A wonderful diner nestled in the heart of Kernville. Plenty of seating, family friendly atmosphere and excellent customer service. The portions here are giant!!! And the food tastes great. I ordered the club sandwich and my daughter the burger, so yummy.I enjoyed a lovely lunch here with my daughter and will definitely return.

The wait staff is friendly as can be and the food is fresh. Choose inside or outside seating. They have a decent menu of main dishes, sandwiches, burgers and sides. I had the Baja Burger which is a burger with Swiss cheese and an Ortega chili. It was tasty. Their fries are crispy, crunchy goodness.My son had the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was a THICK piece of meat, crunchy fried with fresh made white gravy. Good stuff.A nice place to go for good food and, on a nice day, to sit outside and take in the activity of the area around you.

Stepping into 'Cheryl's Diner' was an experience in itself, with servers who definitely stood out from the usual. While the food was decent, it was their house special that truly shined—a burst of flavors that left a lasting impression. The diner's prime location added an extra layer of charm, making it a great stop for both locals and visitors.

Cheryl’s always offers terrific food with exceptional service — and I’m an enormous fan of the classic American small-town diner atmosphere.As someone who has prolific experience with “nowhere-town diner” menus, I can say that my expectations aren’t high; many locations will offer a wider selection than they’re capable of handling, or simply phone-it-in on what little they *do* offer citing little reason to do better, given their remote location. Either way, the end result is the same: mediocre or bad food.I am extraordinarily happy to say I have yet to have even a lackluster experience with Cheryl’s. The food never disappoints, and I always try to have something different with every visit — a change is as good as a rest! I definitely recommend the Reuben sandwich, and their Turkey-Bacon Club is spectacular, as well.Please give Cheryl’s a chance!

The service was good. They were very busy but we received our food in a timely manner. The biscuits and gravy were OK, one of the biscuits was kind of burnt and gravy was warm, not hot. The eggs and hash browns were very good, however, the sausage links tasted like they were microwaved. The pancakes were light and delicious, but they are served with little tiny butters that take awhile to open.

Such a cool and funky place to eat. Staff are so welcoming and funny, food service is really quick, under 10 mins!!! The quality of food is not bad actually, I had the best Egg Benedict in California so far, also the venue is clean and has outdoor section as well, and a parking structure. Prices are affordable and cheap comparing with the neighboring venues, and they have various options and also kids’ menu as well. I’d come here again for sure.

First time here, and loved the environment. Everyone was extremely friendly, and welcoming. Food was delicious. And we were able to bring our dog with us, and be served on the patio.

I'm a diner freak, and let me tell you, this is THE PLACE. They have it all. It's a classic diner environment with local community vibes. Every one of the staff was warm and friendly. My food was maybe 4 stars (I only had one meal mind you - eggs, hash browns, and biscuit) but it was GOOD. They kept the coffee coming, and let me stay for a while to use wifi. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the Valley!

UPDATE : revisited Cheryl's Diner 4/9/2021 family of 7 is always a big order 😜 WOW Great improvement from our 1st visit.June 2020 Cheryl's diner easy to find, minimal parking, they offer indoor and outdoor seating, handicap parking and access, very pleasant waitresses. So we visited on a NON holiday weekend, due to COVID19 there was a few minute wait, expected👍 our order was taken right away. However it was 45 minutes before food started showing up 😲 one of the grandchild's food was still another 15 minutes away, just 1 🥞 pancake!! Sadly all our hash browns and home fries were COLD, the corned beef hash was not cooked crispy as asked 2x, The toast was wrong, my omelet had raw eggs in sections of it 🤔 not sure how that could happen anyways my poor grandson's pork sausage patty was raw!! We had to go find the waitress to bring this to her attention & then asked for a manager. Yes it was getting busy but no excuse for 45 + minute wait for a family of 7 to receive food without any communication from our waitress. The waitress apologized, I asked the raw food be removed from the bill they exceeded our requests apologized again. I would give Cheryl's Diner a second chance if traveling back through the area. I believe there intentions were good. Perhaps it was just a COVID19 issue 😊

This place is friendly and has amazing food. Let our service dog in no questions asked. Even gave her water. The corn beef hash was delicious! Great people and great diner!

The waitress was really good to the kids. Of course they wanted whipped cream on their pancakes so she got it for them. It was Mother's Day and I got me a rose which I thought was nice. The boys which are my sons enjoyed it as well. I will be coming back there because I live in Lake Isabella. My children are from Reno Nevada. Thank you so much for the great Mother's Day meal.

Friday is all u can eat fish, it was great along with all the sides. We took home two extra pieces.
