I love this place I got my previous Labrador from PetsN and Pals and she was the best dog ever. She passed away with cancer and they happened to have this beautiful, golden retriever named Daisy and I am a big Disney Vacation Club member and she will fit right in with a family. She’s just they treat their animals there so well they’re so kind and it’s so clean I was an animal I would want to live there. These people have such a big heart and had to place the right animal with the right person.Thank you, Pets and Pals for our wonderful new dog. Miss Daisy.

We adopted a Husky puppy back in February. Exceptionally clean environment, healthy/happy looking dogs and professional staff.We were not first time high-energy-dog owners, but even knowing that, the staff didn't skimp on cautionary information about the breed, advice, and offered to answer any questions we had.

David was nice, he let me in through the gate. He lead me into the back w my two calico kittens to see if my kitten will inter act with the other cats and workers. It was a thumbs up. They kept the kittens And took me inside the office. Customer service was nice. And all Facility was nice and all in all Pets & Pals areas seemed to be kept up & clean.

Great adoption experience! Patient with all my questions about bringing in a new second kitty to the household. (And I had lots of concerns and questions). This facility is very clean and lovely set up for dogs as well as cats.

I adopted my sweet yorkie mix from Pets n Pals in Lathrop. They took care of her spay and umbilical hernia surgery, puppy and rabies shots. They made a great match choosing me to adopt her. We spoil each other rotten!! Thank you Pets n Pals!

If you are looking for a new companion, this is the place to find them! We absolutely adore our Maximus! He is such a ham 😍 Well behaved, trained and a huge personality.The facility is clean, the animals are WELL taken care of, the staff is friendly and the kennels are spacious and have heated floors.We could not have chosen a better place to find our new forever friend. We recently adopted Rover from Pets and Pals and had a wonderful experience. We appreciated their thoughtful vetting process. We went to meet Rover knowing he couldn't come home for a week because he had to be neutered. But we knew he was the dog for us, adopted him, and came back to pick him up a week later when he was ready. He is already an amazing addition to our family. We are so grateful to Pets and Pals for taking him (and the other dogs and cats) in and giving them the care they deserve until they find their forever home!

We had a wonderful experience adopting Anika (now Maggie). They are professional and seem to truly care about the animals in the facility. I have read the reviews here and find it interesting that people are mad they have a thorough screening process. We think it is great and it is one reason we wanted to adopt through them. They aren't just looking to off-load dogs, they want them to find forever homes that are a good fit for both the adopting family and the pet.

We are so grateful to Pets & Pals for taking these two kittens that we found on February 5th during the rain storm. The staff are so nice, especially David, who walked us through the process. Hopefully, the two kittens and other cats and dogs inside the shelter will find their forever home.🙏

My partner and I adopted a black lab mix from pets and pals named Ranger. We changed his name to Gustav. Gus for short. Pets and Pals were fantastic! They spay/neuter pets before adopting out and start vaccinations depending on what's age appropriate. They microchip all their pets and provide all the necessary medical paperwork. They worked hard to get Gus out of his shell and were upfront about him needing a boost of reassurance to give him the confidence to be ok just being himself. Thank you for preparing him to become part of our family ❤️🐾🐕

Pets & Pals Animal Shelter was wonderful to work with. We applied for our puppy online and they called us right away. They contacted our vet to verify our pet care history before scheduling a visit with us. We were able to schedule a visit for the following day. When we visited, we met our puppy in the outside in the greeting area. Everyone was socially distanced and following COVID protocols. The facility was clean and the dogs had lots of open space in which to playOur puppy was not yet ready to go home because he still needed to be neutered. We returned the following week to pick him up. When we picked him up, Pets and Pals provided us with his medical records as well as a large bag of puppy food, a set of poop bags, a few toys, and a blanket to help him feel comfortable in his new home.I highly recommend Pets & Pals Animal Shelter.

We adopted Coby (now Sacha) from here this week. The facility is clean and the staff were very friendly. The adoption process is efficient. We visited Coby last Thursday and picked him up after his neutering surgery this Tuesday. We were in and out for the adoption in less than 30 minutes. They also provided food and toys when we picked Sacha up. :D

Pets and Pals is a world apart from a county shelter; -- clean, heated floors, large living spaces and a large caring staff. Could not be happier with the Shepherd mix puppy we adopted; having been loved and well cared for at the shelter, she easily adjusted into our home and is a joy to our family.

This place doesn’t deserve to be operating. How do you lock the door, lock the gate. Make someone fill out something online then decline them.They have the worst people trying to do their screening literally blocking families from being able to adopt a puppy.It shouldn’t be so hard to save a puppy and love them and take them home.I’m a military veteran and we own a home not having a prior dog and vet being a requirement is absurd!

