The first thing right off the back when you walk into the store is a smell animal feces. The reptiles are kept in very poor conditions multiple reptiles to one tank. Some snakes even kept little food containers. The reptile enclosures are very poor and bad and look like they just threw a bunch of stuff into tank and said “that’s good”. These people clearly don’t care about taking care of the animals or the animals well Being

Great staff with lots of knowledge, owner comes in often as well. Beautiful animals with a small and decent selection of decor and tanks. Good options of feeder insects. Great experience overall every time I go in and they’re always happy to give me any advice about my own personal reptile whenever needed!

Great store great atmosphere great boarding experience great prices just had another recent visit there's some very happy and healthy animals in here there's some exotic animals with great prices also in here seen a blue tongue skink made me more fascinated deals on bearded dragons love the way they give you services insights on animals knowledge on how to take care and cater to your animals needs.there couldn't be a better local place to get what you need at a great value price with the staff everyone loves

Drove to Lancaster from Barstow after seeing them at the Victorville expo, because they have beautiful snakes. We were so disappointed! The place was extremely dirty, spider webs everywhere. You could tell these poor animals haven’t had any TLC in a very long time, some of them looked like they were dying. The plastic containers you see them in at the expo that’s the containers they were in, they can’t even move. I am so surprised they are still open due to the conditions. They need to sell or give those animals to shelters or people that will actually care for them.

I've been going to Tails2scales for years and they've always been super knowledgeable about their pets and super helpful, I love shopping at this pet shop, I'd rather give these guys my money than go anywhere else for most of my pet purchases 😊 I'll be going back extremely soon to purchase my beardie baby 😁

I love this shop there super reasonable and really helped me with everything I got a rat and they informed me that she might get sniffles from perfume or strong smells which was nice to know they gave me a good cage for 15 bucks for her they helped me look around for a cage for temporary and it was super nice I love this place they are helpful and have all you need.

I luck down here I have a pet snake and they have live feeder mice and ranch. This is a really nice mostly reptile store but they do have other items. Dog food and I saw a birds and fish as well. Coy and a nice big pond with some orange neck turtles. Very professional very nicely set out for a small place in the parking was right in front. Highly recommended.

If I could give them no stars I would. They have a poor sulcata tortoise that is in horrible shape. It's in an old fish tank. No uva/uvb lights, no heating lamp, no thing.

The best experience I had going to any pet shop I only really get reptiles and they know everything I asked I got the best customer service along with what’s exotic that they have. I truly wanna say thank u to Ron and Sarah the owners for able to give me a chance to learn and grow about reptiles for I couldn’t get none when I was younger and know that I’m adult with my own I get to learn everything about the reptile i love from them. They give me the best advice to take care and how to handle the ones I want. I truly recommend comeing here and bringing your family. I have two kids and they love coming here every time I go they have to come with me so they can see Mr.bird and what next reptile daddy will buy. I truly appreciate it I can’t say it enough but the best experience and customer service for a pet shop I ever got thank you

This place is absolutely fantastic...im super pleased with their knowledge and care they have for animals!!The support and kindness also honesty and advice I received from them was amazing. They also had everything I needed in store as well ( which made it easy for me instead making multiple stops) definitely will come back to this wonderful pet store and support their business. I visited this pet shop for the first time last week after finding it online. I agree with the other review, it's a little stinky, but probably because there are so many animals in there in a small space. It feels so cramped in there. I spent probably 15 minutes browsing and there were probably 3 employees there it seemed. One cleaning up, one at the entrance at the register, another talking to maybe a regular customer. I was not offered any assistance. It definitely seems like their specialty is reptiles. They looked in decent shape with some very nice specimens there. The fish looked poor quality. I suppose if you're looking to buy reptiles and supplies it's fine, but I also appreciate a friendly atmosphere and a clean and maintained appearance. This shop needs a little work.

Prices were high on the lizards they have awesome looking monitors and skinks. But the one baby iguana they had they got free was emaciated. Place was dirty and felt like I walked into a hoarders shed, not very inviting or organized. People were really nice though. Price on the feeders for the lizards were typical pricing but the accessories were priced to the max.

Mr. Ron and his associates are very helpful!! I had been asking for flying geckos for a few weeks and eventually he went and picked out the best of the best for me which meant a lot to me. Unfortunately one of those lizards died for unknown reasons, I informed Mr. Ron immediately and was he more than happy to give me a brand new one. That is true customer service at its finest folks, I think this is the greatest pet shot we have in Lancaster by far. Thanks for everything Mr. Ron keep doing great things!

Great friendly shop. They have a large selection of lizards and reptiles and great pricing on Meal worms, Super worms, and other food your pets might need. They're very helpful and knowledgeable if you have any questions about your current lizard. They're always helpful when we ask about tips for our bearded dragon.

I’ve been a customer here for almost 5 years. I’ve watched this store turn around through innovative transformations and changing with the times especially post pandemic to meet customer needs and ensuring public safety. I haven’t met anyone as knowledgeable about reptile, fish, birds, and animal care in general then the Stores owner Ron. Animals are taken care of daily, customers are put first with great deals on products that meet specific needs for easy to advanced care animals. Tails2scales has just about everything you need to take care of almost any pet you could own. I buy my cat food, feeder insects in many varieties, live feeders like mice and rats to feed my snakes, calcium and vitamin supplements for my reptiles, heat and lighting, caging, and of coarse some amazing exotic animals. I literally won’t shop anywhere else unless I have to. I love supporting local businesses, and this is one that you could support! Ask about helping out!

I get my bugs here for my lizard and they are amazing they have great quality.. I was spending too much at petsmart for less amount of worms and crickets and here they give u a great amount for a great price. Owner and staff are great as well

I bought my first ever ball python here and let me just say he was well taken care of with beautiful colors and the owner worked with me and helped me understand all that I need to know about my ball python. The animals they're taking care of in their own cages and he paid attention to each one of them showing me around and letting me know which ones were for sale and helping me pick out the right snake for me! He was very kind and helped me with everything I needed to know. Yes there is a small odor but if you had to take care of a whole pet store by yourself you would have a small odor too. I really recommend this place! My ball python was the best decision I've ever made!!! He is so sweet and I owe it all to the store and owner!!!

Been coming to this place for the better part of ten years. Back when he was at his old location on avenue I. He’s always had the supplies I’ve needed. Specifically rats for my snake. He always has knowledge to help with any health issues I have questions for about my snake. His staff has always been friendly and helpful.
