Heritage House more than delivered on luxury and atmosphere. The view of the Pacific from the hotel is incomparable. Hours were spent sipping wine and coffee from the swivel chairs watching the waves roll in. How relaxing & peaceful. We checked in for 3 days of paradise. The room was so big and comfy. We fell in love with the rain shower, fireplace, and plush king size bed. We enjoyed having a microwave and refrigerator in our room. The coffee machine was appreciated as well. The grounds were spectacular with many flowers in bloom. The gazebo allowed for picture perfect photos. We only wish we could have stayed longer.Rooms: Our room was carousel room 4. It was very spacious with a living room, huge bathroom including a tub and rain shower, and a large bedroom.Nearby activities: I would recommend a trip to the Botanical Gardens. The flowers are amazing as you stroll down to the ocean.

This is such a beautiful place to stay! Our room was lovely and very clean, the view was stunning and the property is so well and beautifully maintained. The staff was kind and accommodating. The restaurant food was delicious and we had an amazing dinner. We stayed here for our one year anniversary and I’d recommend it to anyone especially if you want a romantic getaway 😍

Yesterday I stopped by this amazing spot to check out one of the most picturesque spots on the coast. I’m lucky I’m so comfortable with my own company as it seems I’m stuck with me 😉. I hadn’t been here in a long time and after the experience, am kicking myself. The hospitality and professionalism of the staff was awesome. Everyone from the hotel attendant to the bar/restaurant staff all greeted me warmly and made sure I had all I needed. I wasn’t there to eat, but wish I did as their menu looks enticing and the specials even more so. I did choose to try two of their signature drinks, both hit the spot with my favorite being the Bartender Robin’s special creation Sour Waffles. I would do back just for it and I highly recommend it to all of you who partake. I look forward to the time I can get back….

Good location but poorly maintained. We stay at one of their larger homes in the back of the property and felt way short of what is shown in their website. Home had a old storage smell to it, furniture was basic and minimal. Bathrooms were outadated and probably why they do not show them. Not worth the price not even close. Beware, wish someone had written a review like this one to warn me. Disappointing.Rooms: Need to be upgraded eapecially the bathrooms.

Absolutely outstanding place to stay. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. We got lots of local recommendations and great service. I’ve never had a better hotel breakfast in my life. Everything was made fresh and delicious. My husband and I stayed for a long weekend I’m February. The room was lovely and had the most amazing view of the ocean. We were in a sunset ocean view room and I would definitely stay there again. Everything was clean, comfortable, and newly updated. The tub in the bathroom was huge and the water nice and hot. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked like it only had small plates for dinner but when we showed up they had main dishes not on the menu. All the food was fantastic and they had live music during dinner. The grounds were beautiful and we loved walking around. No one else was out, probably due to the time of year but it was sunny and warm. Overall a very romantic and relaxing weekend and we will definitely be back. I’m surprised by the bad reviews as we had the opposite experience.

I cannot begin to say how amazing this place is. The views! The beach! The heated floors! The waterfall shower! The food! The spa! The staff! Very dog friendly, which was great as we were traveling with a guide dog. They gave her a little baggie of treats, toys, and even a blanket for the dog to lie on. All amazing, best place we have ever stayed at and we absolutely plan to come back. Huge props to Duck who was a fountain of knowledge. Only request: get bigger robes for us big fellas

The view is amazing! Room is cozy and clean, with heated bathroom floors. The property has spa, gym, restaurant, and nice land to walk along the coast. They also have beach access. Plus they are super pet friendly! Everyone loves our pup.

Found the place by chance. Booked because I wanted to stay at a place with ocean views. The place did not disappoint. The views are amazing from every place of the property. The room we were had amazing views even from bed. Our room had some outdated pieces of furniture, it overall, it was nice, spacious, comfortable and with an updated bathroom. The bar at the resort had good cocktails and the food was good. The bar had live music which was a nice touch. We did not have breakfast, but it seems good. Walking around the property at any time is a must. At night, one will be able to see every star on the sky, it’s just magical. The place is near Mendocino plus many other options for hike and explore nature. Also 4 minutes away from Ledford House Restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Updating review: I had some issues with their event coordinator Emily Reno. Never returns your calls, disorganized, etc. It's a bit unfortunate, but wouldn't recommend this place to anyone planning an event.Original: Friendly people and the views are nice. But otherwise very overpriced. Not a ton to do in the area, and restaurants close early. Also, a bit disorganized.

Beautiful location and great people. “Duck” at the front desk has great recommendations for activities in the area and don’t forget to try the “Ducktini” at the bar. However, they enthusiastically shared that they had “world class” housekeeping but when we called the next morning for turn down service, they were “too busy” to provide housekeeping :(. The hotel is very dog friendly and has beautiful meadows for them to galavant around.

The room was very spacious and clean so I am giving the stars for that. The website is very misleading when booking. They make you think you’re going to have this romantic and luxurious view of the coast with a balcony/privacy - as we paid for such - but got a room on the ground with view of shrubbery and a PORCH that’s not private at all - is shared with the room next door, separated by some weird, cheap lattice. They do have a “private beach” but you better hope the others staying here don’t decide to visit at the same time you are since it’s very, very small. I got a few good shots of the beach and made the best of the stay anyways. For the price, THIS PLACE AINT IT - I canceled my stay here on my trip back through because it was such a disappointment.

