Loved the experience. Lake Shasta is amazing. HouseBoats are good. This was our second time and we rented two Houseboats this time.The checkin process can be improved. It felt that it took forever. Checkout was easier.

Everything was great with Holiday Harbor. The ladies when making the reservation were always very nice to talk when calling. The guys down at the dock when you check in and get orientation were great too. Rusty did a great job explaining the operation and functions of the houseboat. Randy helped us back out of the spot where we loaded the boat with our supplies and took us down to the gas dock to leave from there where there was more room to maneuver. The houseboat ran very well and everything worked without any issues. We explored a good part of the lake and came back to get gas and were surprised we had only used half a tank so far.

From the first phone call to the front desk to learn about house boats to the final check-out process, we had an incredible experience with Holiday Harbor. As a first time houseboat renter (with some experience with power + sailboats), I was nervous about the experience but the ladies at the front desk (Cheryl, Karen (spelling?)) was so friendly and helpful and took the time to answer my many questions. They assured me that I would have no problem managing the boat as long as I paid attention during the orientation. They were right! Randy, the orientation leader, was very helpful and gave great advice. I rented the Ambassador (sleeps 8) with 6 people total, and it was a perfect fit. Very clean and exactly as advertised on the website. Lake Shasta is beautiful with warm water, and the weather was perfect. As SF residents, we felt that most folks tend to flock towards the crowded Lake Tahoe, when Lake Shasta feels like this hidden gem - beautiful scenery, no traffic (3.5 hrs from SF), and untouched nature. My girlfriends and our partners can't wait to come back and make this an annual tradition. Couldn't recommend Holiday Harbor more. Thank you all for making our big adventure so memorable!

I stayed with a group we rented 4 house boats 24 adults the staff was great boats were clean only one complaint each day we played tow truck to get one or the other house fixed out of the four day trip we spent 2 days fishing are mechanics was 5 star

The campgrounds are in a perfect location in relationship to the water when the water level is high. Having your boat less than 5 min away from the camp site is awesome!Nearby activities: Lake Shasta!!

Shasta was extraordinary this year 2023. Full, green and not too crowded. We loved the spaciousness of this boat for 13 adults. Problem was they did not service the boat prior to take off. The septic had not been dumped and fresh water tank was nearly empty. Boat wasn’t very clean. Fortunately I caught the septic before we left (hard to miss PU). They had to bring us fresh water and toilet paper (not stocked) out in the lake the next day. Those people were fantastic. They will not help you when parking the boat though. They stood and watched as we struggled to maneuver into an open space and tie off. The store staff are very friendly but it doesn’t translate to the people on the dock.

This was our fist time renting a houseboat so I dont really have anything to compare it to. The houseboat was old but everything worked. The ski boat throttle was horrible but that is about the only complaint we had. We rented the Empress with 2 other families, 12 people total and had an amazing week at the lake. Can't wait to come back. All of the staff at Holiday Harbor were super friendly and helpful!

It’s been many years since our last houseboat trip and expectations were high. We found the staff here extremely accommodating and helpful. We had a couple of issues with the boat that were quickly taken care of in the field by their repair people. Sammy in the parking and shuttle service was a great source of info, Rusty on the dock gave great fishing recommendations and Carolyn at check in was a gem. Thanks again the next years planning is in the works!!

We had rented Houseboats from Bridge Bay for years. However, our last visit to Bridge Bay was terrible. The boat was dirty, they over-flowed our Blackwater tank into the boat and then failed to clean it up. We ended up having to clean up their mess.This year, we chose Holiday Harbor. What a very pleased surprise to say the least! It started with the reservation process. The woman I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful.When we arrived at the marina, they had people directing traffic to keep things flowing. Sammy was the best! He kept on top of things and made sure it worked like a well oiled clock.Randy walked us through our boat. He was very professional and friendly.The ladies at the front counter were exceptional as well.While the boats are older, they are well cared for and very clean (Bridge Bay Management should come over and see what boats should look like)Overall, a very positive experience. We are already planning next years trip.

From the moment we arrived we encountered boat problems on our personal boat, then car trouble at the same time. The team here at Holiday Harbor went above and beyond to repair our boat within a an hour, plus helped take care of fixing the car issues as well.I love the people at that place and would highly recommend renting from here in the future.

14th time w Holiday Harbor over last 20 years. We are a creature of habit and Holiday Harbor use to reward for repeat business… no more. Boats are old and problems always arise (this trip no hot water for four of the seven days). Good value still in comparison to other houseboat companies.Noteworthy details: Loading and unloading is always difficult but worth it if you want everything at hand for a good Vaca! The lake is the best. 100’s of miles of coastline to choose ‘your spot’.

