Great Ice cream and gelato spot with outdoor dining area near by Kings beach. The place is small with 2-3 people working with huge orders. So, the line did move slowly, but they did their best in serving their customers. We got hot fudge sundae and a smoothie. Both ice cream and smoothie were served with generous portion and loved the taste of it. To complement it, the outdoor area was pleasant to enjoy our ice cream. Highly recommend this place!

How can you not give ice cream 5 stars.. ok well nevermind there are bad ones out there. Thankfully, the ice cream here is good, and they have a good selection of flavors and concoctions.Their shakes are a good size, and the Mr Chip Sunday is loaded with chips. This is a good stop to cover that sweet tooth craving.

Blueberry and Strawberry flavor ice cream is too good. Also, we bought white chocolate raspberry gelato and that was amazing. Apart from that, the cherry ice cream is more of a syrup taste, that can be better.Overall, my family loved ice creams and gelato from Log Cabin 😊

The line is huge but it is so worth it! I visited this place after someone recommended it, they told me that this was the best ice cream they have ever had, and I agree with that. First of all, the choices of flavors and types of ice cream are very very large. Secondly, they also sell gelato. Thirdly, it is a family business so buying from them supports the local small businesses.The photo does not do the ice-cream justice.

I absolutely loved how they had at least seven different gluten-free options, and they were very amenable to making changes to the menu based on your preferences. For example, you could put your Crabs Benedict on top of spinach instead of regular egg muffins or even gluten-free bread. I also get a side of gluten-free pancakes which were absolutely delicious and really big. It was Swedish style pancakes! Also, I got a peppermint Italian soda that was less sugary, and very delicious. I would definitely come back here again, if I was in the area.

Good ice cream at expected lake Tahoe prices. The cookie dough didn't have many cookie dough pieces in it but the cookies and cream was really good! The ice cream scoops are about softball size so it's not a bad price if you do the scoops!

Great place to get good ice cream! We thought the place was close because the business is located around back. They have a nice little Courtyard so you can enjoy your ice cream out there. Ice cream was good. However, a small dish of ice cream was $6 each.

Ice cream and gelato spot with outdoor dining area. It’s located behind a building (you’ll notice the line up people along the ramp if you’re there after dinner). Street parking is available and there was a small lot with limited parking. Credit cards are accepted. There are two mixed-use bathrooms available (and they have a rosemary mint soap!).There were only two employees working so the line did move a bit slowly, but to their credit, they were still friendly and were doing their best. We got a one scoop hot fudge sundae that came whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and a cherry. We opted for strawberry ice cream, which was icy. However, they gave us a generous portion of hot fudge, which made me happy. The outdoor area is cute and there are tables available for big groups. They also have smoothies, gelato, and milkshakes available. Overall, it’s a homey spot to grab dessert.

Great family run place.Had the s'mores sundae with Rocky road ice cream. Was a great combination when topped with the marshmallow cream, hot fudge and gram crackers.The owner was a pleasure to talk to and wishing them the best.We'll definitely come by next time we're in Tahoe

We waited 40 minutes in line, we wanted to get a banana split with the gelato flavors they said no. So we went with a 4 scoops gelato and a 2 scoop gelato. Worst “Gelato” I had in my life. That’s not even a gelato, my ice cream was dry and full of ice inside. I highly suggest to avoid the “gelato”

Walking distance from Kings Beach. The Rainbow Sherbet is very good. About $5.50 each. Not too crowded here. Has many seating areas outside the store. Will definitely come back.

Went here three mornings in a row. Great food and decent prices! The staff/service here is somewhat inconsistent though. One morning they ignored our requests for water/service because they were extremely busy. The next morning, it wasn't busy at all yet they still gave us equally poor service. But we came here for the food so we overlooked the service.

