I had been on the road all day, reserved my room in advance, and when I arrived at the location, there was no parking, the lady at the front desk was short with me and dismissed my concern about parking. The room was small overly hot when I walked in. Someone had turned the wall heater up to high and the doors and windows must have been closed all day. The whole room was smaller than expected, but the bathroom was definitely uncomfortably small. Would definitely sleep in my jeep before I paid $200 to stay there again.

This is a convenient location near the intersection of 120, which leads into Yosemite, with highway 395. Be prepared for traffic noise, particularly in the rooms nearest 395. The mattress was good and some updates have been made--hopefully more will be made in the near future. If you like warm blankets you may wish to ask for them when you check in to supplement the thin cotton comforter. And you may wish to turn on the small wall heater as soon as you arrive, to allow a couple of hours for it to heat the room a bit. I hope the management invests in covered wastebaskets for the bathroom, as no t.p. is allowed in the toilets.

Was in town for work. After cooking in the sun all day it was time to relax and cool off. My room was 90 deg when I checked in and HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING. THIS IS BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. I was supposed to stay 2 nights. After the first unbearable nights sleep here I checked out the next day. Checkout is 11am I checked out at 9am and was told you will not be refunded the second night. Owner is sleezy and has no quams about stealing from customers. The company I work for is now suing them just on principle alone.Rooms: They only have a couple rooms with ac. The rest are unbearably hot. No microwave or fridge either.

Nice little motel, but already a bit old on the outside. Paint is coming down from everywhere on the shared deck. But it is totally fine for one night. The person was not very welcoming when we checked in. Hardly spoke with us. Seems like they are not interested in their customers. The door is not a real door just a balcony door where everyone can look into the room unless you put the curtains in front - no natural light then. And they do not feel very safe. Could have been broken in very easily

Im going to give this place five stars because of some of the comments i read...this place is literally 8 foot off the road so road noise should be expected... secondly, this is not the luxury Hilton, its at the base of Tioga pass , a road that was literally open for 3 months this year...i appreciate the convenience, small shops and eatery of this area

Very clean, spacious rooms. Excellent views of Mono Lake and the mountain range. Rooms look like they have been newly renovated. The ceiling are stained pine with beautiful knots, the walls are freshly painted and have quaint white wood paneling, beds are comfortable, and the porch has a lovely seating area to enjoy relaxing after a long day of hiking in Yosemite. Highly recommend! And just to clarify, rooms do have A/C.

Other than being a little pricy, this was way above expectations for a motor inn-type place. Room was big and clean, beds were comfortable and warm, and the check-in staff was pleasant. They had tea and coffee there, but we didn't partake. Views of the lake on one side and the Sierras on the other were fantastic, and the diner right across the street is fantastic, so a good deal.

Stayed June 12th - 16th in a lake view room. The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean, showers hot, and the beds were comfortable enough. My only recommendation for light sleepers is to bring earplugs, an eye mask and run the AC to drown out the noise of frequent semi-trucks passing by at all hours. The grocery store across the street has everything you need if you forget something, including a surprisingly great selection of craft beers in their walk-in. We enjoyed our first trip to Mono Lake, such an incredibly beautiful area with so many activities relatively nearby.

Amazing location and views. The room we had there was no ac so we had to keep all the windows and doors open and at the same time there was smoke from a fire so all night we were sleeping in the smoke filled room. Then right outside there were decks on both sides of us with people talking. The bathroom had no fan so we had to open the window which looked directly into the parking lot straight on where people were parked. Then to top it all off the internet connection didn't work in the room we had so overall it was a tough experience. Ac should be standard. Not at this place.

Pros: Nice rooms, clean and tidy. Decent view.Cons: But the small cooling units provided in the non AC rooms are a no-go. Insufficient cooling. For the same price, you can stay somewhere else nicer with better views. The front desk receptionist was nice over the phone, but quite rude and uninterested once we got there. Seems like they’re nice until the money’s taken. Kinda ruined the vibe of the trip and stay. I’d give it a one star but the rooms were decent.

Great room, do not hear the traffic from the busy road like other motels there. Spacious. Parking lot is a bit cramped especially for big vehicles/ SUV. Great outdoor community space to sit and enjoy your coffee or read your book.Rooms: Comfortable bed and spacious room. Hot water takes a while to warm up but overall you don't hear traffic noise. Only your neighbors walking.Nearby activities: June lake to check out, Bodie Ghost town to visit, Mammoth Lake, Mono Lake to check out the tufa. & Bridgeport to go see their museum.Safety: Quiet and safe to walk. Friendly people.Walkability: Everything is close by, the restaurant, mini grocery store, bar & grill. Shops for souvenirs. All walking distance.Food & drinks: The BBQ place is awesome. So is the Diner across the street.

Rooms are clean and bed was comfortable. That is where the good news stops. No refrigerator, the coffee was advertised as gourmet and was just run of the mill coffee packet to make your own. Parking spaces were very tight. The air conditioner was pathetic could not keep up, it was a swamp refrigerator not a conventional one. Overall, for the money I was very disappointed. Would never go back and would never recommend it.

