We drove from Sonora through Sonora Pass to stop at Whoa Nellie Deli for lunch. We ordered a cheeseburger with bacon with a side of potato salad and a chiliburger with a side of fries. It came out about 5 minutes later. Very tasty. I think I like the potato salad better although the fries were pretty good. The burgers were well made with the proper lettuce, tomato and onions. Service is friendly. This deli is inside a gas station service center and a Yosemite-themed souvenir shop.

A friend told about this spot. Saying we wouldn't believe how a great place to eat would be at a gas station. He was not wrong. The food was terrific and we sat outside overlooking Mono Lake with blue skies and a perfect place for your canine companions to join you in some excellent chow time prior to driving up to enter Yosemite. A great stop especially after mid-morning kayaking in June Lake on way up. The June Lake Loop is a must as well. Photo of June Lake and then at our stop at this Deli, the view of Mono Lake from a picnic bench.

If you pass through Lee Vining you absolutely have to stop here. Amazing food! We found this back in 2011 when coming over the Tioga Pass, loved it then, love it now. I had the taquitos, I was surprised to see that it came with a nice salad and house made mango salsa. My wife couldn’t decide between two carnitas tacos or two fish tacos, they said “how about one of each?” Great food, so many things to try. Fast service, too. If I had to choose on dish, the fish tacos were best. As a bonus, gasoline was a dollar cheaper per gallon here as compared to prices in town

We have been coming to Who’s Nellie Deli fir years. We usually come for dinner, order dinner eat outside and listen to a band playing. I’m not sure if they still have bands that play there, it may have stopped during COVID. The food is good, a little costly. They have a great store with food items, gifts, deli, beverages, clothing etc. It’s clean and the staff is friendly. W

This place is awesome. Gas is cheaper than surrounding area. Food is amazing. We got the fish tacos and a cheeseburger, pricey yes but so worth it. Also if your in an rv and need to dump $10 and nice facility.

FANTASTIC! Best gas station food I’ve ever had. One of the best steak Caesar salad’s I’ve enjoyed - hands down. The marinade they use is so good and the meat is so tender. Also yummy fish tacos & taquitos. So good we had to come back again on the way out of Yosemite! Great views too.

Don't miss this place as you cruise along 395. It's not very visible from the hwy but just a block up the Tioga road. Great food. Clean, comfortable, seating inside and out. Attached store for souvenirs and essentials for the road.

Must stop! We made the drive from the Bay to Mammoth and a lot of places along the route close at 7 p.m. We found this place and are SO happy we waited to eat here instead of some of the other places we passed. This isn't really a deli, it's an amazing gem of a restaurant that is serving up quality and beautiful food that you wait hours for on the weekend in the Bay. The fish tacos are fresh, huge, and not greasy. The BBQ chicken sandwich is a massive chicken breast with a cranberry bbq sauce. And the fries, yaaasssss! They were PERFECT. Anytime I'm in the area hungry this will be the place I will recommend we go to.

Great food and the portion is good as well. I ordered the house specials, baby back ribs, tacos and ahi sashimi. We’re still in the midst of our meal and the old guy came and taking our ahi sashimi plate. I told him that we’re only half way of our meal, he said because they need the plate for the sashimi for the next order. We rushed to eat the sashimi just to give the plate for them to use. Asian salad taste really good.

Eh, it was ok. Did not come close to living up to all the hype about it. We were going to grab some dinner here, but the prices were truly outrageous. Especially for being in a gas station. Instead of dinner we opted for a piece of cake to go. It was $10 freaking dollars, for a single slice of carrot cake! It was decently tasting cake, but not worth the money we shelled out for it. Very disappointing and will not go back. This place is definitely taking advantage of their location and of tourists on their way to Yosemite. Only pic we took was of the atrocious gas prices! smdh

Stopped here on our way home from Nevada. It's a very beautiful view! The food was pretty good. The burger I had tasted a little under seasoned. But I was very impressed with how clean it was. After we finished our meal outside on one of the picnic tables someone came out and wiped it down along with all the other tables! (Just nice to see they keep it clean and sanitary) there was a nice little cherry stand in the parking lot as well! Delicious cherries. Also the carrot cake is delicious!