Our son's and I visited the Pets & Pals Animal Shelter on Thursday 1/ 30/2020 to preview and meet George. George is a 10-11 month old German Shepherd and Labrador mix. Upon arrival, we were amazed at the cleanliness of the entire shelter area and very impressed with the kennel sizes and the designated play area's for the dogs to enjoy time with their pawed shelter mates. The entire staff was top notch and friendly too.We returned yesterday, Saturday 2/1/2020 with my wife. This would be her first introduction to our perspective addition to our family and home. Needless to say, my wife and George bonded quite quickly. We were previously approved for adoption due to our adoption application being submitted earlier in the week. The adoption process moved along quickly and we were soon on our way back to Livermore with our new doggie!We call him Maverick and he eagerly responds to the name. Day 1, night 1 and day 2 have been wonderful. He's acclimating quite quickly and we are so happy that he rescued us!I recommend Pets & Pals Animal Shelter with the highest of marks. John (I hope that I have his name correct) assisted us on both visits and it was enjoyable to hold "dog talk" with him.Please, if you're considering a pet, please visit the wonderful staff at Pet & Pals Animal Shelter.

I tried to see the dogs I'm very interested in adopting because my 15yr old chihuahua past due to heart disease and they would not even let me in said I had to make an appointment to look a dog I can not choose by picture I think we would have to pick each other sadly I walked away .

no better than a puppy mill. They do not make sure dogs are healthy. Vet clearly stated it was an obvious issue with the dog and the shelter did NOTHING. Now were stuck with 4,000 in vet bills! Adopt somewhere else! do not get scammed!

We recently adopted a 4 month old puppy from Pets & Pals and had such a great experience! The staff was super helpful in answering all our questions about our new family member and was forthcoming with any details they could provide on our puppy’s previous living situation. It can be a little challenging adopting a new dog if you already have existing dogs but Pets & Pals was extremely accommodating, made sure we were able to introduce all dogs appropriately and made us feel comfortable making the decision to add a new member to our pack. You can tell they truly care about the animals they care for and want what’s best for them. We’ve adopted dogs from other shelters and this one by far stands out!

I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since I adopted my Gemma. Pets and Pals were great to work with and I was really impressed by how clean the shelter was and the caring staff. The man who brought Gemma to meet me was so good with her and answered all my questions.I think they do a great job with their application process. Not all home situations are good fits for every dog and they show a lot of care in making sure a pet doesn’t end up in a situation where it will end up back to be rehomed.Thank you so much for taking such good care of my girl before we met. She’s loved beyond measure.

One of the best shelters I’ve seen1. The grounds are so nice and spacious, the kennels looked well kept , the cats have a large outdoor enclosure , dogs have several dog run areas which are very large .2. The animals all look happy and healthy3. All questions were answered by extremely helpful employees there .We got our dog buddy one month ago from them,we have said so many times we hit the lotto with him because how much of a good boy he is, he gets along with our other dog so well , and our children. Very bonded to our children . He adjusted extremely well. From talking over the phone putting my application in , the meet and greet , the actual adoption , and taking him home was so nice , everyone was so kind . We don’t live in the area but have recommended this shelter to so many of our friends and family to take the small drive over to pets n pals ! When the time comes to add another addition to our family this is the place we will look . Thank you guys

we just got our pup from here on 12/31. we had a good experience. we've been putting in apps in lots of places and this was the furthest we've gotten. we got to meet her and we talked with one of the caretakers. everyone was kind and respectful and answered our questions. when we picked her up they supplied us with all of her paperwork and a baggy of kibble so we can ween her off what the shelter was feeding her onto what we planned to feed her. I've had good luck contacting them by phone and email. when we're ready for another pup we would come back.the facility is large and clean. we liked the center area when you first come in. then there was a large green area in the back. then a smaller green area behind the offices to meet and greet your pup. it looks like a good place for the animals.

I applied for a dog here, and was pretty shocked at the questions asked when they called me. They looked up my address and saw that it was for sale, which was an issue. They accused me of living with my parents because they didn't believe that I am a home owner at 23. If they want to play investigator, they should lookup the owner too. I eventually had to tell the lady that I don't have either of my parents, I support myself, and I am buying a new home (which is why my current one is for sale). I understand that they are protective over the animals, but the conversation I had with their staff didn't sit well with me. I would not be applying for a dog and willing to pay a $300 adoption fee if I weren't able to care for it.

My wife and I were looking to adopt a dog for a long time and the endless applications were met with no response until we applied for a dog at Pets and Pals! We were able to quickly set up a visit that week to meet a dog! We had a meet and greet visit and put down a deposit to secure our new furry friend. He was new to the shelter and had to be neutered still, so we had to wait about a month to bring him home. We were both really happy with the communication we received from Pets and Pals and highly recommend them! The dogs have a ton of space to play, etc while they are there and are well cared for.They even gave us a collar, leash, dog bed and bag of dog food when we picked him up. Go get your next furry friend here!

Please don't adopt from this shelter. Knowing gave us a dog that needs thousands of dollars worth of vet bills just days after adoption. Refuses to help. Laughs at us when we beg for them to make this right. they should not have adopted put this dog and we love her too much not to do anything.

We adopted the love of my life, Andy, (The Staff called him Singleton) a year ago on December 18th, 2020. We were very impressed with the facility. It was very clean, the staff caring and friendly. They seemed meticulous about the adoption process and invested in making sure the animals are matched well with their new family.Our (My) little guy just turned a year and I love him more every day. We will adopt again from them and only them.