Came to Tahoe this weekend with the family and wanted a traditional American brunch restaurant. The place was packed so we waited for about 45 minutes and decided to have coffee first at another place. Well, it was worth the wait. We ordered the Huevos con Pupusas, Cajun Eggs Benedict, Lobster Eggs Benedict and I had the Chester's Breakfast. Talk about comfort food, we just dove in and enjoyed every bit of it.

We waited in line for 45 minutes. There were only 2 people working behind the counter. Most folks were ordering sundaes or shakes, probably because they had waited in line so long.The ice cream flavors options were somewhat limited. We had a brownie sundae, which was good but not worth the wait.

The worst shakes I’ve ever had. I spent $30 on two shakes of completely different flavors just for them both to taste like milk. I saw someone order sundaes and those looked very good. Definitely stick to the sundaes if you head here!

My hubby & I are here in Tahoe for our 3rd honeymoon after we originally honemooned at Olympic Village Inn @ Squaw Valley 30 years ago - we're re-visiting all our fave spots and discovering new ones, too -- this was a newbie for us/ I honestly don't know how we missed it during all our trips up here over the years? I have nothing but great things to say about this homey, log cabin-style restaurant! I admit I was a little leary when the sign out front read "voted best breakfast". We had recently been to a place in TX which had a "best pizza in town" sign out front and it was hands down the worst I'd ever had! Eek! Yet, here in this quaint spot, I literally cried happy tears when the sweet waitress brought out the gluten-free pancake I ordered (shaped w/ a leafy-edge even, as pictured here!) and I took my first bite! :) I have never cried over food, yet everything we ate here was amazing -- real, fresh food - and I was so happy to have a GF pancake option! (I'm GF by choice for the sake of my thyroid, possibly dealing w/ Hashimoto's, just got tested, but have been GF by choice for 5 years!). I have NEVER found a place which offers GF pancakes, so I was already a little impressed, but expecting something pretty tasteless, but boy was I in for a treat! The GF pancake was topped with REAL whipped butter and pure maple syrup on the side. They also had GF french toast on the menu, another new option I've never found in a restaurant. If I could have handled it, along with the GF smoked salmon benedict (also delish!) and GF pancake, I would have ordered it, too - almost did, just because the GF pancake was so good - ha! :) My hubby, who is not GF, took a bite of the pancake and was pleasantly surprised as well! He ordered a chai latte and said it was the BEST of the best! He also thoroughly enjoyed his biscuits and gravy, again saying they were amazing! The service was super! The place was charming, decorated with homemade table runners on all the walls -- FYI -- you can purchase these, too. It's a real cabin-home converted quite nicely to a restaurant, cafe-style. I think the owners live in the back of it as when we went upstairs to wait (in the comfy "bedroom lounge" lined w/ leather couches all around), there was a sign saying "private residence" on the door at the top of the stairs. The only thing I could say which is questionable about the place is I don't know if there is a bathroom on the bottom floor and I don't know if there is handicap access to upstairs, where there is a bathroom? This is not an issue for me personally, but if I was dealing with any physical mobility challenge, I would ask about it before coming. My husband and I were so impressed we spoke w/ the owner/wife -- so charming and kind -- before leaving. She said her hubby had been at it 35 years, she for 34 (she met him there!) & all the recipes are his own. We said, well, they got it down! They're getting ready to take a break for winter (this is Fall 2018), so get over there quick if you are looking for the BEST BREAKFAST -- truly yummy -- in the north Tahoe area! This is a true gem we almost passed up, yet are so glad we found!

Our visit here yesterday was nice, the staff here was nice and with the space they are working in if there was more than 2 it would be very difficult unless 1 person stayed on the register. The ice cream we got was delicious for 3 small single cups and 1 signature sundae it was $24 which wasn't too bad. It was good but there should be some kind of line system because there was a few large groups that sometimes crowd the doorway.Overall thank you for the experience we enjoyed it!

Ice cream is always delicious and the staff is so nice! They did take some time scooping out the ice cream but overall would recommend going there after a hot day on the lake.
