Stayed in the RV park for six days. Great location— convenient to Redwoods and right off the 101. Asphalt pad for the RV was a big plus as it was rainy at first and ground was soft — we didn’t want to sink into the ground. Our space was right on the river and the view was lovely. Bathrooms were very clean and there was a nice book exchange in the rec room and convenient laundry. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We intend to come back later in the year.

My husband and I stayed in the salmon cabin and we could not be happier with our stay! Lisa was AMAZING, the location is great if you want to go to the Redwoods or Fern Canyon, the cabin was squeaky clean and had all the amenities we could want, there’s a two-person rocking chair on the porch where you can sit and watch the river or the stars, and it’s by far the nicest and safest RV park in the history of RV parks. Seriously. So impressed with Lisa, her customer service, and how well she runs everything. When my husband and I were worried about getting our van stuck in the mud at Fern Canyon she provided tow truck information just to have handy if needed, and gave us recommendations for other activities in the area. We loved it so much we extended our stay just so we could relax and continue enjoying the cabin. Can’t wait to go back! We’ll be recommending Golden Bear to everyone!

We had a great stay here because of Lisa. She was very welcoming and friendly, accommodating our last minute late arrival. Lisa made sure we were all set with a lovely spot on the river and we appreciated the clean facilities.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is very close to HWY 101, so it is a bit loud. The view of the river is good. Spots are a bit tight width wise. My main complaint is we stayed on the south end of the park and there is an open parking lot there. The caretakers failed to mention that they have a high theft rate on that end of the park due to that open parking lot. So we got $10k in bikes stolen even while locked up. They could at least put up a fence to keep that side safer or warn guests...

Place has a nice view. The owners there know that near the end of the RV park is where a lot of theives park and didn't tell us. And we got robbed of our bikes that were 14k in total and then told us after we got robbed and we had been getting stalked way before that. The bikes were locked, too, and they had bolt cutters. Also, water tasted like chlorine even when filtered. I also see this place is rated "kid friendly," but it ain't. Some creeps would pull up and watch me and my little siblings then drive off. Don't let your kid out alone it's very shady.

General Impression:Quaint and peaceful campground set aside the Klamath river. Smaller but memorable. Limited amenities in the winter, but great spot to get away from the city.Cost $60 / night military discountCampsite: well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. The campsites might be a little tricky to navigate with a big rig when the campground is full.Campsite # 32Campsite Level: yes, no need for leveling blocks.Campsite Type: asphalt pad with grass surround, pull through.Full / Partial hookup: 50 & 30, #thiftySewer does require a sidewinder because grass yard is raised from the pavement.Water: Bring your own water for drinking due to chlorination. Lisa, in particular went out of her way, to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. We arrived late in the evening after calling the same day for a spot due to a mechanical failure with our trailer. She came out to help us find the best suited spot and made sure we were settled comfortably for the night.Additional info:The only store with necessities is located about a mile down the road in the form of a gas station. Prices there are high!Trees of Mystery is only about 4.5 miles away and is a lot of fun. We definitely recommend the Skywalk along the canopy (only accessible for children and adults capable of walking unassisted) and riding the Gondola to the peak. The ocean is nearby and if you are lucky you may get to see a herd of elk.Plan to do some stargazing and don’t forget your fishing pole!Nearby activities: Fishing, Trees of Mystery, and Ocean beach

Nice, little RV park on the Klamath River in the perfect location to visit multiple parts of the Redwoods. The people working were super nice and friendly. The sites are a bit of a challenge to get in and out of, but they weren’t uptight about driving through the grass to make things work. I will say that even though it is right off of Highway 101, the highway noise wasn’t something I noticed most of the time. Mornings were peaceful enough that you could often hear the ocean. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Very nice rv park had pull through's along with river front views. Was a little expensive. Had 50 amp power water and sewer. The pavement was narrow in the parking spots. We were in a 40 ft motorhome and had to park our car on a angle to fit both on the site. We arrived on a Sunday to find most of the rv parks closed luckily we found a employee who was able to check us in. I would recommend this place.

Great site on the river facing the river. Flat roads and site. Paved road and pad. Full hook-ups with 50 amp. Very quiet. Although the site pads are narrow, they are sufficient for our 39' motorhome. The rest of the site is grass which does need to be watered.Nearby activities: Near Redwoods National and State Parks.

