Mellisa is a awesome groomer! She does a consistently amazing job every time I bring my dogs into her. If your new to the area or just want to try someone new give her shot you won’t regret it.

Should have read the other one-stars before I came here. The owner was visibly angry at me when I first walked in the door for not reading some policy terms on her website. It was a 4:00pm appointment and she was clearly behind. This was my first time using her services as my dog’s regular groomer and had to cancel our scheduled appointment due to an illness. She told me not to ask when my dog would be ready but later in the unpleasant convo offered up that it would be a couple hours. So I came back in 1 hour 50 minutes (just before 6pm) to check in and she started yelling at me for coming back early.I stood there and said nothing. She told me that I didn’t deserve my dog and I wasn’t a good dog owner. My only advice to others is to read the google reviews (in addition to the terms on her website) before taking your dog to Pawsitively Primped.

Owner was very friendly and attentive on arrival asking very thoughtful and considerate questions all in effort to increase the quality and comfort of your pet while receiving care. It's Really good to see a pet groomer that is so passionate about their profession, genuinely wanting to get to know ur pet on a more personal level even if it's just to provide a little extra emotional support thru their bath lol. Also don't forget to say hello to mushi the support cat I promise you will adore him and your pets will too.

Melissa is great says my dog and I think so, too. In fact, if everyone had a parent like Melissa - firm, smart, and loving - we’d all be better off!

I have never done a negative review.Upfront, this review is not about Pawsitively Primped's grooming services, it's about my horrific interaction today with Pawsitively Primped owner, Melissa Wright. Also upfront, I am a first-timer/last-timer who made a mistake of not reading Melissa Wright's "Rules & Policies" when booking the grooming with her. These policies apparently outline how and when to interact with her while dropping off and picking up my two pups today. I had offered to get my parents' dogs groomed, and told to take the dogs to her by my father who lives locally. I - again, my bad - did not read the rules and policies because these were my parents' dogs and my parents had used her before.I showed up at 430 pm having been told by my sister who did the drop-off for me, that Melissa said she would be leaving at 430 pm. Some background, my mother unexpectedly passed away last week and our lives have been a little crazy. My sis, who lives in Seattle, did me a solid and did the drop off for me so I could help my father with estate stuff because he's 92 years old and, silly us, we thought it'd be nice to have their dogs cleaned and groomed.I got a text from Melissa Wright which said the dogs had fleas (I could swear my parents have them on FrontLine, but I wasn't gonna fight it), and that she'd text me 15 minutes before 430 pm to let me know if they are ready - she said they might not be ready. I still showed up at 430 pm thinking it wouldn't hurt to be early and I could just hang around and be available for the handoff so that she can get out of there as early as possible.I couldn't even get a word in edgewise to make that offer.Melissa Wright laid into me with a verbal assault for just showing up at the storefront. Had I not read her rules and policies? Why would I just show up when she had texted me that she'd text me 15 minutes before pickup (her text had not been explicit). And she went on and on about how appalled she was that I did not tell her the dogs had fleas and why I hadn't read her rules and policies? My dogs weren't ready because of the fleas and they were matted. I didn't have an issue with waiting but she didn't even give me a chance to say this. Her berating went on for fifteen minutes while I increasingly just wanted her to tell me how much I owed her so I could just leave with our dogs - this was going nowhere and I wasn't going to let her cut our dogs. She proceeded to call me stupid because I obviously "could not read".She told me in response to my saying about how I'd never experienced this kind of treatment by any service professional and musing why she treats her customers this way, so she said I'm not a customer she wants because her customers know how to read. She only wants customers who read her rules and policies. I'd had enough. I told her I wanted out. I'd pay her for the nightmare, and just wanted the dogs and to go because I felt like throwing up by then.$200 later, I left with two uncut Shihtzus and I'm still trying to rid myself of all of the vitriol and hostility that she spewed at me just for showing up early.Melissa Wright of Pawsitively Primped has no business running a service business. Everyone has a bad day, but this woman is an absolute troll of a person with zero coping skills and a trigger temper looking for a reason to lash out. I would caution you, dear fur parent, from giving your loved one to her.Keep your $200 and spend it at Petco. Needing to get her last word in to me as I left with our dogs, Melissa Wright's parting remark: "you should go to Petco." Wow, what a privileged snob of a person. I've met wage workers at Petco who have more service and professionalism in their pinkies than Melissa Wright of Pawsitively Primped exhibited today. If this is the type of person you want to reward with business, you've found her. You've been warned,V. Tsai

Melissa is great. She used to be a veterinary technician and she one time found an issue inside the mouth of our dog. I don’t think most groomers are doing oral exams so my compliments to Melissa for going above and beyond to look out for the overall welfare of the dogs in her care.

