This place is actually a very nice place overall not to many crazy things especially for a place 90 years in business. It's got a decent amount of space but the ice machine not working and the toilet running on night was the only reason not making it an amazing stay. Keep in mind if your staying her for Yosemite. You can only access it close by from July-October realistically. As hwy 120 is usually closed due to snowNearby activities: Mono lake. MT. Dana, June lakes

Two days prior the check-in date I received an email requesting me to call the hotel and tell them my credit card (otherwise my booking may be cancelled). This is weird and very inconvenient. The tap in my room was broken and there were ants. Livable but not up to the price.

Injured due to poor maintenance. Spent the afternoon at Mono Lake and stayed here afterwards and left the next morning. Nice and clean with a great little store next door. There were 3 thermostats in the room but none helped to turn off the heat. Some road noise from the 395. Unfortunately, I ripped the bottom of my foot open on a protruding nail in the floor. The wound is about 1/2 inch in diameter. Contacted the Lodge and they told me they have fixed the floor. It's their 90th anniversary so be forwarned.

Staying at this hotel was like stepping back in time to the Wild West during the California Gold Rush. The musky smell in the room could easily have been mistaken for the scent of a saloon that had seen one too many bar brawls. And those old, worn sheets? They might as well have been part of a prospector's bedding in the 1850s, with stories to tell of gold nuggets and ghostly apparitions. If you're seeking an authentic Gold Rush experience with all the ambiance of a bygone era, this hotel might just be your ticket to the past. However, if you're more inclined to enjoy modern comforts and clean linens, you might want to mosey on down to a different establishment.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay in one of the miniature cabins. Comfy, clean rooms. We had initially planned on staying three nights to visit Yosemite, but the pass into the park from Lee Vining was still closed when we visited. It's too bad, because we were looking forward to using the charming kitchenette to make meals for ourselves to cut down on travel costs.

My friend and I stayed here in October as freshman undergrad physics students to go backpacking at Yosemite and it was great! We even saw the eclipse - especially cool as Astro enthusiasts :D The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable with freshly laundered sheets and access to wifi. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice as well, notifying us about when her shift ends so we’d know her availability incase we needed to speak to somebody. Overall had a great experience, thank you Lake View Lodge!

We broke down and had to stay the night. It was WAY overpriced, but gave us a safe place to wait it out.Bedspreads need to be washed. Funky stains. Wore socks on the carpet just in case. Clean overall. Helpful staff. Very pretty setting in front courtyard. Airco was freaking amazing!

The rooms are super clean and very comfortable. We have a little kitchen in our room and it is very well stocked with everything we may need. A small little breakfast table with a full-size coffee maker. The bathroom is good size, and the shower and water pressure are awesome. The staff that we have talked with have all been very professional and kind. I would recommend staying here even if your destination is Mammoth or June. This place is great!

53 years born, raised and only living in California and I have never been here. I will be back. Stephanie provides great service on the phone to reassure you they are there for you. The gal at night was nice but not nearly as accommodating but she was still nice. The local businesses that are open are AMAZING and so considerate as well as informative. I can't wait to come back in the spring or early summer. To those coming up to take the 120 to Yosemite. The pass is closed until the snow melts enough for the to get the plows through. They estimate June or July.

Expensive, strangely remodeled. We stayed here on our way from LA to central Oregon for pre-season birdwatching and hiking. The room was clean, the king bed was comfortable, and off-season with Tioga Pass closed, it was quiet. Our room had been recently remodeled, with decent quality materials, but with NBA basketball players in mind. The sinks were at mid-chest height (what?!?), with faucets almost out of reach.

Expensive place to stay, but the location is great that has easy access to Tiago Pass of Yosemite National Park. But, this road only opens during the summer time. Also, so close to Mono Lake.We stayed only for one night and left in the morning. The room size good and bedsheets and duvets were not clean enough. The small restaurant and market are in the area. For check-out, you need to leave the key to the phone box.

The manager and owner of the hotel was very rude and hung up on me. I was arguing with her and trying to get a refund for my booking. I booked through Priceline which suggested the hotel to be close to Yesemeti National park 15 miles away. When i wanted to leave the National park, the hotel was 6 hours away due to road closure. The manager and owner of the hotel suggested i should have known that although i told her i am a tourist and not aware of the roads and Priceline did not mention that. And i tried to cancel the booking within 24 hours.I ended up not going and told her i am not coming to the hotel it does not make any sense and she insisted not to refund me and hung up on me.

