Great youtube channel, amazing staff! Went in to look around, Bill offered demos of the boats in our price/usage range. Returned the next day for the demo and Matt got us on the water, let us try a couple of boats that weren't even on our list. We got to meet Dan at the lake. We found two great boats, paddles and mounts for the car, all for a great price. Cameron installed the mounts, Matt loaded the boats, and taught me how to do it myself. Buying experience was amazing! Nothing beats going to a specialty shop, if you live anywhere near Northern Cali and want a Kayak, you should definitely check out Headwaters.

Lodi Paddlesports Center is the kinda place that puts customer satisfaction above all else. Great product, great store, great people. I drove up from Pasadena due to a lack of kayak stores down here and it was well worth the drive.

I had a previous experience with another kayak dealer here in Sacramento (Let’s just say they sell kayaks in the city). I feel like they never really gave me options. I’ve mentioned my issues but failed to address what would work for me. They will sell you whatever you’re looking at, not what might work for you. Never offered me the things I may need to be on the water (anchor system, anchor, PFD, cart, etc). Didn’t offer to help me tie down the kayak on my car. The guy literally said “we don’t do that”. Never offered to show us the best ways to get a heavy kayak loaded. Just DON’T GO THERE.So… If you’re within an hour from Lodi Paddlesports, I encourage you to take the drive. These guys are bar-none. Thomas was way more than just the guy selling. He helped me with a few things that he thought I could save money on. Gave some helpful tips. Kaden was willing to customized something for me if he couldn’t find the part I needed.Exceptional folks 🙌🙏

I just bought my first kayak from Lodi paddle sports and I was blown away by the excellent customer service. Owner Jim and his sales associate Will went above and beyond to help me. Jim took the time to make sure I got everything I needed and all my questions were answered. He has a beautiful shop with a welcoming environment. They have a wide selection of kayaks and accessories and are very knowledgeable about the sport. If you are looking into the sport of kayaking or paddling this is a great place to get information and gear. Thanks Jim!

Dan is the best! I've driven all the way from Auburn to go to this shop. I've bought several accessories here as well as my newest boat, the Eddyline Skylark. I also took a friend down there and she bought a used boat.Dan is very much involved in the kayaking community and is honest and very helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Great staff! Really knowledgeable staff who obviously love kayaking. Got good deals on three kayaks. I knew nothing about fishing kayaks. They have a deal where you put $150 down towards a kayak, and you get essentially unlimited demo rights for a month. This really helped me have full confidence in the the Native Watercraft Titan 12 I eventually purchased. Can't recommend these folks enough.

I've purchased two kayaks from Headwaters now and both times this shop has exceeded my expectations. The staff are knowledgeable and provide super informational videos on their YouTube channel.When I discovered an extremely minute issue with my kayak Dan and Bill solved the problem in a heartbeat. It's great to see a business that stands behind the products they sell, as well as going above and beyond to help their customers. Highly recommend coming here, especially if you're unsure or have any specific questions on anything you're looking to buy.

Went in the other day and purchased a yellowfin 130t. Couldn't be more happy with the service or the kayak. The staff was totally helpful and accommodating. If you're thinking about getting a kayak I would direct you to go here. It's locally owned and they know their stuff. And Lodi lake/ the mokelumne river are really close to launch from after you purchase. They will also let you test out kayaks if you're interested.

Amazing customer service! I live in Kentucky and called because we have no kayaks shops near home. Linda was amazing and went far and behind to answer my questions on helping me decide on which kayak to buy. I'm a very large man, 6'5 310, and she took the time to go over three great options. Needless to say I'm sad I am not close enough to come in and pick the kayak out myself. But as of last night I am the proud owner of a Feel Free lure 13.5. I'm only sad I was unable to purchase from headwaters due to the large distance. If you live where you are able to visit this shop, do yourself a favor head over to headwaters kayaks and let them help you decide. I've made the wrong choice before and it left me months with out being able to go kayaking. Thanks again Linda!

Just took the full moon paddle with my mother and friends. Dan and Matt were our guides; they were great! We all loved it. Weather was perfect, warm water, lots of nocturnal animals about such as beavers, herons, bats and birds. It was a magical evening and I highly recommend doing this with family and friends.

Helpful & super friendly service. They also have well maintained kayaks & SUP rentals. The owner Dan is also a wonderful instructor if you need lessons. They offer lessons and also Yoga SUP sessions as well. Lodi Lake is the perfect waters for beginners too. I had a wonderful time during my visit.

One or two of the employees here are nice, others have been 'too cool' to help. It is a good place to get kayak stuff BUT its the only place around so they hold a monopoly, competes with walmart/basspro.... (prices are high as heck) rentals have good price tho. This places only sells non-whitewater kayaks... if your looking for anything whitewater don't waste your time here.

After searching for a tandem kayak and deciding on a specific make and model, my wife and I wanted to try it before buying. Three IER stores around the SF Bay could not answer questions or arrange a demo. Two local retailers who sold Eddyline were not able to help either.From Eddyline's website, we contacted the manufacturers regional sales representative, Ethan. He advised me to reach out to Dan at Headwaters. Short story- We scheduled a demo and purchased our first yak!Additional details:Dan and his team listened to our planned uses and then recommend paddles, pfds, spray skirts, paddle floats, bilge pump, car rack and a few other items to make our outings, transportation and storage safe and enjoyable. For each item they explained its features and benefits.ie: Dan's recommended car rack would not leave black marks on the yak's white hull. This rack was also a few hundred less than the top of the line model we thought we needed.The suggested bilge pump has a stainless vs plastic shaft which is more durable, has greater stroke volume and will empty a boat using fewer strokes.From our experience, the staff at Headwaters knows paddling and takes the time to share their knowledge with their customers. We were impressed with the integrity and friendliness of the entire staff. The education and guidance was well worth the 2 hour drive.Thank you.

This is a well run shop. All the staff have a passion for paddling and desire to share it with others. Our Boy scout Troop works with the shops merit badge councilor to get the Canoeing and Kayaking merit badges.I would highly recommend this shop for all your needs.
