This rating is mostly for the sandwich we had at the deli counter but also for the lack of a bathroom. We ordered the porker sandwich from the deli which was overall a good sandwich, but it really didn't live up to the name and the description. We were expecting freshly "fire roasted pork" per the description, but the meat was just basically regular deli ham. Don't get me wrong ingredients were good, well-prepared by the friendly staff but it wasn't a unique sandwich by any means. It really could have just been called a "ham and cheese sandwich with avocado." The potato salad was good. We appreciated that they have so many staff on hand and the market as a whole has very nice selections. But again they need a bathroom for customers.

Staying at an airbnb down the road. Vacation food shopping always sucks because you can't ever use it all before you go....unless you boutique shop and this place was perfect for that! Did I spend $12.99 on Butter...yeah I sure did and it's the best thirteen dollars I've ever spent!!! So many treats I will probably bag up and take home in my suitcase! We bought 1/2 lb of ocean farmed Salmon... reddest radishes, tasty dolmas and so much more! Everything was fresh, organic, and the staff were ridiculously ready to help.

I first began shopping here when I was in elementary school and I would beg my mother or my grandmother to take me. There is a reason I continue to shop here today for my groceries. Diablo Oriental Foods has been an essential way station for Japanese-American families in Contra Costa for many years, providing specialty Japanese and Asian ingredients you can't find at many larger chains.

I love this place, from the deli/meats, hot foods, fruits & vegetables, and all other grocery options of unique and common items. I love walking through the store, a smaller store, but it feels great walking the aisles and window shopping. Cashiers are always friendly, and usually pleasant to converse with.The only issue for me is sometimes the price of common items may be more than a chain market, but I select smartly.

I go there for their butcher. Excellent meat.You can also order veal bones for Demi Glace. They also dry age beef themselves. The short ribs are amazing.

This is my drive by walk in after therapy every week. It's also my post therapy therapy. This store is so clean; the team here is so friendly; it don't feel like you're in Lafayette. It feels more like Berkshires back home. This is the only place I buy tuna salad and chicken salad from and make sure to get a whole knife fork and spoon for my drive back across the bridge. Wine options are unlimited; good stuff. See y'all next week.

Diablo Foods is my first choice for properly prepared meats. My rib eye shows their quality. It is heavy and has very little "juice" which tells me that it was dry-aged before it was cut.* This is the best way to offer beef in the butcher shop and also the most expensive for the butcher. I will leave it out all day to rest from the fridge. Salt, pepper. Super hot grill. Three minutes a side.* "Juicy" beef that you find in the supermarket is not desirable and "wet aging" is just a fancy term for letting it rot in the bag while retaining the water weight for profit and then charging more for the process.

I dont give five stars often. Only when well deserved.A local store full of high quality foods. A great sandwhich bar and excellent prepared food. Impressive meat display. Very nice produce section. I make an effort to stop there everytime I'm in the area. They are a couple of minutes off the Hwy 24 exit for Lafyette. Parking is easy and service is excellent. A real local Gem. You might want to consider stopping there if you travel past Lafayette for work or pleasure... a less hectic shady grocery shopping experience. There a number of other businesses in the same complex. Including a CVS drug store and a Trader Joe's. I wish I lived closer I'd do most of my grocery shopping here. Perhaps I will edit and include pictures at a later date. Trust me. A very pleasant shopping experience 3 minutes off Hwy 24 in Lafyette.

I wish that my “home” store was as good as Diablo Foods! Everything they have is off the highest quality, but where they truly excel is their customer service. Whether you’re at the meat counter, deli, produce or calling in with a question, they go above and beyond to help. Worth the drive from Alamo. Our Lunardi’s market in Danville could learn a lot from them!

This is hands down the best grocery store. They have a parking attendant to keep the parking lot moving, they have staff on hand to help you find what you're looking for. And they even insisted on helping me out with my groceries...well mostly wine and salad dressing.

Love this privately owned, incredibly well-stocked grocery. Extensive butcher's department, lovely flowers, fantastic variety of baked goods, fresh sushi, excellent cheeses...it can be a little pricey for pantry staples, but having all of your needs under one, locally owned roof makes it worthwhile!

This review is for the Sushi. I first discovered the Sushi at Diablo Foods a few years ago. It’s freshly made daily by the Canaan Company. They also have fresh wasabi. I highly recommend the Sushi from Diablo Foods.

Best produce in Lafayette. They also have a deli that is INCREDIBLY good. Great store that holds it's own no problem even though it's wedged between Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. It's truly better then both for quality and fine options. High prices but you get what you pay for here, high quality.

The nicest people...always so helpful. The produce is always fresh and the meat/poultry dept is top notch. Highly recommend Diabo Foods. The parking can be tight, but be patient. You'll get a spot.

I’ve been buying their artichoke deep for years and it was so delicious, now I’m not sure if they changed their providers but is so disgusting. Lots of olive oil sometimes other times to dry and the quality of cheese their using is terrible. I’m so disappointed at Diablo’s food since I really like their products but this product in particular needs attention.Thank you

Simply the best groceries in the East Bay. The experience is always top notch. The meat and Deli is where this place shines. Best cuts and filets, delicious salads and spreads and sandos. It's not cheap but nothing good ever is.

Hands down the best grocery store I've ever been to. My husband had worked in the area previously and raved about the deli sandwiches so on our way out of town we stopped for lunch. He was right, AMAZING sandwiches. The grocery store itself is full of yummy goodness. A lot of what looked like locally and homemade fresh foods. Even the mass produced foods all looked amazing and fresh. I wish I lived near by, I would never shop any where else. I know anytime we may pass by, I will make a point to stop and shop. Did I mention the staff was super nice too? Love love love Diablo Foods!

Good stuff here, plenty of nice items to choose from. Got to pick my own flowers for a really pretty arrangement, which is why I went. But saw unique brands for self/skin care that I would go back to examine closer some day. Took off a star for price and crowd - but hey, it's Lafayette, so expected.
