Many First Street brand items are priced very fair. This is the only reason I shop there from time to time. I went in the other day - this is the third time in a row that Ive shopped there and never even got a hello from the cashier. I feel like they are upset and so unhappy to be working...? Its just weird to me. The only conversation was my total for my grocery items. No, hello... no how are you... no thanks for shopping with us.... NOTHING.Their produce is also gross. Everything aside from jalepenos goes rotten within 2-3 days. Just my own experience

Surprisingly pleasant cashier! Professional, too. Fast checkout, fully stocked shelves, a good variety of basic groceries + some specialty foods.This is a non-membership "warehouse" that carries lots of supplies that would be typically used by restaurants, for example, or small commercial cleaning companies. (If Costco's jumbo packaging is too much for you, it's another good reason to check out Smart & Final -- and again, without having to pay the membership fee.)That means it's a great place for bulk shopping if you're feeding a lot of people -- you know, like a reunion, a large birthday party, or other group get-together.And if you are generally into cooking, I would always come here first for commercial-grade knives and other kitchen utensils and tools, including pots and pans.

They have great deals on a lot bulk product! The store is typically well stocked and always clean. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in their area of work. Unfortunately they are frequently short staffed so there is often a bit of a wait primarily during peak hours. I still give them 5 Stars for dealing with some of the more challenging members of our community based on demographics

Before coming to store, I called to store check to check whether they have the item or not,Some of your employees answered and kept on hold for 2 minutes and she told me, that she has available.. I drive 20 miles to pick up, now they say they don’t carry, at all.Why to lie.. if you don’t. Have products.. so in professional.. when I ask the same person on call, I can recognize voice the employee answer call and says I am not the one who says .. you spoke to me, I give call some other employee she left.. I don’t want she answered..Really unprofessional way of Doing business.. making to travel 20 miles..

One of the managers was super rude. I bought some cookies for my kids, turned out they were expired. I went to return the cookies with my receipt, and the manager said in a rude manner that they cannot return food items. I wouldn't mind if she explained it in a calm manner, but the attitude was not necessary, especially since the mistake was theirs for selling expired cookies (expiration date Oct 2020). Was hoping for better customer service

Only shop here when I get a few items because service is usually awful. Today was no different. The check out clerk did not know what parsley was and had to look it up. Then she did not have a clue what an artichoke was....What the heck! She has worked there at least for a few months because I have seen her working before. Neither of these items were anything exotic but definitely held up the check out of my five items I went in for. Maybe some training of the cashier would be appropriate.

A very convenient wholesale place to shop... Reasonable prices for a wholesale grocery store. I rank them at 4 simply because it's a bit crowded in there. It's not too bad right now due to the limited number allowed inside, however, on a regular day it's way too crowded and it doesn't help that the aisles are also used to display more items. Otherwise, a convenient place for my weekly shopping. I don't even shop at any grocery store anymore. Smart & Final Extra is my one only choice!

This store specializes in bulk products. So it can be limiting. The last several times I visited this store the young lady working the register has been very rude, moody and seems to be a bit judgemental with some patrons. I was one of the unfortunate ones. I have to say that I know everyone is entitled to a bad day on occasion but when it's occuring everyday that's not 🚫 okay.

Came to grab some soda for my dad and the clerk was not even willing to look at us while checking out or even say hello like he did with the older people before us. He didn't help me when I was trying to figure out how to swipe my card ,my husband actually had to help me figure it out while the cashier just stood there and watched us .he wouldn't even slide our purchases to us ,my husband had to reach up over his counter to grab our stuff and slide it down to himself so we could take it after paying while the cashier still continued to just stand there and look at us .working as a cashier and grocery clerk myself this is super disappointing and Smart and Final needs to really learn how to train thier staff better on serving thier customers and the community no matter if they are young ,old ,white ,black , and ect. Grocery outlet and Buy 4 less has way better service and friendlier staff . Stefon on checkstand 3 on the 11th of December, very disappointed. My husband and I will keep our business for cosco and Grocery outlet from now on

I really like this chain, but I don't care for this particular store much. Pleasanton and Elk Grove are so much better. Part of my dislike is some of the employees' attitudes, some is the disorganization in some areas, some is from bad stocking / ordering issues. It's also hard to find employee assistance. I'm more irritated than usual with them today. It was a 1 star rating visit this time.Examples from today: Had to re-arrange their soda stock and navigate thru a bunch of lose rolling cans of soda atop pallets to creep under the deep shelf to the back of the display to find an unbroken case of soda. You think someone would clean that mess up (2 broken cases not cleaned up).So I mentioned the soda problem at the register. She initially blamed the stocking crew from the night before (my visit was in the afternoon) and then she blamed the ANIMALS (meaning people) who make messes. Really? Who talks that way to a Customer?This wasn't meant to be a rant, but there's more... No regular green onions in stock. One single white onion left in stock. My red onion has a rotten spot. I needed help with bulk beef and couldn't find anyone to ask questions of. Lastly, my visit started with the sliding door not opening up enough for my cart to go through. One employee saw the problem and went back to what they were doing. Another employee came over after a wait and finally opened the door.This was a very disappointing visit.

Cashier was very nice and patient. My Littles were in need of some extra attention and overdue for their naps, understandably I was in a hurry to finish my shopping and get home. 3 items took approx. 45mins due to my kids but also the set up of store. Location of items does not flow well and found myself searching up and down aisles. Disappointed they don't carry children's toothpaste, was hoping to make only one shopping stop today. Aisles are pretty narrow and as I stated above, not the easiest to navigate.

This is just like any other grocery store. Nothing special about this Smart & Final at all. The Employees could definitely learn some Customer Service skills. None of them seem happy to help anyone. Nor do they seem to appreciate the fact, they have a job.

Like this store because it is very clean and has some really good sale prices but having said that my biggest complaints about this particular store is there is never enough checkers and it takes forever to check out and they very often don't have items that are in their weekly ad.

This is one of my favorite places to shop, but the selection could be a bit better. The other Smart and Final I've been to has a lot more in it. Also, the store tends to be kind of dirty, but that doesn't bother me really.

Smart & Final it's a great place to shop for everything I need from produce to Meats, from cooking supplies to cleaning supplies, and of course the cherry on top is they have an extensive variety of Wine.

As always...outstanding...although I now shop at Smart and Final (I do avoid saying S &M) for most my families daily needs and do not do so for a business purpose...I find my shopping experience both efficient and cost effective compared to say Costco and Wal-Mart for our needs...