4-stars in some areas, 5-stars in others.4-stars: Hookups are odd. All rigs, trailers or other, have to pull in. This means when in a trailer, you pull in toward the front of another trailer then unhook and have to finagle a bit to get the truck back out. I'd love to see them fix this somehow.5-stars: Lisa and Melissa, park hosts! They were fantastic. We got the pleasure of staying next to them for the week and not only enjoyed meeting them but appreciated how they worked with me when I totally got our dates wrong.More about the park:This park is mostly regulars/seasonal. It is a basically a very popular fish camp. Lots of boats and fisher people. Most of who don't seem to welcome the visitors (even though we were there two weeks). Not all, mind you, but most. Some who were more welcoming were AWESOME!The laundry was extremely well kept. Next to it was a shared club room with a trading library. They have two adorable cabins for rent as well...very clean, spacious, and solidly built, by Amish I was told. The town of Klamath is VERY small...no grocery, but has a gas station, a diner, a hotel restaurant, and a bar/hamburger place. I *think* that's about it. Most people seemed very friendly, except the regulars at the bar whose seats we apparently took, lol. This was a great location for the Redwoods for us, it was situated between our highest priorities of Prairie Creek State Park and Jedediah Woods State Park. And Crescent City was not too bad of a drive.Note: there is NO cell service in this area. We did not use park WiFi because we had Starlink.

We have traveled a good portion of the US and hands down this has been our fav. The managers are so incredibly nice, the views are beautiful. And it was incredibly peaceful. Two caveats…which wouldn’t deter us from coming back. I 100% regret not staying more than a week.1. Wifi/starlink is not very good and at night when there are more people using it it is very slow. We went to the clubhouse to work and that was a tiny bit better at times.2. The sites were designed as drive in NOT back in, so the dump and plug in sites were the opposite of where they should be if you are backing your rig in. Ours is 44 ft so definitely backed in. Luckily you usually only have to dump once a week. They have very clean well maintained bathrooms and showers.

Really nice RV park with full hook-ups on the Kalamath river. The sites are a little hard to get into because they are not angled. The staff is absolutely wonderful, as is the owner. The only negative for me is that 101 gets busy in the morning. The view of the river is awesome. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Golden Bear RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Golden Bear RV Park in Klamath, CA is a hidden gem that exceeded all expectations. The serene river views instantly transport you to a state of relaxation, while the impeccably clean and neat RV sites and laundry room add to the overall comfort. The attention to detail is evident throughout the park, with well-maintained grounds, picnic tables and full hook ups. The laundry room is spotless and well-equipped with three washers and three dryers. Washers are $2 and dryers are $1 per load. The friendly and welcoming staff go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Whether you're seeking tranquility or exploring the natural beauty of Klamath and the surrounding areas, Golden Bear RV Park provides a perfect basecamp. Prepare to be captivated by the stunning views and enjoy the cleanliness and serenity this park offers. We only stayed a week because we had to continue on our travels, but wish we could’ve stayed longer. We travel full time and this is by far our favorite place to stay thus far, we will definitely be back!

After leaving Coos Bay we traveled south on the 101 to this RV Park right on the bay at Klamath. Quaint and very well maintained, this is one of the most picturesque settings we saw on the coast. There are approximately 50 sites and many are occupied by the same folks every year. This Park has its own docks with slips to accommodate approximately 24 vessels and the fishing is top notch. We would not hesitate to stay again ❤️. My understanding is that you need to book well in advance for the opportunity to stay at this awesome RV Park. Thank you!

Just finished staying in this awesome RV park right on the Klamath River. We saw an eagle, a bear across the river, water fowl, and watched fisherman bring in their catch of salmon at the RV parks own boat dock. They have a couple of cabins right on the river where you can go out in the morning and drink your coffee overlooking the river. The people are friendly and the park is quiet and well maintained. I will definitely be back!