A nice place to stay when visiting Yosemite National Park. They also have a cafe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We enjoyed our breakfast before going hiking.Walkability: A convenience store and 2 restaurants are next door.

The room was very clean but incredibly overpriced. It was a large, well appointed room but the AC was very difficult to use. It kept turning off, no matter what setting it was on and the room would become very hot, very quickly. The bed was too soft and sagged a bit in the middle which gave me a terrible backache. My son traded beds with me but that bed was saggy as well. The pillows were completely flat. I only slept about 3 good hours and spent the rest of the night tossing and turning trying to get comfortable, then getting up to fiddle with the air conditioner because it was too hot in the room.It was really difficult to pull the handles to turn on the water and then it splattered everywhere when it finally worked! The numbers on the doors were difficult to see at night and my son had to walk around looking for our room since there were no lights. We checked in around 10 pm and check out was 10am. I asked for an hour later checkout and was told no. So for a 12 hour stay this cost over $220 and that was after a discount for being a veteran. I guess since all the other motels were either closed or full this one could charge whatever they wanted. Rather than risk driving down the mountain on an unfamiliar road, in the dark and while tired, desperate people will pay what they have to in order to stay safe. But it isn't right...

Way to much expensive for what it is.200$ for a room with no breakfast included.People are mentioning that rooms in this hotel are clean but please, it is a minimum required for an hotel with this kind of price !It is not a motel. You better find something more affordable somewhere else. Book in advance there is no signal nearby the national park

We needed something close to Mammoth lakes, but everything was taken. So we were lucky to book this hotel because it's close enough to the ski resort. I am giving it 3 stars because, though it needs some major renovation, our room was neat and spacious. Now, we couldn't lock our door properly, even after we told management about it. The faucets were so hard to turn on that it hurt to try; the heater was too loud and needed to be shut down before sleep, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything happening in the room above ours. We didn't turn on the TV because we would just get there to sleep. Also, bring your charger with you because there is no USB charging entry.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL in Lee Vining. They have a misleading cancellation policy that charges you a fee of $25 even if you cancel your reservation 30 days prior, or even 360 days prior. It is under very poor and unscrupulous management. They won't even answer their telephone to receive calls.Their unethical practices should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

This was my 2nd visit there. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There is a small cafe located on grounds with some great desserts. I've stayed in the small studio/1 bedroom cabins. They are very cute. Small but enough space to enjoy your stay. We recently stayed in the 2 bedroom cabins. The bedrooms seemed outdated and everything seemed old. The floor in the corner dipped down when you walked on it and you dare not stand on it lest you fall through. But overall, everything was clean and fine.

We got so lucky! Last room available coming out of Yosemite National Park with a parking space right in front. The two-bed room itself was very clean and spacious. We figured they were saving the last room for anyone with a disability or wheelchair because of the numerous mirrors and space under the sinks (there were 2). There's a cafe right within walking distance with pretty good food. There's a great view of the sunrise out front as well. Would love to book this place again!

Stayed at one of the 4 cabins facing the lake. How many hotels are there with nobody but star filled night sky and panoramic view of the wilderness out of the window? The bath was also great with good amount of hot water flow. Everything was great until bed time. All the sheets and pillows were polyester and very smelly full of body odors. The neighbor El mono hotel had much cleaner and cotton bedding. If I can bring my own sheets I will stay next time.

Stayed here for few days. Rooms were nice and clean. Definitely worth the money. Its located right in front of the mono lake. Beautiful location. There is a nice restaurant right in its compound which is a big plus. This lodge is located on east side of Yosemite Valley which I think has a more beautiful landscape. However, if you are planning to go to Yosemite national park it's a good 2 hour drive.

This hotel was very close to the Tioga Pass entrance of Yosemite, which was very convenient. The rooms were big and spacious, and there were even doubles which was perfect for my group. Amenities included microwave, fridge, fan, AC, cable TV. This hotel is also right next to a market which was great for some quick morning food staples.
