Disappointed. I've been buying hay for years, this was the first time I was charged so much in tax. For 1 bale of hay I paid $30 because he decided to charge me 42% tax. Clearly, this man doesn't need my business because he already has a racket going with his existing clients. I will never shop here again. It's never a good feeling to feel like you got ripped off

I can't recommend this place enough. I am so thankful for Sean. He was kind, patient and very knowledgeable about chicks. Bay Area Hay and Feed was also organized and well stocked. He took the time on multiple occasions to describe the variety of chicks and surprisingly during the chick craze had chicks in stock. They are also vaccinated with Mereks! He was able to tell me which chicks would be coming the following weeks. I preordered some chicks and am excited to get them next week. Although this store is about 40 minutes from me, I will be a life long customer. Thank you!

I wish I could give less than a star. Sean wasn’t cordial or welcoming when we went to buy chicks last week. We being first time buyers expected Sean to help us choose, as per other reviews posted here. But our experience was opposite to what we saw here. He seemed to be upset with his helper as well!Will never go back!Kedar

I have gone here for years to purchase my chickens. Owner has always been friendly and very knowledgeable. Even explained which chickens would not work together in my flock. Was just great all around to work with.

Bay Area Hay and Feed was my go-to place when i lived in Livermore, as they always had great hay. I recently moved to the Valley and can't find anything that compares so i am stocking up. The owner is always pleasant and helpful. A great small business!

If I could give zero stars. I'm assuming I talked to the owner about some of his chickens that were visibly stressed due to heat and lack of water in the pens. I was told, "Go mind your own fuc*ing business." That was unexpected. As I walked out, I told him I would call Animal County Welfare, at which point he started yelling at me more and snapped photos of me and my car. This would be my last visit there as I don't feel it's safe.

Their animals had no food or water. Found dead pigeons laying in there coops, that had been there for days. Dreadful living conditions, needs to be shut down. We intended on buying hay, walked out disgusted. Wouldn't give them a dime, I'll stay with Concord feed!
