I AM SO SORRY FOR HAVING TO WRITE SUCH A HORRIBLE REVIEW.I have in the past always held Katie's Pet Depot veterinary services in the highest regard and recommended their services to all of my friends who happened to be looking for a good place to take their pet for check ups, shots or in an emergency. Recently, Shadow, our five year old husky, was in distress with occasional yelping, whining, panting, and shaking. It was obvious she was in pain. So we called Katie's like we usually do when we need her to be seen by the vet and were informed that their appointment schedule was full for the day but we could pay an emergency visit charge of $89 instead of their usual $59 fee and they would fit us in as they could. Of course, we jumped on it and had her there within an hour. My husband took her in while I stayed at home. He didn't have to wait too long before they were shown into an examination room and asked a bunch of questions. He had me on speakerphone at the time. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NO TRIAGE ON HER! NO VITALS AT ALL! DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH HER! Then said hold on, we'll figure out how much it will cost! Came back with an astronomical figure pushing $2000 for an IV, to hold her for observation for a FEW hours, x-rays, and various other costs! All without even looking at her! We live on social security, we're retired and have nowhere near that kind of money. So they recalculated what it would cost us without a few of the items and got it under $1000. We still didn't have that much. So we paid almost $100 for them to NOT EVEN LOOK AT OUR DOG! I was then and am still appalled! Granted, I know things are expensive, but it's just the point of them not even taking her temp or listening to her heart or her breathing, or even looking into her eyes. Like I said, I had always thought very highly of Katie's Pet Depot, but now I will NEVER trust them with my girl's health again.She was fine a few days later, by the way. Back to her normal bouncy self.I can't find it in me to give them any higher than a one star rating. Previously I would have given all five!

In order to get on here I had to give 1 star not worth it. This place is a joke, recommended by a neighbor, after searching and looking I went. I asked not to have my dog cut so short now looks like. A skinny rat, was very winner not normal for him. I noticed too late the damage they did. He was cut TOO close to the skin was red , under his arm was cut bleeding red and raw his chest area was red and we have not slept the last 2 nights with the constant itching and wining by his tail it’s all red and raw. I will NEVER EVER TSKE MY FUR BABY HERE . I don’t mind spending HARD earned money but when they fq up my dog it’s not worth it I will go else where .. I DONOT RECCOMEND THIS HELL HOLE!!

Dr. Clark literally saved my dogs life. She brought him back from a complicated surgery and infection. The amount of care and attention she has given my pet and my family is beyond her pay and over and above any other vet we have ever had. She is a knowledgeable and compassionate physician and our family is so lucky to have her and Katie’s pet depot so close to home. We can’t thank you enough!!!!

Visited the Katie’s Pet Depot vet today.The vet front staff is a really nice group of ladies, pleasant and friendly.The vet, Dr Cho, seemed to know his stuff and was able to answer my concerns about Cookie, our Chihuahua /Jack Russell mix. Eye treatment, ear treatment and nail trim completed in a reasonable time. Prices may be a little high, but the location and good service are worth it.

I would like to thank Dr. Clark and all of the staff at the Pet Hospital for helping me care for my sweet girl Ava over the years and helping me to with the hardest decision I could possibly make. Absolutely love this place! This shop has everything my doggo needs, so no more going to different shops!This location has the friendliest staff always. The shop is always clean, organized, and well stoked.Ive only shopped here for dog supplies, and my experience is always 5 Star. The brands they carry are great. Toys and snacks are great too.I always have a good time shopping here.

This vet used to be excellent when Dr. Ransom was here, but it seems that it went downhill right after he left. We made the mistake of giving Katie's Pet Depot a chance again and paid for it. My wife was running late for an 11am appointment, and she called at 10:55am to let the vet know she would be about 10 minutes late. An employee at the vet told my wife that it was ok, and told her that they give customers a 15 minute grace period for appointments and as long as she got there by 11:15am she would be good. Well my wife arrived at 11:08am and they turned her away and said that the vet was "already prepping for surgery." They offered my wife another appointment at 5pm that same day instead of taking my dog's appointment. The same employee actually apologized for not calling my wife back to tell her that the doctor was going to prep for surgery. So you're going to tell me that if the appointment started right at 11am the doctor was going to see my dog for 8 minutes then go into prep for surgery? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Darlene, the "manager," was extremely rude to my wife when she spoke with her, and told her that she could "go ahead and leave a bad review on Yelp" if she wanted to instead of providing actual customer service. As a care provider and owner of a practice myself, I suggest that Darlene drops the attitude when speaking with a dissatisfied customer. Maybe if Darlene put the same effort into getting her team she "manages" on the same page as she does being rude and having an attitude with customers, the front office wouldn't be such a circus. I suggest you take your pets to Dr. Ransom at Alona Animal Hospital in Santa Ana if you want an experience with a caring, well run, efficient front office and vet rather than the clown show operation that Katie's Pet Depot has turned into over the last 3-4 years.