We love houseboating on Lake Shasta and have been loyal customers of Holiday Harbor for literally decades. The reservation and office staff are lovely. We were a bit disappointed with the condition of the boat (they are very old at this point) and we had a couple of minor mechanical problems that, while easily resolved, made for a less than perfect experience. Our primary complaint in this regard was the lack of clear communication from the maintenance staff. As it happens, we eventually learned that we had the ability to resolve the problem (a generator issue) on our own, but weren't told this when the problem first surfaced. The lack of good information became a real concern when the generator problem recurred after hours and in a place where we had no cell service. So, we spent a night worrying unnecessarily about our battery. All's well that ends well, though. And we ultimately enjoyed ourselves, as we always do at the lake.

We had a terrific 4 day, 3 night getaway with 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 11-15) this past weekend. The experience with all the staff at Holiday Harbor was phenomenal. They are helpful and thorough in their explanation of how to operate the boat, what to and not to do, nice places to dock, amount of ice we would need, where to park, all the details. We rented the Empress and it was more than adequate for our crew and has very nice shaded outdoor space. I would recommend, if you are able, to try for an earlier in the day pickup and return time. When we arrived at the dock to offload on Sunday at 2pm(for a 3pm return), it was SO BUSY!! There is a small area for parking to load and unload and that area was jammed up with cars for at least an hour. Patience is a virtue my friends!! We had a bit of a unique situation because our friends had a bass boat we also needed to load and the water access was clogged with cars trying to load all their houseboat stuff. So, is you're going for the 3pm time, just be prepared, it's a madhouse, but knowing is half the battle! :-) The lake, even in late August was gorgeous, plenty of coves to find a little space of your own. The water is a balmy 84 degrees, but feels so nice with the hot outdoor temps. We swam several days well after the sun was down and the stars appeared. Fantastic way to send out Summer!! Thank you Holiday Harbor!!

We rented the Ambassador for 6 nights and loved every day. The water was low (-127) but we found a perfect spot to tie up. The houseboat was perfect for our group of 5 and all appliances worked perfectly, the space was just what we needed and the slide off the back kept all of us enjoying the water (when we weren't out tubing with the kids). We have been renting houseboats from Holiday Harbor for a few decades and will always come back. We've tried other vendors but the staff and the boats keep us coming back. They are accommodating, absolutely helpful in meeting our needs (including helping launch our ski boat when the water was too low to do so safely on their site), the entire staff is friendly and welcoming. If there has ever been a problem they are right there to help! Holiday Harbor is the only place we will ever rent a houseboat on Lake Shasta!

We thank Lisa, the Customer Service Manager, for helping us reserve the absolute best spot for our RV. Once we arrived, we found the campground clean and tidy with large sites, updated hookups, and plenty of shade trees. We also appreciated the spacious laundry facilities, which were clean and in excellent working order. We were shocked that it was only a $1.00 to wash and 75 cents to dry. Many of the campers we spoke with were regulars and mentioned that they camp at Holiday Harbor on a regular basis due to the location, amenities and staff members like Lisa who go above and beyond for their happy campers. Most assuredly, we will be back!

We usually use Jones Valley or Silverthorne for our summer patio boat outing, but over the years both have repeatedly disappointed us. This year we chose Holiday Harbor and it was FAR a SUPERIOR experience! On-line booking was a quick and painless, their location was easy to find, parking was no issue, check in was a breeze, shuttle to\from the patio boat was efficient and pleasant, and the boat itself was squeaky clean (unlike our previous years' experience with other marinas... which was usually quite dismal). I estimate that from the time we parked the car to pulling away from the dock was only 20 to 25 minutes (inclusive of the thorough boat briefing). All the staff were very polite, pleasant and super efficient. The shop was modern, clean and well stocked with food, etc. as well as cute souvenirs, clothes, etc. We had a wonderfully pleasant ride down to the boat dock with a very kind and knowledgeable gentleman.The boat dock itself was tidy and everyone was super helpful and accommodating, and the boat was very clean and tidy. The only problem we had was an issue with the starter on the boat. We had to call into the marina to have someone come fix it. It took them no more than 30 minutes to find us on the lake and repair the problem. We will indeed use HH for our future boat rentals. We'll certainly be back... maybe again this year, but DEFINITELY next year!! Great Job Holiday Harbor... keep up the good work!!

We had so much fun camping here. The dogs got into some pokeys and there's no wifi, but I had T-Mobile service so I shared my hotspot. We stayed in site 17 which had a view of the lake behind us. We already made reservations for next year!

Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Shuttle service between RV park and Shasta Caverns was quick, clean and courteous. Bathrooms/showers were VERY clean. They had free loaner books and movies. Only downside is narrow winding road to get into camp park. With the current drought the lake is super low so no water access from the RV park or fishing at this time. But it was quiet, clean, well taken care of. Would go again for a quiet relaxing quick trip.
