I should have posted this a while ago but forgot so a little late but...We wanted to buy our girls Guinea Pigs for Christmas. We saw some at PetSmart however they refused to let us pay for them while they held them for a day. They assured us they had plenty of stock and we would not be disappointed. Came Christmas eve they had all sold out! We called around and couldn't get a pair. We rang Village Pet Shop and Bob had two pigs left. It was almost closing time ON CHRISTMAS EVE yet Bob took pity on us and stayed open for 45 minutes until my husband got there to pick them up! He also gave us a bag of food that he did not charge for and heaps of good advise as we are first time Guinea Pig owners. Bob went above and beyond for us and was so friendly and a pleasure to deal with! I will not hesitate to recommend Village Pet Shop to anyone!

Love this mom and pop shop they most of the time have live black worms alot of shops don't have them so this spot comes in handy their fish collection is pretty good

I can't say anything about Village Petshop except how exceptional it is. If you need pet supplies, pet help, or a pet, nowhere in Livermore is better or more responsible. They have honest advice and supplies that the owner himself believes in. They also offer pet boarding. I've been coming here since I was a small kid and the owner, Bob, is someone I trust wholly.

great pet store! :) i came in to get hay for my bunny but honestly had a fun time just hanging around w/ their bird there. they even have a cheap lil antique section at the front of the store.

Best pet store in the area, love it! The owner is such a nice guy and very helpful. One of the few places that still sell live feeders and my snake won't eat them any other way.

This is my go-to spot for live mice for my pet snake. If I'm not short on time, I'll have a chat with the person who runs the place, Bob. He is super chill. I come here often enough, the lovely bird in back (pearl, I think), and allows me to hold her! Sometimes I forget why I'm there because I get distracted by her adorable "hello"s and "hi"s. Bob also has a small dog that roams the place, greeting customers, which is super cute!

Nice pet shop and antique shop, they have a good selection of fish, reptiles and birds. However, they get 5 stars for having the best door greeter their weiner dog.

Love love love!!! Bob is soooo nice, I’ve gotten so many pets here that are super healthy. He accommodates with overnight pet sitting ($5/night) and nail clipping ($5) for rodents. In the event you can’t keep a pet he will take them in if you can’t find a new home. Great little pet shop!

Good supply of foods and small pet mammals/reptile. Good prices on live food for snakes too. The aquariums are really dated and hard to see into, evidently not a focus point of care for the staff. Large red tail catfish in a 55g also was pretty disappointing to see as well as several other tanks with a lot of dead fish. Staff were very friendly and attentive, just needs some effort put into the fish section.

This place has a wide selection of fish at VERY reasonable prices that seem to come from knowledgeable breeders. Fish all seemed healthy and had excellent coloring. They also have a bunch of driftwood and rocks to choose from at cheaper prices than any store I've been to. Even though this place is about 45 minutes from me, I'll surely be back here often!

So much better than the other pet stores I went to. The workers were very friendly and jumped right in to help me out. The rats I got were very healthy and the workers were knowledgeable about their animals. You could tell that they were passionate about their job and wanted to make sure that their animals were going to good homes. I’ll be buying more rats from there soon🤗

This is a very friendly family run business that has been around for years. He is one of the only sources of feeder mice for my wife’s pet snakes in her classroom. The owner was helpful in finding new owners for some of her snakes when she had to get rid of them.

Love this shop.It's the pet store you wish you had as a kid. Dogs sniffing around, birds gazing at you uncaged, a tortoise pawing around on the ground. Even if you don't have pets, you will be entertained and enchanted by the fish, mice, snakes, lizards, birds and frogs. The shop owner, Bob is informative and kind. He will find the perfect pet for you or your curious child. Prices are extremely fair, and you can't beat the ambiance.

Very happy this store exists in Livermore. I go there for all my lizard needs. Very eclectic place with all sorts of random stuff in sale. And a nice little dog that walks around and sniffs your shoe.

Had a great selection of reptiles and mammals and lots of different food at a good price. Tanks were hard to see into and was a massive redtail stuck in a small tank. Other than that, it was a great place.

I love village pet. He knows his animals and just down right a nice person. Since moving to Pleasanton we haven't been in a few yrs but after going back a few days ago i realized how much i should take the time to go to Livermore. Great shop great service and awesome knowledge.

DO NOT PURCHASE FISH FROM THIS STORE!!!We went to buy some fish for one of our tanks to support a small local business. Their tanks are overcrowded.They had a common yellow betta fish marked as a higher priced "fancy betta" and when I tried to verify what type he thought the betta was because of the high price I was told "The yellow type." Ummm, their are many different types of bettas (plakats, half moon, etc) but none are called "yellow type".If my daughter had already not already chose "her" fish I would have left and taken her to another pet store.We are experienced aquarium owners and this shop made me ill to see how their fish were treated. Fish are more than just merchandise to sell.

Lots of merchandise and staff was nice but the whole reptile section hadn't been cleaned in a while judging by all the shedding in every cage. None of the animals had water and their scales looked beaten up. Rats were cramped in cages as well as mice but they were clean and had water. Snakes were not at all happy with such small cages for their size.

Best place ive ever gone, crickets and all the other animals are healthy and the store is very clean. Animals and staff are friendly. Animals are in good hands and Bob, the owner, is very nice and lets you hold any of the animals.