The best food you will find at a Mobile station. I had the famous fish tacos ,two large pieces of some mild tasty fish, on corn tortillas, one with onion, slaw, sour cream. One with mango & chopped onion. Beans & rice on the side $ 18,excellent.

We were told this was THE place to go to get good eats when in Lee Vining so we went. First off, it’s very expensive. $14 for a hamburger? It was good and, surprisingly, it was cooked medium rare, which I like. However, no one asked how I liked it cooked. Fries were lukewarm so I asked for hotter ones. They cooked them up right then and brought them out. My wife had the bison meatloaf for $25 !! She said there was gristle in it. Yuk. Nice folks and decent outdoor seating but way too expensive for a “deli”.

It's not a gas station. It's a destination. Where adventurers meet to embark on expeditions that books are written about. Also featuring great swag, stickers, food, and overpriced groceries and gas. Occasionally has live music and previously had an outdoor trapeze act.I suggest the tacos and ribs. They can be the best thing ever eaten after 8 days in the backcountry. There is potable water available and a 24 hour restroom.

For those in the know this is a "must" stop for meal. Disguised as a Mobile gas station and just called the "Mobile" by the locals. It is a gastronomic delight without any pretentious trappings. We always stop if it is anywhere close to meal time. With Tioga pass being closed the normally busy establishment was practically empty. But just half a minute off of 395 is well worth the effort. The vegetarian chili and cornbread were delicious!

I really liked this place. It is located side of the Mobile on a scenic spot along the 395. They have a nice outdoor seating area with good views. I got the breakfast burrito which was very tasty.

Great food and atmosphere! The tacos with both salsas were amazing as well as the carrot cake! My boyfriend really enjoyed the cheeseburger! I wish I had gotten the margarita...next time! Love this hidden gem! The only thing I would change is they still use stirafoam, please switch to recyclable!

I always enjoy visiting the Whoa Nellie Deli when passing through Lee Vining. Breakfast, lunch or dinner you cannot go wrong with their menu. Everything is always delicious whether it's pancakes, a sandwich, or a burger. The staff is always friendly and efficient! Your order is prepared quickly and deliciously!Careful with the 1/2 pound Angus burgers, they are huge and very filling! Yum!Update:Okay, I cannot stay away! Stopped by again last night for dinner on the way home and ordered BBQ baby back ribs while my dad got the BBQ chicken sandwich. Wow! Absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! Ribs were awesome as was the mashed potatoes! Veggies were nice and crisp! Pair your ribs with the Mountain Rambler blonde ale!The chicken sandwich was moist and very tasty. Go for the potato salad as a side, you will NOT be disappointed! You really MUST try the Whoa Nellie Deli when you come through town!

Very Cute tourists type place. Our family stopped for the gas and food. There are lots of things you can buy. My husband enjoyed the hamburger. The cooks forgot the bacon, they were not very nice when I informed them. I would call it a rude awkward response followed by a mumbled bantering between them, than my food given back to me with a crook's smile. The lobster taquitos looked better than they taste. Microwaved soggy, seafood stuffing in the middle with pretty lettuce. I didn't see nor taste lobster. It's priced high for what you get.. it's all fluff. Get the hamburger 🍔! Loved the trucker hats!! 💋

Pleasant rest stop and deli with good freshly prepared food. Both the sashimi dish and the shredded porc tacos were excellent. Good seating area outside if weather is permitting.

This place is pretty cool! Today for breakfast, I bought a ham & cheese croissant. It came in a plate and the croissant was big. I took out some ham and saved it for later. You can buy souvenirs here and crystals! I saw some geodes too. There was this 'perfect coin' machine that I saw, but I didn't know how to use it.
