Everything is extremely overpriced it’s ridiculous, not even that much further from civilization and the “mountain tax” is off the charts. Not sure if there is one item here worth buying for convenience sake. I’ve found in a few short visits it’s almost worth an hour drive to Home Depot every time. Both hardware stores up here gouge tremendously. Id recommend a trip outta town if you need more than one small item

Change my Star level and gave my three, and that's because I went there today to get a pick handle. Now I realize that this is supposed to be something commonly sold in "hardware" stores right! But of course not only did they not sell handles they didn't sell pics. And recently I had to purchase something for my swamp cooler. So the shelf says $42 for this special pump that I need get it up there and she says that'll be $65 please I went I know we have to charge tax but how did it go from 42 to 65. And she says well the it cost $65 after tax and I said but on the shelf it says 42 would you please go back and look. She goes back and she comes back up and keep in mind this is the only stickers on the shelf $42 for an 11, 000 for &$49 for 15,000 PSI pumps. And again she comes up and when she does she's holding the sticker in her hand and she says well yes it does say $42 but if you look way down here at this little bitty code which for the record isn't even a quarter inch high she says that doesn't match this I said but you have three of them on the shelf underneath with a $42 sticker underneath it she said well I'm sorry that's not the right code and charged me $65. I go to the other hardware store Long behold they have exactly the same one for $40 $2 less and obviously returned that $65 pump. I'm going to start shopping in Bakersfield.

Wonderful staff!! I was listening Hank jr on my ear bud but kept one ear available, the staff was very helpful, they have a great lot of items. Nice lumber yard and the dog will help you find what you need. When Waylon came on next on my playlist I felt being in that store was a perfect mix. I enjoyed the female staff that was ringing me up, charming women. Next time I’ll go to Arlie’s for a root beer then take advantage of scenery

Being a new homeowner, I came woefully unprepared with what I needed. But I was able to give them my problems and they turn them into solutions by way of helpful suggestions and actual help cutting up a stick even though I didn't have measurements. They were just really great.

They always r pleasant and ready to assist me in any way necessary. And the employees always greet you with a smile and a friendly hello. That seems to be a lost art these days with most places. Nice.

Store has a variety of items. Many of which I wouldn't have expected this type of store to carry such as pots and pans, dog toys and accessories etc. The couple times I went the store was quiet. If you are in a rush I suggest waiting to go at a time your not because both times I headed to the register it seemed the employee there was new and needed some assistance in the customers sales. I have no complaints, as I too have been the new employee, but someone in a rush might not take it so well. Over all experience was fine.

As a woman, I appreciate walking into a male dominant place and not treated as someone whos out of my element. I go in and get what I need and if I have any questions they provide unjudgmental help and answer my questions. I just being treated like a helpless woman who dont know a pipe wrench from pilers.

Being a lumber store up ona mountain that have great prices I found cheaper then home Depot , it's nice to have them up here in lake isabella so we locals don't have to drive to Bakersfield .. friendly guys in the yard got to go get them to help load stuff high then reach .. but helpful thanks guys ...

Staff is incredible, prices are to be expected given the drive up the canyon. Lumber quality leaves something to be desired you have to pick through a lot to find quality pieces.

This place has everything you need for your home and garden projects. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of pet products and supplies, including dog food. They even have a decent selection of gifts and items for holidays.

Super helpful employees! We decided to borrow kayaks from a friend and needed life jackets. I called to find out if they had any. The lady on the phone was in the office and not sure, but was happy to go find out. Finding out they do indeed have life jackets we drove over. The life jackets were a good price. The entire store was clean and well laid out. We had no problem finding what we were looking for. The individual at the register was polite and efficient without being too friendly. Next time we're in the area and need something, I'll try L & M Lumber first. They have a wide range of items for sale.

Went in asked what isle for light bulbs they were quick to answer. Then asked "hose nozzle"! while in bulb isle the guy at register yelled isle... they didn't guess he was quick to answer. My husband sent me to pick up few things I don't like hardware stores but I'll go here again they weren't annoyed with me. It was painless.😜

When you live in a small town you really don't have much choice when it comes to anything retail. With that aside, I have to admit this Ace does a pretty good job at having exactly what I need. The staff has ALWAYS been knowledgeable and so genuinely kind!

A bit pricey compared to hardware outlets in the big city, but for a small town shop, they have almost everything you need, and still very reasonable. The staff, however, are much more helpful and accomodating than you could ever hope for at a Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

Prices on somethings fair, all new people working in there.since I worked there from 2000 -2010 in all areas I got to know the store,also I would like to point out that the owner does the young working age kids to give them a place to start their job experiences and I believe that is one of the eays he gives back to community

Pretty well stocked hardware/lumber store. The staff are mostly helpful and friendly, I have run across one that really didn't want to be bothered with questions. The store was clean and the best part you can usually get in and out pretty quickly!!

happened to be there during the first 6.4 earthquake and you could hear everything rattling off the shelves. Everybody kept their cool a great place to buy anything and meet your neighbors while you're buying things for fixing up your places
