If I could give half a star I would. They're very judgmental here I used to bank at f&m I found a wallet on the counter and picked it up and went out the door to go find the owner of it and he was gone. I mailed the wallet back to the man it costed me $9 to mail it back from lockeford to Clements. The man had a$6,000 check in it from his family trust everything was in his wallet nothing was spent nothing was missing and the store security accused me of stealing it and said they didn't know if the cops were looking for me or not but I broke the law because I stole this man's wallet.I didn't steal the wallet I picked it up I went out the door to go give it to the man but couldn't find him so I mailed it back it cost me money out of my own pocket to mail it back to him and they all look at me like I'm a thief when I didn't do anything wrong but actually do this man a favor

The only nice thing I can say about this store is that it’s NOT OPEN 24/7! Deli is hit or miss. Sometimes you get what you order, but half the time you get something different. Order French roll, get Dutch Crunch, order Turkey, get ham! Say NO mustard and only get…yep MUSTARD! And then there’s cleanliness! Management states it’s perfectly ok to let dogs run loose in the store, no leash, no control! No knowledge if the dog is vaccinated, wormed, fleas, ticks, and God forbid customer is allergic or gets BIT, or your child has been bit and now terrified! They just don’t ____ care! I LOVE dogs and I’m NOT talking about Service Dogs, I’m talking about pets who’s owner has no consideration for others or his own poor dog. Manager Vince says it’s ok as long as it’s “well behaved”! Clearly has no idea what “well behaved” means including well behaved customers! Never seen a dog with cash or credit card! PEOPLE keep them in business (or not) not dogs! Prices are twice as much as any other store! It’s just convenient but not focused on customer service! Better to drive further or visit the small markets in Clements! MUCH BETTER customer service at Walmart, SaveMart, Safeway!

We have been going here for 40 years for the Chinese food. They used to be awesome. The last several times over the last two years, it has been awful. Everything is way to salty. The broccoli is cooked to mush, the sweet and sour pork is so hard it is difficult to eat. So sad to see what it has become. Will not eat there again!

I was visiting the area back in November. My family lived in Lockeford for years and we always went to Payless Market. This trip I contacted Kathy in the chinese feli to see if I could take frozen eggrolls back to WA with me. She was awesome! Had them all packaged up and ready for me. She was wonderful and I truly thank her!

This place is great! Very clean and friendly staff.The Chinese food here is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! It is so delicious! And if you are lucky enough to have Beau assist you....what a gem he is! He gives the BEST and most efficient customer service you will ever experience! He is so kind. I highly recommend this store! Great sale prices too!I'm so glad I got to meet you Beau! ✨

Love tis place. Great meat counter, and better selection than most places. If you compare the quality of the meat and products to other stores, the prices are about the same. Harris ranch prime meat is worth the money. Not to mention....the Chinese food counter is awesome too!!

There is a delicious Chinese take out place in the back of the store! Need i say more? Also their butchers and meat department are absolutely top notch! They have a great and helpful crew and are one of the only stores that will offer to take your bags out to your car and load it for you! The prices are a bit high for certain things but its Lockeford for God's sake and when they do have sales they are worth it!

Have been shopping at Young's Payless for almost 30 years. Such a friendly place. Produce is always fresh, meat market is the best! We enjoy the Chinese food and the deli and bakery. Cashiers are helpful and everything is always clean. Prices are comprable to larger stores and I appreciate that they hire the local kids and give them good job training. Both of my sons got their first jobs there.

I enjoy the different brands including Harris Ranch Beef products along with their speciality rubs and marinades. The pharmacist is helpful and willing to step out to show you the best product for your condition. They have a Chinese food take out, bakery & deli with delicious sweets, sandwiches and salads. Great place to stop for picnic stuff if you're traveling up the hill. Don't waste gas driving up the hill to Amador County because you can find any varietal you'd like to taste at Young's. They have several picnic benches, serve coffee back by the deli all day. The Greeting Cards are fresh and funny and there are gift bags and bows for any present. Download Payless Market IGA app and keep abreast of sales, great shopping bargains and recipes. Can't say enough about how friendly the staff is.

Fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Meat counter is one of the best I have ever seen. They even allowed me to preorder 4 bone in ribeye steaks cut to 1 1/4 inch thick for a BBQ We are having on Saturday.

Kinda crazy that I buy a lot of meat from the meat counter and spend hundreds of dollars ther and then get screwed over last night. I paid $140 for prime rib and they seasoned it after I told them not to. Not happy about this. Husband said we will try it out with the seasoning. But if it makes me sick(if there’s msg in the seasonings) then they have a bigger problem on their hands.

Take out Chinese food was ok, but guess for a small town was fine. Groceries a little high in price, but not a bad selection. Overall it's a typical small grocery store type nice customer service.
