Whispering Pines is a great place to stay! The rooms are beautiful, well equipped, private, and have wonderful views from private balconies. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay! The location is ideal near "downtown" Kernville, fronting the river. We stayed for 2 nights in a river view room and enjoyed watching and hearing the river from our room and balcony. We could walk down and dip our toes in the river while soaking up the serenity of the area. We will definitely be back and will recommend Whispering Pines to all our friends! Do yourself a favor and book this place!!Rooms: Beautiful, comfortable, roomy, and well-appointed with soft comfy beds and pillows, great fireplace!

We stayed here right after Christmas for a little get away from the city and we loved it! The lodges are surrounded by pine trees and the river along one side. We had the kitchenette cabin with the king size bed and fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Customer service was great with recommendations on the best places to eat and making sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back!

We had a great week long stay-cation and Whispering Pines Lodge was a great getaway. We checked in after hours, but Juanita (manager) stayed in touch via text to make sure we found our room, etc.The views that greeted us in the morning were fantastic! I've stayed in other hotels in Kernville, but from now on I'll only be staying at The Whispering Pines Lodge. Clean and comfortable rooms, refurbished swimming pool, very helpful and friendly staff.

Visited Kernville this late winter assuming there will be some activity but kernville seems to be a summer town , except for sight seeing no activity was open. But the disappointment was made up by our stay in whispering pine .. though we arrived early at 2 PM they warmly took us in and helped with some pointers. The rooms are separate cabins with a deck with best view ..most of the rooms face the kern river flow. Some rooms have a kitchenette.. with high quality utensils, rooms have mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. They give coffee mate creamer for the coffee not some low quality one like in other hotels. Rooms have gas fireplace .. Beds are good. There is a nice 3-9ft small swimming pool it’s not a heated pool so we couldn’t enjoy much but in summer it will be a great place to hangout as the view is great from there. Lot of parking lot of free space .. close to restaurants, gas .. kids enjoyed running around the property.

This place is awesome, rooms are clean and well maintained, it has a nice chimney that will keep you warm at night in winter , a nice TV , microwave, little fridge too… it has a pool for the summer time , some rooms have balconies that face the Kern River and the sound of the river is so relaxing, plus it’s close to the Downtown of Kernville and it’s very affordable…. The woman at front desk is very nice and has excellent customer service, she made us feel like we are home away from home , we will definitely come here every time we come to Kernville… plus this place is dog friendly too…. 👍🏻👏👏👏

Had a fantastic time staying here. Amazing spot to stay when travelling through the National Parks and Forrest’s.We booked this last minute and it was one of the best decisions of the trip.Couldn’t recommend it enough.Spacious room, air con, large bathroom, cable and coffee making facilities.Any of the staff we met were so nice and friendly and it’s right next to a local brew pub!

We only stayed one night and wished it had been longer. Arriving at Whispering Pines felt like a wonderful oasis - we had a swim at the pool, enjoyed the spacious room and the balcony. Everything is a little bit faded and slightly outdated, which added to the charm of it. Great tip from the reception: dinner at the Kernville Brewery, which is only a short walk away.

Cannot say enough good things about our stay here! The staff was so helpful and gave us all of our room information the morning before our stay. We came during some snowy weather and didn’t get in until late at night. We were delighted when we walked into a very warm and adorably decorated room. The view of the Kern River in the morning was to die for. We will definitely be back!

The property is in a great location next to the Kern river.Our balcony overlooked the river and the pool was sparkling clean with a fireplace in our room.Our accommodations were very cozy and clean . We were celebrating our 49nd anniversary and our hosts brought us a bottle of champagne. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we would stay here again and highly recommend Whispering Pines.

My family has stayed at whispering Pines many times. We love their pool + hospitality. The view is breathtaking and a great place to visit anytime of the year. We like to walk into town to have dinner at the Kern River Brewing Company. Plus their property is fun to explore.

Great romantic, getaway location with beautiful views of the River, Mountains and Trees! Valerie was a very nice and knowledgeable host/staff! Room was spacious and clean with an awesome shower that also came with a separate bathtub if you enjoy bubble baths! The area also has some nice stores, restaurants to check out. Highly recommended!

We stayed a few weeks ago and it was very pleasant and peaceful. We had a great view overlooking the River down below. Usually we camp at one of the sites but wanted to have a comfortable stay somewhere and we got it! No issues whatsoever with anything. This was a quaint little place. Our room overlooked the river. It wasn’t fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a couple of dips in the pool. I would have rated as a 5 star experience except for the roadie group that had a party the second night. Room amenities included a refrigerator and coffeemaker.

Ryan and CiCi are excellent hosts! They have taken over for their parents and the place has never looked better. I hear they’re also going to offer a yurts soon. The pool is clean and the new furniture is very becoming with a great view. The rooms seem to be refreshed and with new mattresses. We were in room 118 and it has a hot tub large enough for two middle-aged adults. The trail down to the river is beautiful and you can take your kids fishing right there. Several rooms cooked some soup on the outdoor grill and we all shared. The Whisper is back in the Pines! If you have been here before, you’ll enjoy it more this time around as Ryan and CiCi are awesome!! I highly recommend. BTW, this is next to several restaurants, all with breathtaking views and price moderately to high-end. There’s also a gas station in market less than 500 feet from the hotel.

Beautiful lodge with great amenities. I absolutely loved my stay at Whispering Pines. Check in was very easy and flexible. The room was clean on arrival. The TV was almost laughably old, but I don't think that's why most people are coming out to WPL. The air conditioner, heat, and fireplace all worked great and were nice additions to the room. Having a balcony and view of the river was pretty special and I'm glad the staff recommended it. The view of the stars from the balcony was absurdly beautiful. And the pool was well maintained and accessible from the rooms. My only complaint with WPL is that the Wifi was very spotty, which has to be fixed in 2022. Even from a safety standpoint, spotty service necessitates having good Wifi for travelers. It was reasonably priced and with a great proximity to the town, couldn't have been more convenient. Would surely stay again if I'm passing through Kernville!
