Such a blast! Went up for the first time on a Thursday and had the whole place to ourselves. My 8 year old daughter loved it. For only $15 per vehicle a day to be able to romp around the grounds sledding building snowmen ⛄️ etc., great memories made. Surprised to not see anyone else or other families. If you’re not familiar with “outhouse” type restroom facilities then brace yourself! It’s rather a crude aroma to put it lightly. So ya, aside from that, I didn’t see much yellow snow 🤓 so that’s a good thing. What are you doing?!?! Stop reading this review, you’re wasting time! Get up, get out, and get sum! And make sure you Pay-to-Play!

A great snow park to bring kids sledding as well as a fun place to bring your dogs. We love coming here every year, parking wasn’t too terrible to find. Parking permit is required and was $15 online + $1.95 fee.

In California we can drive to the snow. Iron mountain snow park is just one of those places where you don't need to ski to have fun. This park is just past chain control . All-wheel drive is usually enough . Chains if you don't have it. Bring your snow toys saucers gloves. Sleds. Snowball makers. Dress warm . The temperature will be in the 30s likely. It might snow You'll need a day pass to park here. Order a day pass online and print it out or get one down the road at the local store. Pack drinks and snacks and play all day. Bring toilet paper just in case the outhouse runs out. Be cognizant of powered snowmobile like machines around you. Everyone is pretty safe generally.

This park has few inches of nice and smooth snow as of today. Parking lots were plowed. Easy to access few slopes from parking. Permit is required during winter and can be purchased online or bought at store (Amador station) on the way.

Nice big area with flat, slightly sloped, and steeply sloped terrain to play on. Make sure you get the day use permit before coming out because you can't buy one here. You can climb up on a couple of old ski lift machines. They also allow snowmobiles.

Had fun watching the kids build snow men. Quite a few snow mobiles. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the bathrooms were bad, no tp and being disabled, I had a hard time with the ice build up around the door. Almost fell a couple of times..

Great place for sledding with the family. Unfortunately someone didn't understand pack it-pack it out and left several trash bags in the entry to the pit toilet. No toilet paper in bathroom, go prepared. Permit required. $5 on line, link in photos.

I live near Sacramento. Very clean and not too crowded when I was there on Saturday with my family. Highly recommended for a day trip to play on the snow. Plenty of sparking spaces.

Old abandoned ski resort. Torn down and slowly being cleaned up by the owners. Great place to see the mountains and the valleys.

Perfect spot for playing in the snow. There were quite a few people there but it didn't feel crowded and parking was easy. Make sure to buy a parking pass and print it out ahead of time, it was only 5 bucks online.

Grew up in Amador County, coming up here all the time to play in the snow. Parking can be difficult in heavy snow conditions, they only open the road to 2 lanes and there's so many visitors it's more like a 1 lane. Overall, a great sno-park, it's hard NOT to have fun here!

Always a fun visit. Snow was deep this year. A little crowded in Saturday, but all alone overnight. Our new favorite Snow Park.

Had a lot of fun playing in the snow! Plenty of places to ride snowmobiles, so you're not on top of other snowmobiling party's. You can back hill as well as trail ride. The bathrooms were not clean though and were really gross.

It's a fun park for the family to stop and play. We brought our camping chairs, the kid did sledding, we built a snowman with three hearts and a bunny. A good way to enjoy some fun family (down)time after skiing / snowboarding at kirkwood.

Great snow park for sledding and exploring. Do note there are a few holes and unsafe buildings around the property as it's an abandoned ski resort that was left to rot. Keep an eye on your kids. Snowmobiles are around here, but didn't impede our fun.. Snowmobile trails looked pretty great.

1st time to Snopark. We dug in and pitched tent and my son did all the cooking! It was a good time.

There are no amenities so it's not worth paying anything to go there, but the view is great and the slopes are gentle form kids to slide around.

Lots of room to play, ample parking, about 20 vehicles there when we visited, most were snowmobiling. I was nervous about that but all drivers were very cautious of families playing in the snow. One unisex Porto potty stall, lock was broken, ample TP, no handwashing sink. Drive there was very winding, lots of pull off and passing lanes for slow drivers. Need parking permit for the day and can be purchased online ($5+$1.95 fee), just look up sno park, follow instructions to print and place on driver side dashboard, be sure to select the correct date cause only a one time use.

Sledder's review: Go somewhere else. We went up to sled and apparently picked the wrong day. The place was crawling with snowmobiles. Riders were friendly and shared the hill, but some, which included kids under 16, were zipping past too close and too fast -- putting us constantly on alert. That and the sickening smell of exhaust and the loud sound of the machines made for a really unpleasant experience. If you want a somewhat quiet place to get back to nature and sled, this is not the place for you.

Road is plowed to the sno-park and folks were snowmobiling and sledding. Restroom has not been cleaned in months and was so disgusting I could not enter when I opened the door. Permit required to park here in the winter, available on line.

Really kool Snö Park. The abandoned ski runs are still totally useable for backcountry skiing and snowboarding. Wish I had a snowmobile so I could have a buddy take me back up to the top. Stupid that the 2000s era Eldorado National Forest Supervisor denied the Ski Area permit renewal. Would've been much nicer to have just renewed it and kept the place in operation. I feel as though abandoned ski lifts take away from the "natural beauty" more than a well kept ski resort. Although it is a kool and surreal looking place now.

Ok, you're asking why I would give this place any stars since it's been closed forever. So they're nostalgia stars, I did some skiing here in the early 90's with my son and his friends, we had a blast... sad to see it now...

The website didn't show that it was closed and we only knew when we reached there. It did look that it has been left closed most of 2023 due to the snow storms.
