Gull Lake Lodge checked all the boxes. Clean and spacious room at an accessible price point. it appeared to be newly remodeled with a comfortable new couch, fun California shaped coffee table, giant TV, comfy living room area, fully stocked kitchen, clean appliances, freshly ground coffee, big comfortable bed with nice linens, stocked shower toiletries, plenty of towels and a great location to take a stroll anywhere around town. You check in straight to the room which is great. I had a couple questions and simply calling or texting management who promptly returned text or calls and made it super easy and convenient. What I soon realized is that any questions I had were generally answered by little notes dispersed around the room. We really enjoyed our stay, the Gull Lake Lodge embodied what we love about June.

I totally love this motel! Very updated and modern style makes you feel like you're at home. Rooms are self check in because they send you a code to get inside on the day of your arrival. We stayed at the Tioga one bedroom king suite. They are so spacious I felt like we're in our own apartment. We were able to bring our little pup with us.They have complimentary coffee from one of their local coffee shop with my husband loved! (Sorry we finished it all during our stay)Their kitchen has all the amenities that you'd need to cook a really good meal from oils to spices, knives, plates, pots, dish soap etc. like I said we felt like we were at our own apartment. If there's was a problem you can always text one of their on call staff. (Which we never did)The lodge it's self is very quiet, no loud noises from others that stayed there nor your upstairs guests.Overall we have enjoyed this stayed at the gull lodge. Im glad that we were able to book this and continue to book in the near future.Rooms: Rooms are so spacious.Safety: The place is very nice and quiet. No loud noise from locals no guests.Food & drinks: Complementary coffee from one of the local coffee shops. They have a local grocery store that supplies on what you need to cook at your room.

Apparently there are new owners. I didn’t think it’d make a difference but I’m really impressed with everything they’ve done.Great location for fishing in the summer or skiing at June Mt in the winter (and Yes, June is better than crowded Mammoth).Gull Lake Lodge has so many things you need. First aid kit? Olive oil? Spices? Paper towels? This place has a FULL kitchen. Need a wine opener? They have it. It’s all there. They have a contact free check in.If you text them they actually text back. This place is old school and new (they have WiFi and electronic locks) at the same time.June has always been a place my family visited (going back to the 1950s). This is a great place to stay.Rooms: The rooms are large. Parking is easy.Nearby activities: Fishing in the Loop is legendary.Skiing at June Mt is like having your own private mountain.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Gull Lake lodge. Previously, I stayed at the lodge a long time ago (more than 10 years ago) and it was okay but not as good as now. The host did great job renovating the facility. Everything was well prepared and well stocked, I didn't have to ask for any extra stuff for my 3 nights of stay. I could see the host put some thought into. The little details make a big difference. It is not a fancy lodge but it is perfect for a family including your furry family member. Also, the whole process, from the reservation to contactless check in/out worked out great. The communication was excellent and prompt. I'd like to give the host a big thumbs up 👍P.S. The heater makes noise when it's on. Using ear plugs helped me.

We are so glad we found this little gem in June Lake Village. It is a sixty-year-old motel, yet, it's been remodeled, clean and very comfortable. They provided pillows with two different heights in addition to nice thick towels and local organic coffee! We and our little fur baby stayed here for three nights and we loved how close it is to the lakes that we hiked around every morning. This place is like a home away from home!Rooms: It has been remodeled, very clean and comfortable.Nearby activities: We hiked around Gull Lake, which took us about one and half hours. Beautiful views around the lake.Instead of hiking, make sure you drive north to the Mono Lake Tufa. It's beautiful under the sun with the reflection, but the sunset color is more stunning! If you are heading south to Mammoth area, you have to visit the Twin Lake overlook, Lake Mary and Horseshoe Lake. The Devil's Postpiles and Rainbow Fall are also places you don't want to miss!Walkability: It is walking distance to both Gull Lake and June Lake. We walked to the lakes in the morning during our stay. We loved Gull Lake especially - it is gorgeous in October! It's also close to June Lake main street. We ordered pizza one evening and strolled over later to pick it up.Noteworthy details: I usually have issues with pillows in the hotels because my neck but here they provided pillows with two different heights. In addition, instead of cheap, thin towels, you will find nice thick towels here. Really enjoy it! Last but not least, they provided local organic espresso coffee grounds instead of k-cups. We enjoyed a nice cup of coffee every morning during our stay!

We have stayed here numerous times and have always enjoyed the “cabin feel”, having a kitchen so we can settle in after a full day out, and the fact it is in a quiet neighborhood where we can walk to many local places. We have our favorite room which I will keep to myself! It is a good central location for us to take off on day trips as we like to do! Everything is contactless with regards to checking in and out, but if we needed something there was no issue getting help!We will be back as soon as we need an Eastern Sierra fix again!

I had a great three nights with friends at the Gull Lake during a huge winter storm that shut down 395 between June Lake and Mammoth for the better part of a week. Our room was immaculately clean, had a functional layout, and the kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals.Staff members made contact prior to our arrival to update us on road status/conditions. They stayed in touch throughout our stay and added an additional night at the same rate due to the prolonged closure of 395.Their maintenance guy did snow removal relentless throughout the majority of each day we were there, keeping the parking and access in great shape. Thanks to the staff for facilitating such a great stay. I can't recommend the Gull Lake Lodge enough!

