Excellent experience. Service was quick.and the servers were very pleasant. Cheese curds and Coconut shrimp for appetizers, both of which were very tasty. I had the vegetable pasta with shrimp while one friend had the Pot Pie, and the other had the Skillet Chicken. My friends also partook of the house wine, raspberry lemon drops and a dirty martini

We went on a Friday night with no reservation. Waited 5 minutes to be seated. This place has such an amazing atmosphere and amazing food! We ordered the fish n chips, clam chowder, pan seared salmon, and the seafood pasta. Everything was so delicious and fresh! And reasonably priced. This is truly a gem, the view of the river and the mountains is breath taking. If you are in the area do not hesitate to come!

This place is beautiful and has a gorgeous view.The food consists of American burgers, sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads. The cocktails and drink selection is plentiful. The 24k gold old fashioned is majestically glamorous as it has edible glitter in it.I will definitely go again as nothing beats eating with good views. 😀

We love dining here! We've never had a bad meal and the staff is so kind. Food is flavorful and well-prepared. Their flat fries and cheese curds are fabulous. The views are amazing. Ambiance is great.Meals we had:Fish and ChipsSkillet ChickenBurgerCajun PastaFrench DipNote to Management: when it comes to your coffee flavor sweeteners, please carry the non-sugar free variety, or please train your waitresses to ask if sugar-free is okay. I wasn't told and have a sensitivity to sugar-free varieties that causes migraines. I wasn't informed and forgot to ask. Most places are pretty good at asking if sugar-free is okay if that's all they carry.

Party in back room unbearably loud.No warning upon entry. Karaoke grad party. No door between rooms, plus piped music in conflict. Service great. Pork chop was strongly spiced, savory over the cinnamon. Carrots were crispy crunchy, not medium steamed. Chicken pot pie seemed a mild curry inclusion. Mushroom appetizer was delicious. Waitress was prompt & attentive. View of river was great.Owner Neil said it's a 1x per year grad party for High School kids. Still, it ruined what was supposed to be a fine dining experience. They adjusted the bill, but that took a long wrassel with their computer billing.

Three stars for food and atmosphere.-1 star for consistently poor service.-1 more star for how Ewings staff treats others outside of the business environment. Personally, I find it distasteful to *boo children* at their high school graduation.Your mileage may vary; eat here at your own risk. The food is fine, but the staff at every other restaurant in town is far friendlier and exceptionally more helpful. Very disappointed in this establishment.

1st time here since they remodeled (2nd in total) and it looks great. Food was spectacular and of course the views were great. Homemade fries, great drinks. Can't wait to come back and try a steak 😋.

As cute as this restaurant looks, I would not recommend eating here if you enjoy seasoning in your food. I can only speak for the top sirloin and salmon risotto (maybe the other dishes are better), but there was not an herb or spice in sight. I was extremely disappointed for the price we paid.However the clam chowder was maybe the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. I wish I had just ordered that.

My husband and I are locals and frequently dine at Ewing’s. Neal and Ami(owner’s) are amazing people. We went here for my birthday yesterday,March 3rd, and from the welcome greeting that we received from Savanna the bartender/server to the phenomenal service we received from our server Allie, we couldn’t of picked a better place to dine. I have been battling some health issues so getting out was a treat. I want to thank Neal for taking the time to come over and speak with us. Savannah made our bar experience so pleasant and Allie was so attentive to our needs during our meal. I being an alumni from when Ewing’s first opened again, I know what is involved with the food and hospitality businesss. I just want to give a BIG THANK YOU to the front and back of the house of this great restaurant. You all made my birthday a memorable one. Thanks again,❤️🙏🏻

The food, the view and the service!!! The menu is on a bit of an expensive side for what it is. However, it was some of the best chicken pot pie I ever had. Also, get the cider there, sooo delicious. Top that off with the view and the swiftly, polite service, I’m happy with my choice coming there and definitely recommend everyone to try