If you value your dogs ability to walk and live a long and healthy life do not bring your dog here. We had a 9 year old shitzu that well extremely well behaved. After her last groom at this facility she was partially paralyzed. During her appointment the groomer called us and asked if there was something wrong with our dog because she was unable to stand. Unfortunately, at this point it was too late. I explained that she was fine when we dropped her off about 2 hours ago and had no previous issues with her health or ability to stand. After we brought her home she was unable to walk and was put on steroids to try and bring back function of her hind legs. She did develop some mobility, but the vet explained she had 2 compressed vertebrae impinging her nerves causing the partial paralyzation. Unfortunately, our dog passed less than a year after this experience. She had no previous health issues and should have been with us for many more years. We lost a part of our family due to the incident at this grooming facility. Be careful who you trust your dogs life with. 💔

We've been going to this location for over 6 years. It's the best groomers in town. My dog Honey absolutely loves it. They are kind, caring and great at their trade. Melissa always does an amazing job. Sometimes Honey even gets special attention and gets cuddle time with her son. I know when I drop my dog off she's in the best of hands.

For the safety of your pets I'd literally go anywhere else, Petco would be a safer option. Matter of fact your 5 year old child would be a better choice. We just moved to Lafayette from Brentwood and used an AWESOME groomers out there who from the start treated all their animals/clients with such great care and respect. But because they were so far booked we thought we'd 1. Support local 2. Try someone closer to home.As we reopen and businesses are becoming increasingly overwhelmed with demand, and as a consumer we try to be as gentle and understanding with business owners (especially small business owners). What I don't have the patience for is rude or curt behavior especially if it involves the safety of my animal. From the jump the owner of Pawsitively Primped was anything but positive. I had called twice before booking online and when I booked I never heard back from anyone except for email reminders. When I arrived with my already nervous pup, the owner was confused as to why I was there. She seemed annoyed that I booked online and "agreed" (how gracious of her) to groom my dog. She was aggressive in how she talked to me and aggressive how she handled my dog when giving her over. It just didn't feel like a safe place to leave him.I told her he was a little matted (due to not being able to get him in anywhere, on his hind legs) she told me she doesn't do matted and that however short she cuts him is what it is. Uhhh, rude but okay.My dog is older (doesn't have teeth) and very nervous when it comes to his feet so I told her if she muzzled and if so she probably should. She told me that if my dog nips her she's sending him home as is. Because all dogs that come to her need to be well behaved and she doesn't tolerate nippy dogs. (If you have THAT much experience as she claims with animals, you'd think you'd know how to work with all different kinds of personalities and breeds). To the owner who dropped their cute white dog off on 6/22 you should probably get your dog a therapist because that lady is a TERROR. Honestly, if she didn't have my dog behind that gate I wouldn't have been as nice. At that point I felt like she wasn't going to be catering and nurturing to my boy at all. I had a gut feeling that said, "Take him NOW." So I told her I wanted my dog back, she had an attitude but grabbed him and handed him over. I felt like there were several different opportunities that she could have changed the outcome of this situation. I don't believe in writing reviews but for the safety and well being of these animals GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Frightening, awful people... no idea how they groom, just how they treat people. Melissa and her coworker were rude, threatening and I'm lucky we got out of there without any further damage to my dog or myself. She is clearly disgruntled and has no issue taking it out on customers. Read the Yelp reviews to learn this is not unique to my experience. She threatened me, said "people like me disgust her", and much worse. I'm glad I trusted my gut and left after being mistreated beyond measure.

I love Pawsitively Primped! My cat is such a prissy lady and will fight you every step of the way to her nails trimmed and her coat washed. But the owner of this shop has such a way with animals my cat sat quietly and happily let herself be groomed. Definitely the only place I'm taking her from now on. Also it is really fairly priced.

Melissa is wonderful, quick, easy, friendly, very inexpensive. She came out to my car, no appointment. Took my Rufus and quickly clipped his nails, which had been causing pain just to walk. In and out. All are happy 😊

Melissa was super patient with my nervous dog after he had a traumatic experience recently with his last groomer. He was wagging his tail happily when I came to pick him up, which never happens!

My dog has the best coat and smell after he's done here. He's always got the biggest smile when he comes in. My Dogg also loves the staff very much. Almost as much as he loves me.

My old dog went for for grooming. She's difficult, other groomers gave her terrible nicks and burns. Positively the best groomer we've had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

No answer or return call after I left a message. I don't mind if they are too full and can't accept new clients but a return call to let me know that would have been appreciated.