Great place! We were snowed in for three days and it was a very pleasant spot to weather the storm. Easy walk to the bars in town and a quick drive to the ski area. Their snow removal efforts were ceaseless and the staff was very helpful, calling us regularly to give updates on road closures and letting us know they were holding our room if we couldn’t get out of town.Check in is airbnb style, they just send you a code for the door but management was on site during the day and easily reachable by phone.Units are huge for the price - ours had a well stocked full kitchen with a dining table, a living area with futon, bedroom with a king size bed, and a big bathroom for the same price as a regular motel. It was plenty of space for three guys to share. Everything was absolutely spotless and there were some nice little extras like a can of good coffee grounds from a local shop.I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

A conveniently location that is a short walk to everything. The kitchens have everything you need to cook meals if you didn't want to eat at one of the great restaurants in town, which I would recommend hitting all of them.Everything was clean and in good working condition, one of the guests took advantage of the BBQs and we will be definitely bringing steak next time we stay(smelt so good!).Also the staff was very friendly, available and helpful! We needed to stay an extra day while roadside assistance got to our rental car and they were very understanding and helpful and definitely helped make tough situation better.All-in-all great experience for our first time in June!Oh, the skiing was awesome as well, unique mountain that had something for everyone and good snow to boot!Nearby activities: We were there during the winter so the ski base was a short 5 minute drive down the road.Safety: We definitely felt safe in this mountain town.Walkability: We were a 3 to 5 minute walk from the main street and if there wasn't snow piled high, we would have been right down from the lake.Food & drinks: It's a pleasant walk into town where there are a few great places with good food and drink.Noteworthy details: Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had some rental car issues. Becka and Carman, with the hotel, helped shift things around to allow us to stay an additional day while we AAA and roadside assistance got to us. We were so grateful for their understanding regarding our situation and their willingness to work around their other reservations to accommodate us.Thank you!!!

My family and I are just finishing up our stay here at Gull Lake Lodge. We absolutely loved it! We spent our first week at the Westin in Mammoth then came here to escape the Christmas crowds. The rooms are super clean and nice. The staff is very very friendly and not intrusive. We had a full kitchen with everything we needed to cook meals. I suggest grocery shopping before you arrive. There is a small grocery and a few restaurants up the road. June Mountain ski area is about a 3 minute drive up the road. We loved it and felt super safe.Thank You!

The place was a little bit old BUT, Lodge was comfortable , a studio type. The lodge where my husband and daughter stayed has a room with king-sized bed. Receiving area has a trundle sofa/bed. Room good for 4 people. Has a fridge, gas stove, sink, coffee maker, microwave, a dining table, and TV. No aircon (place was cold during night time even during the summertime. Heater available. Outside view was beautiful. A few minutes walk to the Gull Lake. Front desk lady was friendly and accommodating. I had a little chitchat with her. Hi, Ms. S!Before reaching the place, you'll go by June Lake a spectacular view, with nice beach, clean water, great for swimming during summertime.

This is my second stay here and second review. You could call me a Gull Lake lodge pro now. First stay we were in one of the cabins across the street from the Motel and we had two female black widows in our room in the kitchen. My wife brushed one of them with her hand and freaked. I had my 1 year old in the room which made the rest of the stay very uncomfortable. We stayed in the Motel this time and I checked every nook and cranny in the entire room. Cobb webbs behind most of the furniture and only one sign of fresh spider webs behind the head board which I decided I wouldn't tell the wife I had found... But the rest of the room checked out OK and I felt pretty comfortable staying this time. No interaction with the staff check in and check out very easy. Still have to rate a 3 out of 5 for cleanliness. 4 for comfort. 2 for amenities seeing as the wall heater is about twenty years out of date and really noisy woke up both the kids every time the thing fired up... But for the location and availability they get return business. Could use a lot more attention in the rooms and updating but it is what it is.

My husband and I stayed here for a special occasion and absolutely loved it. The stuff is more than accommodating and it was a perfect yet simple place to stay to go riding in the mountains. We enjoyed the beauty surrounding this place compared to staying right in Mammoth. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower nice and hot. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a simple stay with everything that you would need.

The unit we, a party of 4, stayed for 2 nights was well cleaned and maintained ok overall with some utensils, dishes and pots. No complaint about it. Howerver, it had a wall gas heater installed and when we turned it on, it made a series of clanging, clicking, banging, ticking and all sorts of weird metal sound all night long as it was heated up and cooled down all night long. Terrible two night sleeps. Our snow boarding trip was just a tired and exhausted one beause of the distubed sleeps.

We were surprised at how big our room was! Kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans, silverware - you name it - plus a sizable dining table. There were only two of us, but the futon couch and futon chair in the living room could have slept three more! We were treated extremely well. It’s definitely a charming mountain lodge and NOT a two-star motel. I look forward to staying there again next year.

Stayed here for three nights on the recommendation of a very good friend and it was perfect! It was central to all the locations that we were going to visit. Clean and plenty of room with a kitchen complete with dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans! All we needed to bring was food. Will definitely be coming back. Rose was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying here!