We stayed for over 2 weeks in April.Pros: clean, good laundry (3 machines of each, quarters available in office)Friendly staff, other residents were quietWifi was decent (again we were there in off season)The river is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sea lions. (They did not have the dock in yet)Great proximity to prairie creek state park. High bluffs overlook and Klamath overlook are great especially at sunset.Nice gas station with diesel, propane filling, and basic supplies across the street. For groceries we went to Safeway in crescent city (35 to 45 minutes depending on construction).Picnic table at site.Sites are paved and level. Good hook ups. We used 50amp.Cons: hook ups are designed for a class a to pull in facing the river. So for everyone else they will be on the wrong side even in the pull through spots. We have a 43 foot fifth wheel and found it hard to maneuver the turns into the sites and at the edge of the park. We were just there in April and the place was empty luckily so we were able to pick a different site and use the neighboring hook ups. The sites are small. I can't imagine how tight it is when they're busy. Our fifth wheel fit in a pull through space, but our truck did not. We had to park in a neighboring space as did everyone else. Again not sure how this place will function in the summer. To sum it up I would not take a large RV there in peak season.Road noise from 101 (not enough to keep me awake at night)Lots of construction on 101 right now. Between Klamath and crescent city the were 4 zones of one way traffic where the lights took over 5 minutes.Shady characters walking along the road. Our neighbor had his grill stolen. There is a loose dog from the neighboring Indian reservation that frequently visited the park and our site. He was friendly, but I'd rather not worry about my dogs with him. They do not like to accept deliveries. I had to have everything shipped to general delivery at the post office. No fires allowed.Favorite things we did there were rhododendron trail, damnation trail, grove of Titans, and kayaked the Smith River with redwood rides outfitters.Fern canyon has a lot of dead ferns at the moment. So it was more brown than usual, but still beautiful. You need a permit starting may 1 to go there and you have to go down a 7 mile dirt road that has stream crossing or hike in.

I am relatively local, driving about an hour north to stay in Salmon Cabin for a 3 day mini solo retreat. I was amazed at how quiet the campground was. Such a peaceful place to be. The cabin was spotlessly clean, well stocked, safe (I was traveling alone) and cozy. I spent peaceful hours on the porch watching the river and wildlife flow on by day and the stars by night. The women in the office were very helpful and friendly. It’s a very comfortable cabin with a very comfy bed. I can’t say enough good things about my experience.Bring all the food supplies you need because there isn’t a store nearby.Do consider a canoe ride with the Yurok guides in a traditionally carved redwood canoe. A visit to the Klamath river overlook at up Requa rd. And the little Yurok trail about 10 mins north is a nice scenic hike with access to a beautiful beach.A very refreshing get away.

We stayed here for a few months, and have nothing but great things to say. Mike, the manager, is awesome. He is always around if you need him for anything, and is very accommodating. He is a really a great guy. Lisa and Melissa are the nicest ladies, and really help to make things go smoothly in the office, and around the park. They work as a great team with Mike to keep the park safe. The owners are very friendly and are involved in their business. The bathrooms are very nice and clean; and were recently remodeled by Mike. They have starlink internet and works amazing with an extender for Netflix etc. The views of the Klamath are spectacular, we were sad to leave this spot and hopefully we will be back. Thanks for everything guys!!!

Perfect spot for visiting the Redwoods. About halfway between Trinidad and Crescent City so we never had to travel too far to do our hikes. Even though it’s off the main road, it was still quiet and peaceful in April. Gorgeous, kid-friendly spot with sites backing up to the river and fun wildlife sightings. We saw a black bear (across the river and a ways down), 2 bald eagles, and sea lions swam past our site barking every day. Our kids loved the animals, flying kites, hunting down banana slugs and snails, and fishing from the dock area (even though we didn’t catch anything:). Friendly and helpful manager on-site and responsive owner who answered emails right away. Clean bathrooms and reasonably priced laundry ($2 wash/$1 dry). There’s a gas station store down the road that had what we needed and a good (but kind of pricey) breakfast restaurant a few minutes away. Close to Klamath Overlook (a nice spot to whale watch), Trees of Mystery (kitschy but still worth the money), and the drive thru tree. If it wasn’t a 14 hour drive each way for us, I would camp here every single year.Notes: (1) If you are doing a back in site on the river, you do need extra long hook up hoses because you have to run them under your RV/trailer. We bought a sewer hose extension from Walmart, but they also sell them for the same price at the office there. (2) They don’t have fire pits or allow wood fires here. We brought a portable gas fire pit to make s'mores, and it was fine.

Very easy to find and good location next to Klamath river, very quiet and peaceful. The cabins are on the trailer wheel, and does not block too much noise while it's very easy to creat loud noise even light walking steps. There should be more than one trash bags to supply the cabin and less clean up fees if the host expect guest to spent hours to clean up like how it was after depature.

Stayed September of 2022. When we showed up a day early they were very accommodating and found a site for us and the couple traveling with us. Sites are nice, shower house and laundry very clean. Highly recommend.
