I’ve lived in la habra for over 10 plus yrs and I regret not knowing about this fish store! I’ve been going to Patrick’s(owner) fish store for about 2yr. Patrick is really a kind down to earth guy! He has a variety of fresh water fish and specialized in discus and Angel fish, which he breeds himself! If you’re around la habra or live in la habra go visit West Lake Aquarium for all your fish keeping needs.

I like the selection of fish here that you wouldn't typically find at your local petco or petsmart! Bought some chili rasboras here and was tempted to buy even more. I'm sure I'll be back to buy some other types of fish. Very fair prices and again a nice selection. All homegrown and super healthy looking fish. Owner was super nice and gave advice how to take care of my fish :) Thanks again!

Patrick is the old man who owns it. I met him for some discuss at his store they were so healthy and exotic not the average discuss at all! They were so healthy a few month later I came for more. He is a talented fish breeder and breathe some of his fish in the house which is more of a sign of his talents not just a person who purchases fish and sells them like all the big box stores do! This man can help you have a healthy aquarium with healthy fish that breedIf you have the time to learn and have some money to spend this is an awesome place to come

Not a huge selection. Owner was nice and informative. Fish stock is limited, they breed their stock mostly in house. Average pricing on products. Decent pricing on fish. They do have live brine shrimp which was pretty interesting. Overall seems like a liquor store version of a fish store.

Almost alot of fish are born in store alot of his fish.Always has healthy disease free fish. Good selection.Nice man. A old fashioned owner run store. Rather shop here then being Corp. Pet supply places. I live 85 miles away & stop here to buy his fish. Thank youI always stop here to buy my fish when I'm in town.Well worth it.

A small store but if you are looking for healthy Discus Fish at a reasonable cost this is the place to go. I have purchased Discus Fish from West Lake for over 15 years and they have always been the best quality. Ask the owner to see his breeder stock.

Patrick, the owner has been breeding cichlids about 40 years. He ships his special cichlids to individuals & fish stores nationwide. He has some of the most unique, vibrant colored, healthy cichlids in Southern CA. My husband & I really enjoy visiting this store & talking to Patrick. Patrick loves to share his knowledge & experience, so don't hesitate to ask questions. Other larger fish stores claim they could identify which fish was male & which fish was female, but they were always wrong. Patrick is the only one that accurately identified the male & female cichlids. He is also one of the few owners that guarantees his fish!

If you want healthy hardy beautiful cichlids this is the best place around. Pattrick breeds his own fish so when he says he has ten thousand Angels, you can believe it's true. From eggs to fry to breeding pairs. He is very knowledgeable caring and helpful.

Didn't really get to experience what the store hos to offer as it was closed by the time I arrived at 7 o'clock. I should have probably called 1st but I generally trust the stores information as given in Yelp. Hopefully they can correct their hours or it would be helpful if they would even put a note on the door if it was closed early due to an emergency. Well I'm not in crisis thank goodness but I just drove 15 miles to get here. No worries I just hope the information is corrected. I'll try back another time only I'll make it a lil earlier(:

Very nice little place for tropical fishes. Fishes are very healthy. Specialized in discuss and angelfish. He has the best Discus and Angelfishes there. 👍

Guy was short with his answers and kinda rude, not to mention every tank in the shop was filled with alge and a nasty brown or green color. Id suggest the fish shop off imperial and arovista in brea over this place

I love West lake aquarium they have a big selection of angelfish I've purchased quite a number of them and my yoyo loaches there.

Great prices, decent selection of freshwater fish. No saltwater and tanks could be cleaner. Most discus and angelfish there are self bred.

Called for information and guy who picked up was short, and rude. Asked if they had live freshwater plants. Literally said, "No we don't have that" and hung up before I finished my next question.
