroom). A little pricy according to me (almost 300$/night) without any free water or bathroom/restroom amenity.

Super cute and well designed place, it felt like a coffee shop. Our room had an awesome bathroom, mini fridge, snacks & drinks (for purchase ofc). The sheets were super clean and comfortable. There were even free wood sticks you burn that smell good. Saint Pablo or something. Anyway- great place, I highly recommend if you’re looking for a cute, modern and cozy place to stay.

For the price and the location this motel is very nice. The motel itself looks like it's right out of the 1950s. This place is complete with a wine bar and an outside area for people to hangout at night. After being in La for like 3 weeks and seeing no stars the beautiful night sky was a nice change. The room was clean and well kept with a comfy bed all be it small and came with a kitchen. If everything wasn't so far away this would be a nice motel to live in. I definitely would stay there again.

Loved it. Beautiful views. Very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a burger from Charlie's. Highly recommend it. Self check-in/out, which I prefer. The town was nice, and peaceful as well. Great city to take a nice walk and relax. If you're passing through the area, and need a pit stop, this is definitely the one I would recommend.

Cute motel in a small, secluded town with Minimum amenities but for us, it was more than enough. It Has a few things to provide an enjoyable experience including a fire pit, movie showings outside, swings on trees, beautiful views. However, if you prefer to be close to everything then this is not for you. Walking distance from a great flatbread pizza place and bars though! Super friendly and kind staff. This place reminds me of what I’d imagine the old days were like.

I liked the rustic wood doors, the rooms were small and expensive, the shower was good and hot and they had eos body wash shampoo and conditioner. I liked the fire pit lighted every night and the pond and waterfall with koi fish. I was there for a lovely wedding.

Really cute and fully renovated motor inn. It's very clean and has lovely, if sparse, decor in each room. We liked that it is dog friendly and has seating all around the central, grassy courtyard. The landscaping around the property is amazing - we loved the cactus! The fire pit is a nice touch, as is the stick of palo santo given to us at check-in. We really enjoyed the wine bar and picked up a couple of bottles of wine - one to enjoy during our stay and one to take home. All of the employees we met were very friendly and accommodating. Check-in/out was easy and the free coffee in the morning was delicious. Our only wishes to make the place 5 stars were for a firmer bed, drawers to put items/clothing in (there is no dresser and the bedside tables in our room were neat, but solid pieces of wood), at least one additional shelf or area in the bathroom for toiletries, and at least one brighter light in the room. The room lights were cozy and romantic, but forget reading at night. If we happen to go back to Los Alamos with the dog, we'll consider staying here again.

The Motel is great! We love the town - the food is some of the best in the State and the people couldn't be nicer. We enjoy this type of hotel experience, but the sparseness may not be for everyone. The bed was comfortable and the amenities basic but sufficient. This was our second visit and we will be back again.

This hotel was wonderful. Was a great experience. A little expensive but not really for where you are. Great restaurants a d winery's on site and in both directions very close, along with store. Overall a great experience. There is a fire pit and the rooms are simple and purposesly rustic but pleasant to stay in. I would recommend staying here for a get away or birthday or just in general.

Such a lovely, beautiful place! One of these places in the world where I would definitely go again even if I live in Germany. We booked quite late the day via a booking app and got a standard room, but then got upgraded to a room with a free standing bathtub, which looked so nice. And it all smells beautifully new, wodden, and fresh. And the „city“ is old and traditionally and also damn beautiful! Go there!

We arrived late and found the check in process simple and very courteous, we got a hand written note and the lights on in our room. The place is just like you see on the web site. We arrived to guests sitting around a fire, and ample close by parking, the place is very well light. The room was clean and the bathtub and EO bath products were a sight to behold after a long day's journey! There are a few little updates that could be done as mentioned in previous posts (bathroom sink faucet rusting), but easily overlooked because the room is clean, inviting, the decor is tasteful and the service is great! This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it.

What a cool place. This was clearly once an old school California motel but it has been sharpened up in a stylish, modern, almost Scandinavian way. The rooms are bare bones with lots of raw wood but they're bright, cheery and spotlessly clean. The super helpful owner's pride in the place is evident. At a price not much more than a camp ground this is just too good a value to pass by.

I haven't reported this for a week, thinking I would get a letter of explanation or apology or compensation from the owner after I wrote her a letter about our experience. Since nothing has come I shall share our experience with you. The rooms are simple and clean, a basic motel redo. The people in the wine room up front were lovely and helpful. The fire pit at the center of the driveway was a pleasant way to end the evening. We stayed up late. Sleeping in was part of the plan. Well, on Saturday morning at 9ish, two hours before check-out time the outside commotion began. The pest control people and the motor from their truck woke us up. Groggy we all woke up and walked down the road for breakfast. When we returned we walked by the rooms they were cleaning. They had all the beds overturned, mattresses separated as though they were going after bedbugs, not cockroaches. There were no bugs in our room. It was clean. It did not foster confidence in any of us that they were doing pest control in a room without bugs and not just around the edges but underneath and around the beds. I would not stay here again.

what a pleasant surprise to find this little gem. A retro 1950's style motel, with very friendly helpers, became our retreat for the night. The room, be it very small, was very clean as we waited and watched them remove the bedspread from the dryer and put the fresh smelling linens on the bed. Aside from the flatscreen and free wifi (and the microwave in the corner) I felt transported back to the 50's. No swimming pool and no extras, no coffee pot in the room (the office has a pot brewing) can easily be forgiven for it's lower than " Motel 6" price. Perfect for what it is, a comfortable overnight stay while visiting the central coast.

This quaint motel has recently been renovated with an updated aesthetic. At night, they prepare a wood fire in the center of the open area and bring out complimentary s'mores. They also sell their own procured wines, which we found tasty. It isn't too expensive, and the employees are helpful. We will be returning customers.

Cute hotel that looks like it was plucked from the pages of Sunset magazine. The room was a bit on the small side, but it was comfy. There is a fire pit in the center of the motel grounds which is great if you want to do some late night socializing. The cactus landscaping was my favorite part of the decor.

What a lovely little motel in a cute as hell sleepy little town. The atmosphere is great. There's a water fixture, a fire pit area/spot for movie nights and a wine bar all in the middle of 21 perfectly designed rooms. There's even a spot for playing horseshoes on the lawn across the way. My only gripe with this place was that the bed/pillows were pretty uncomfortable, couldn't get a decent night's sleep but more so, the shower was an emotional roller coaster. Going from perfect to ice cold to scalding hot. I couldn't keep up with it. I love Los Alamos and this hotel is just my style, but I don't know if we'll stay here again.