Surprised how nice this place is. Thought since it was right on I-395 it would be noisy, but it wasn't at all. In fact, the "back porch" faces Mono Lake with a nice view and what you hear is the creek rushing along below. Room was very clean, comfortable bed, four pillows plus a roll and small square pillows. Nice mountain cabin feel with pine wainscoting and screen door, and cedar ceiling. WiFi very strong (room 3). Older building, true "motel" experience - this place was built when designers paid attention to the human-scale aesthetics like a covered back porch in the shade with a nice view, rather than a "checklist of amenities" like new places do. Still, it had everything, and had been nicely remodeled without losing it's charm. Only spent one night here but enjoyed it.

The room and view was lovely but the old man who manages this place is truly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered at any hotel or motel, and I travel quite a bit. He came out huffing and puffing around 9pm on a Saturday night while we were quietly having dinner on the balcony, apparently due to noise (even though my wife and I were being very quiet). Then, the next morning he literally said to us "You need to leave now. LEAVE." in the rudest way possible, when we were no more than 15 minutes late packing up our car past the 11am check out time. Housekeeping seemed lovely, and a really great room, just avoid this extremely grumpy and unhappy manager at all costs!

The location is great. The vibe of the place is relaxed for the most part. The staff can be a bit unfriendly, so avoid them if you can. The only real downside of this place was the lack of a/c in the rooms. They had portable units that didn’t help to cool the room at all. For the price, I would think that they would upgrade their rooms or a/c units.

What a fantastic motel, an unexpected surprise in such a small town! We stayed at this hotel after a long day in Yosemite and we were so pleased with our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean, the employees were kind, and the motel was quiet. Our room overlooked a rushing river and beautiful Mono Lake beyond. If you happen to be staying over the weekend, we highly recommend the Volcano Tour, given at 10am on Saturdays and Sundays at Panum Crater at the south end of Mono Lake. Also, if you are looking for a terrific meal, stop at Epic Cafe, a stone's throw from the motel on the other side of 395. The food is absolutely delicious!

Cons- "Do not flush toilet paper" sign on the restroom", shared balcony (people walking by), stick holds up the window, rubber barrier on bed, no microwave, frig or a/c, $200 a nightPros- Close to Yosemite, friendly staff, clean, sunrise views, Direct TV, wifi, cell serviceNearby activities: 20 minutes to YosemiteWalkability: Across the street: 2 restaurants, Cafe, and mini-martNoteworthy details: Shared balconies, no a/c

Clean, comfortable, cozy and a relaxing stay. Local cafe across the street for a quick breakfast after your relaxing night's sleep. No complaints. Definitely a fair price. Front office staff is friendly as well! Definitely would recommend and we will be back!Heads up though: bring snacks if you're planning on arriving late. Not many nearby stores to grab a bite or snack after dark, but given its location and small town vibes, that's understandable!

Very expensive for it being a rundown extremely outdated motel. Window screens were falling off windows. Had an actual key for room (very outdated). Room walls, floors, shower, etc were not clean. No AC. Bed was ok. TV was set so you could only turn up volume to a level that there could be no other noise to hear it. (I do not have bad hearing). With that being said, there are very few places to stay. From what I saw none of the places looked maintained.

The room is clean but dated, in an interesting way though. Main downside to the hotel is a lack of air conditioning, so keep that in mind if the temperatures reach triple digits. Staff is friendly, but parking can be limited at times when sold out. Back porch view on some rooms is nice and provides a shaded spot to take a break.

We selected this motel because of the location to the east entrance to Yosemite. Our family was very pleased with the accommodations. The room (it had only the bare necessities, but an ice machine was available) was clean, our check in was smooth and there were 2 places to eat across the street. Additionally, we left an item in the room and we contacted them via email (our cell phone service in Yosemite was not good, so our attempts at calling were not successful). They had found the item and actually mailed it to us at their expense! It was a small item, but I was certainly prepared to pay the postage! We would recommend this motel for their cleanliness and for their integrity.

False advertisement! The “2-bedroom deluxe family suite” is only 1 bedroom with a sofa in the living room!! If I had known their second room is just a very small livingroom, I would have booked 2 smaller rooms!! I travel with my in-laws and it was extremely uncomfortable. After you put down the sofa bed, there’s barely any room to walk, so if I am taking a nap, my in-laws can’t go into the room unless they roll over my bed. There was no sheets, blanket, or pillows for the sofa bed. It also smells bad. The door is also very hard to lock. Every time we go out we have to wiggle around quite a while before we can lock it. Overall it was the most disappointing experience I’ve had in a while.

Great views of the lake, easy parking and great price. The front desk could definitely be more friendly and the hot water takes about 10-15 min to actually come on, which is an extremely long amount of time and was pretty irritating. But the beds were comfy and clean and it was safe and quiet, which is the most important part.

We liked this place. It was funky but clean and we had a great view.We stayed in room 4 which had a shared back porch. Knotty pine ceilings, remodeled bathroom. The back porch has chicken wire and peeling paint but we didn’t mind. Host seemed disinterested in being a host, but again we didn’t mind. We would come back.

The room assigned to us was nice except for one vital factor: the little swamp cooling unit was not sufficient to cool it down, making sleep very difficult. In fact, we resorted to having the back window open all night long to draw in some cool air, which of course is a security hazard. $239 is an exorbitant price for a poor night's sleep.