ONLY getting 1-Star because you can’t give ZERO STARS. First I will say this, I have been shopping Katie’s since they opened and always felt confident and recommended then to the community. Now to the news about the REAL KATIE’S and how they operate. My daughter purchased a Guinea pig from Katie’s for my autistic grandson for his birthday. When she purchased the Guinea a week ago she asked all the right questions. Has the vet done a thorough health check? The associate answered. Yes the guinea pig is very healthy and roughly 6 months old, we get them all the time from the breeder and they are healthy. Two days after the guinea pig is home, they are holding it and they feel something strange in the abdomen. She said it felt like something was moving. She called the store and asked it the guinea pig was pregnant because she can feel something moving in the stomach. The associate was no help and said a manager would call her the next day. The manager never called so she called the manager and the manager said to bring the guinea pig in for an ultrasound to determine pregnancy. Come to find out the guinea pig is pregnant with two babies. Furthermore, the manager says completely contrary to what the associate said at the time of purchase. The manager said the guinea pig and all of the animals are just surrenders. They do not come from a breeder. And, my daughter asked what type of health-check was done that you missed the pregnancy yet a lay individual like herself knew it. The manager’s reply was well we just look them over. Not to mention the Guinea Pig has an eye infection for which the store will do nothing about. Katie’s is the worst with ZERO customer service and ZERO knowledge on animal sales. You would be foolish to purchase anything from this store. STAY AWAY. For the manager to say too bad is horrible considering this all happen within a week of purchase not to mention the customer being lied to about health checks, and Breeders.

This review pertains specifically to the Pet Grooming service. Unfortunately, we cannot provide feedback on the actual bath portion of the service because our puppies were returned to us within 30 minutes of dropping them off due to their perceived loudness. However, upon arriving to retrieve our pets, we found them to be quiet and not making any noise in their crates at the back of the store. Additionally, we felt that the crates were somewhat small, particularly considering that one of our puppies is a 120lb German Shepard, which likely contributed to their anxiety and vocalizations. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience and will not be returning. We believe that there are better options available in the area and feel that our time was wasted.

I was able to find feeding syringes to feed baby puppies. This is the only place I found them at. They pretty much have a variety of things. You'll be surprised. Cashier's are very helpful and friendly.

I truly love my neighborhood Pet Store. At Katie's Pet Depot, the people who work the front, are always so nice and helpful. They always ask if you need any help, and always have treats and goodies up in the front. The vets always take great care of my two cat babies. We love Katie's Pet Depot and would recommend to all my neighbors.

After 1 visit will absolutely not be returning. Joined my best friend in purchasing a Guinea pig for her son. Staff reassured the Guinea pig was of good health & ready for a new home. 2 - 3 days after, it was discovered the Guinea pig was pregnant & suffering with issues of slight discharge from the eyes. When contacted regarding these concerns, it was met with resistance & rudeness from the staff dismissing these circumstances of being their problem. Out of their “courtesy”, they agreed to have their vet team examine the Guinea pig just to confirm pregnancy, but even this had their team uncomfortable since they do not specialize with exotic pets. When asked for any recommendations of care, the response from the veterinarian was, (paraphrasing) “it’s your pet, see your own Vet.” All of these examples have me questioning their practices. How do you have an exotic pet examined & cleared for purchase if your vet is only for dogs & cats? Are they housing male & females together that would cause pregnancy? Staff said all the animals are owner surrendered. So again my question is, if they are surrendered pets, who is ensuring they are in good health? If their goal is to just make a sale without any regard for the welfare of the animal then I can not support that business & will share the experience. The other solution offered by staff was to surrender the Guinea pig back to them without refund. I think what was looked for was the management to admit they unfairly sold a pregnant Guinea pig and offer some suggestions of care especially when told the Guinea pig was ready for purchase.