Was just at Ewings, if you are looking for a place with awesome views and great food, Ewings is the place.I had the sesame salad with chicken while my husband had the old fashioned burger. Both entrées were excellent, the portions were generous but not ginormous. Sorry, I don't photograph my food. Considering how everything has increased in cost, we felt the menu items were reasonably priced.Service was excellent, order was promptly taken and the turnaround for serving was impressive. Pets are allowed , but only on the outdoor patio, water bowl was also provided, we and our dog appreciated it. Highly recommend Ewings, quite the experience 👌

I got takeout from here and it was fine. Best part was the fries. Sandwich was decent. I think the draw to this place is the views but if you're staying somewhere with a great view then what's the point. Parking was also terrible.

Surprisingly good. The salmon and risotto was superb. Crispy outside and moist inside, the flavor on the salmon was superb. The rare ahi tuna was ok. The tuna seemed to be a few days past it’s prime. The clam chowder flavor was excellent but served at a mild temperature rather than hot.Service was superb. The staff met our every need. Recommend eating at this restaurant.

It's a beautiful restaurant, lots of character and awesome Kern River views. Very friendly staff. Excellent house margarita. Food is great. The new owners Neal and Amie came over to our table and talked to us. Great experience. Will definitely come here again when in town.

Ewings has been around for a long time. It switched ownership a little while back and has improved a lot. I've been there 3 times in the past few months, and the food has always been good the service has also been consistently good. I wish some of the appetizer selections were a little more diverse I guess, but the overall experience is good. The location with the view of the Kern River Valley is spectacular.

My friend Jeff and I stopped at Ewings for dinner last night. We were greeted by the hostess whose name is “Sierra”! She had a big smile and sat us down at a table by the window with a fantastic view of the Kern river. She suggested the house Bloody Mary’s. We asked her to spice them up a bit and have the bartender make them strong! Great cocktails to start the dinner off! We ordered the ribeye steaks medium rare and Jeff had a loaded baked potato and I got house special mashed potatoes. That came with charred Brussel sprouts, that were excellent. Not over cooked, a Unique sauce and cooked to perfection just a bit al dente. The ribeye steaks were excellent as well also cooked perfectly. I got the New York cheesecake with a raspberry topping and Jeff got the cheesecake with caramel sauce. Sierra was also our waitress and she was perfect, attentive and came back to check on us regularly. A great gal, funny and made us feel like family! I left her a 25% + tip and she earned every penny of it! That was one of the best dinners I have had in a very long time! I would highly recommend Ewings for dinner when you come to Kernville! Say Hi to Sierra from Jeff and steve. Tell her you read the review from Steve on Google maps!

Can't deny the cheese curds and the view is great but the service and all their other food options are absolutely horrible. I got some special Mac and cheese dish and it was literally, unmistakably, boxed Velveeta with a garnish and 2 day old cold meat on the side. It would've been funny if it wasn't almost $20. Everything is two times over priced and they still cheap the food down. I'd spend your money anywhere else. Not to mention the owners original response to this is as trashy and unprofessional as their service staff and food lol. Very regretful for the 5 or so I've given them money. Hope more locals like me stop going. Tourist if you're thinking of eating here I'd try the trash can at your campsite. Still get a view of the river and you'll find better food than boxed Velveeta shells and bone dry pork. Might get lucky and someone will have thrown away some Kraft or tri tip that was supposed to be on the dish but wasn't.

This place is amazing. As far as location it doesn't get better. Dream like views of the mountains overlooking the Kern River, fun, community loving atmosphere, and a beautiful building with a rich history. Customer service is TOP notch! I felt like customer service was dead, but they restored my faith. The food is wonderful! Well thought out menu, with a great selection for the whole family. They don't skimp when it comes to quality. Very well thought out recipes that deliver unique and wonderful tastes even to a sophisticated palate. Highly recommend Ewings on the Kern, they will not disappoint.