The room was gorgeous. I checked in and the gentleman asked us why we had travel to the area. I told him it was for our 10 anniversary. He gave us a free bottle of champagne. We had a room with the tub and view and it was gorgeous, the tub was big enough for two!. The only knock was the bed. The mattress was about 3 inches thick. Looked more like a mattress topper than an actual mattress. It was still decently comfortable but a little odd. The grounds were so beautiful landscaped.

We had the best time at Heritage House! My family and I spent a quick 2 nights at this property and it was absolutely gorgeous. Mendocino downtown is approximately 10 mins by car. We loved waking up to the ocean in the mornings. The property is expansive and has amazing views. Our room was clean as well (we had a 2 queen beds room) and didn't find any faults as other reviews have mentioned. Also, I let them know it was my mother's birthday beforehand and they left her a birthday card and a bottle of sparkling wine in our room for her as we stepped into our room. She was so happy by the thoughtful touch! 10/10 recommend staying here, you'll have a wonderful time.

For $400 a night I expect more. For one, it would be nice to have some nice white, fluffy robes in the room. Secondly, it would be nice to have a room that looks like the pictures. My room was rather vacuous and definitely needed updating. thirdly, it would be nice to have water that was hot enough to have a nice hot bath. My water was not that hot. Fourthly, for the amount of money I paid for the steak, it would be nice to have one that I could slice. This was sooo tough. And really hard to slice with the flimsy plastic knife they gave me for the to go order. Give me a real silverware for gods sake. Do better Heritage House. I won’t be back. So disappointed.

I wanted to love this place and for almost $500 a night I should have! The 3 stars are for the view and the grounds. The room itself was old and shabby. Drapes frayed and with a big hole, worn furniture. Bed was a box spring with a 3 inch topper, so uncomfortable. View was great and you can hear the waves crashing. Unfortunately, no screen on the sliding glass door so we couldn't leave it open for too long as we kept getting fliesWould probably not stay here again.

What a wonderful getaway. Weekend of our anniversary was spent together with some of the best service I've ever received. I've been to many resorts across the nation and The Heritage house had some of the best hospitality. Zachery was very helpful and answered all of our questions. Nancy went above and beyond to help with a little surprise for my wife in our room. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The entire area around the resort is nice to take a walk and get some air. There is a spa on location that we got a massage at and were pleased. The food for breakfast was good and good portion for price. Great stay overall... Side note, Bob is a little grumpy when you ask questions.

My stay at Heritage House was good, but it could have been better for the price. The bedrooms are far apart, the kitchen was lacking on some basic necessities, and the shower was occasionally cold. The house was spacious and had a beautiful deck. My dog loved the goodie bag that was for him. Overall it was a nice stay, but could use some improvements. :^)

I cannot speak for the hotel itself, as I had to cancel. While I acknowledge that it is a non-refundable booking, I did my due diligence to call and let them know I could not make my reservation. The reservation "specialist" was SO rude. I first gave her my reservation number in which she told me "that's not it", as I was looking at it. She then asked me for my name (three times), and my email (twice). She went on to give me a schpeal about how it was "non refundable and I'd have to take it up with the front desk"... I know. I was simply giving you the courtesy!I was planning on rebooking in the fall, but after that experience I'll find somewhere else to stay along the beautiful shoreline.

1 star only because the views are amazing. But you can book at another place that’s better and cheaper for the same view.I booked the ocean view hot tub room. In the pictures it is a hot tub corner overlooking the ocean. When we arrived there was no hot tub. Just a tub in the restroom in the far back. Not overlooking the ocean. The sliding door was broken. It was being held shut by a wooden stick and the handle was completely off. The floors were so dirty. When I called about the hot tub they told me that room is not available because of construction and they didn’t even know about the door. Didn’t offer any kind of accommodation reimbursement or upgrade to a different room.I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s so expensive and not worth it. I should’ve listen to the reviews and book somewhere else.

Was there last night. They're recovering from the brutal lockdown. Believe they were closed for over two years. Adjusting very well. They're working hard on virtually everything (landscaping, rooms, etc). One of the best venues on the CA coast. Kitchen and bar were up and running. Had a great breakfast this morn with bloody marys. Hospitality was postive and professional. Room was amazing and what many on this site don't realize is that you get what you pay for. There's a wide range of rooms available and they describe them very well. The grounds were bar none the best, most spectacular all up and down the entire CA Hwy 1.

The BEST customer service & absolutely beautiful and charming property. Just gorgeous! If I could give 10 stars I would. I travel a lot. On an ad box vacation with my wife and booked a king room w/ ocean view last minute. Once here wanted to stay another night, maybe 2. Talked with Sarah B. Not only was that taken care of efficiently. It was Labor Day weekend and packed mind you. Was upgraded to the best room on the property with the most stunning view for even less money. Seals, whales, private beach, private cove, awesome! Not only that was introduced to the chef and lounge manager. Given not only the normal room service menu but another “special” menu with considerably more & new options, was arranged laundry service (which we definitely needed), arranged his/her spa packages when still fully booked, my room packed up and moved and every possible thing they could do to make this just a wonderful stay without having to even ask much less negotiate. I’m not saying this will be or can be true of every situation, only that they truly care and will certainly try. They have a customer for life! Thank you Sarah B, Sarah C, Karmin & everyone else! The best!

Simply AMAZING. The drive in was breathtaking. The rooms are huge. King size bed with ocean views. Heated floors in the bathrooms a plus. The balcony with the view is everything. Very picturesque. The food was AMAZING, very fresh and full of flavoring. Great for almost everything getaways and adventure. The private access to The Beach was a bonus. We will definitely be back. This surpassed our expectations. Great Anniversary trip.