They caring all brands but what makes this pet store unique is their employees. They're all so friendly and knowledgeable and they absolutely love your pets when you bring them in.. I submitted an adoption application, and I never got a response. I went in person to follow up the guy that helped me was not helpful and very dismissive. It turns out the manager never saw my application. I called to follow up one last time and the sales associate told me she would call me back before the store closed (this was about 4:30 pm), and still no response. I’m disappointed with the lack of customer service and communication.

Some of the things are priced pretty heavy compared to other stores. Nice service and nice selection. They have a vet here so thats cool. I havent went to it yet but we have a vet already thats why. Um they sell the candles that i love so much .they work well and smell great. The smell last long and six burns slow. 20 bucks it last a long time.

This is a GREAT place to take your pet. They took very good care of my two babies (dogs). I have been to other vet clinics and did not get the same great service as i got here. Tica and Tori are WONDERFUL and know what they are doing. They treat your pet like they are very special. The Vet was great too, she took the time to answer all my questions and made sure both my dogs were very happy! I love this place will not take my babies anywhere else. Thanks Pet Depot!!

I have taken my pets in the past for vaccine and grooming. And had wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, for my new pup recently I had a horrible experience with the Vet department. On top of miss communication and scheduling sterilization twice! Because they fail to communicate correctly. I went in 16mins late due to wrong time drop off I had to reschedule surgery. Already upset, I still went through with the sterilization. Now I regret it and feel horrible for sending my pup there. On top of being expensive they botched her suture site! It is super long and bulky. The skin edges doesn’t line up and there was way too much tension when sutured. It’s not nicely done. My other female dog is wayyy better, cheaper and smaller. It was done at inland valley human society. So disappointed 😔 looking for new vet!

They have a lot of really cool and unique pet supplies. The staff is amazing. My dog had an accident and peed on. The floor. I was cleaning it up (i was super embarrassed) and the stAff was so cool about it. They just laughed it off and stopped me from cleaning it then they used a disinfectant spray cleaned the floor and gave our old dog a goody bag full of free treats to take home. Awesome place!

Today I took my 3 yr old terrier to the groomer. He is a rescue dog and only had one other experience with a groomer. I made the first appointmennt of the day thinking less stimulation to perhaps lessen his anticipated anxiety I was told, since he was first in the day, often they are done in an hour to hour and half. The groomers were definitely kind and seemingly knowledgeable. However. three hours later I went in to see how he was doing. There were, that I could see, 7 dogs in progress with 2 groomers. i was told my dog was afraid of the drier so was in a cage drying as he seemed to become aggressive with the noise. This was almost 3 hours after i brought him in.. An updated anticipated finish, due to "a lady bringing her dog in and paying extra to get him done quickly", could not even be projected for greater than 2 additional hours. With the comment about aggressiveness, and that it sounded like he had just been bathed, it seemed best to just take him home. The prepared $60 invoice was reduced $15. without requesting such. While paying, I presented their coupon for 25% off for first time grooming visits. They denied it as I didn't have a whole grooming. I too had received their coupon for $8 off for grooming on a week day. They too denied that. I paid the $45 going back to the grooming area to pick up my dog, I found they had actually started grooming him so he had long hair in places with being shaved in others. Incredible they didn't mention that. Through this I didn't make comments and remained polite. Their conduct is for you to judge and chose to utilize their business.

A bit pricey but they have my dog food and they are local. I loved my vet here but she has since moved on and ever since, there seems to be a frequent turnover of vets.....why? On one of my last visits to the vet I had a problem with some of the meds and they offered to discount the vet but not the meds. This sounded to me like the vet would make less but they wanted full price for the meds. I asked for a prescription so I could send it in to Petmeds only to find out that they will not authorize the order via phone or fax. I took it to a local pharmacy and the prescription was filled for less than half the price that Katies Vet Clinic wanted to charge me. I am all for supporting small business because I own one, but their prices gouging is a bit offensive. I also wonder if this is why they have a hard time keeping vets.

Groomer asked me if it was my first time but didn't offer first time coupon even though they were on the counter. When I asked about it during checkout, they said I couldn't use any coupons since I didn't ask before. Keep in mind this happened before I paid.However, the staff was friendly and my dog seemed happy after. I got the full service and the results were beautiful. They gave me coupon for next time but I don't know if I'll go back since it was expensive.
