The property has a lovely restaurant and bar and great location.I booked this place because I knew I had to work during my ski trip so I thought they would have Internet access in the rooms. Our room and our friends room had no internet access and no phone service and was out of cellphone range. The only way for us to access the Internet was to walk to the lobby or restaurant to use the Internet.I brought it up to the front desk they said they would call maintenance, but that didn't solve it, then I wrote to them and they said the location creates a difficult environment to keep strong wifi and committed to fixing it, but never did. They bring water, sewer, and electricity so you would think they could also bring an Internet cable. They offered me a $100 credit per night that the Internet and phone was not working, but then didn't apply it at checkout. When I wrote to them they only gave it to me for two of the three nights, but I was there three nights and did not have Internet or phone service any of those nights.I also asked them for a roll away or a cot, and they said they don't have those, although they were helpful and offered some extra pillows and blankets.I was disappointed because we spent more to stay there and expected the amenities to work. And it was quite a pain to find a work around. The rooms were fine, although you can see from the pictures they are in disrepair; broken door to the bathroom and water stains on the walls/ceiling.Seems like they just need a little investment and maintenance in the property to bring it to it's fullest potential.

Christy at the front desk was unprofessional. She was on her phone a lot and was condescending in how she spoke to us. She seems to hate her job. I also overheard her making fun of a co-workers medical condition. Awful miserable person. Also they have a bunch of dumb rules at this resort. Owner doesn't seem to care or be willing to help. Cabins are outdated - how many vacations does the owner take instead of updating stuff? Sell this place to someone who cares.Rooms: Rooms are outdated!

Miguel (masseuse) was top notch, seriously. All 3 girlfriends had him and we all said our massages were one of the best we've had, ever. For a few 40-year-olds that love massages, that's saying something.I had called the hotel beforehand to discuss our reservation and had a wonderful conversation with the hotel manager who set us up with a great cabin.Overall, service was great. The cabin itself was cute, but a little outdated. There was a grill, but no briquettes. A glass cutting board (eek). We were required to wash all our dishes (no dishwasher) and needed to take all our sheets off the bed and place all linens outside upon checkout, or else we would be charged an extra fee.If we were to come down to the area again, we would definitely see if Miguel was still working at the spa, but may spend some time comparing accommodation options, although we probably would not find another place with a full kitchen for what we paid.

Went for the burgers, stayed for the view. Stopped in to have lunch and had a great burger, the kids cobbled down some kids menu chicken strips and we topped it off with a great apple thingy desert. Nice and clean place, staff is absolutely great, ABSOLUTELY amazing views of Carson Peak and the surrounding mountains; I would definitely come back!

This review is specifically for the restaurant.Location: BeautifulService: A little slow on a Saturday night when restaurant was a little more than half full. Waiters and servers were very nice though.Food: Burgers and fries were both great in taste and filling. However, our order got mixed up in terms of the cheese and how we wanted our patty to be grilled.Had to call the restaurant the next day as I left something there by accident. They had the item, but the general manager was rude to me on the phone and hung up on me which is why I deducted a star. Looks like there were other reviews like that too.

The Double Eagle Resort is a dream. The pool, the beautiful, large, clean hottub with glass ceiling and massive windows. Not to mention the quaint, mine inspired decorations that just make it all perfect. The spa is incredible. I had a perfect massage and pampered myself in the locker room with all the amenities. It was such a perfect place to stay and couldn’t recommend it enough. Not to mention the delicious restaurant right there on the property. It was everything you could hope for in a stay.

My only concern was - when can we go back? Double Eagle absolutely takes your breath away. We spent most of time on the grounds and not at June lake, as everything was over the top and just more than we even expected. Only a few minutes drive to the lake(s) if needed. Magical memories with my mom and daughter and her bff. Aaron, Brady, Chris and Rachel made this place even that much better. If you're confused on the 3 star ratings? Some clarification, this place is not meant for those people. Yes you may need a second or even third choice on the menu when dining, as you are in the mountains, but they had ample food choices....very remote BUT if you know anything about being in the mountains like this, then you know what they have here is absolutely over the top amazing. You are in the middle of nowhere with 5 star amenities. Yes you need to be patient and the rewards you get, is priceless here.

Wonderful spa set in the beautiful Sierra Mountains! They have a full gym with plenty of cardio/weight machines, free weights, and a cycling room. The dressing rooms have their own hot tubs and sauna rooms! My favorite part was the indoor coed pool and hot tub where you get a great view of an impressive waterfall. The spa area even has a snack and drink mini bar! I will definitely be back for another relaxing day in a gorgeous place.Nearby activities: Silver lake and gull lake are just minutes away by car! Both lakes have a marina and store. You can also access nearby trails including reverse peak, gull lake loop, and Yost (all found on Alltrails app).

It was an insane visit but ultimately led me to absolutely adore this spot. You can tell it's been in better financial times in the past, maybe just trying to endure things post COVID with short staffing and maybe us being there in the off season!?!First, it felt like it was 100% out of a Twin Peaks episode -- just needed some damn fine coffee and pie at a local diner to make the narrative complete.Pros: lodge stylings, a wonderful building with indoor swimming pool, hot tub, spa, etc. with funky old mining train decor and skylights that is clearly also the fitness center for locals, cozy bar space, and tucked in the trees.Downsides that actually turned out to be upsides because they were just too good to be true: took us nearly three hours to get a key as their system went down and no one knew how to use the manual keys (I literally watched the manager dive over a balcony railing trying to get into a room through a sliding door and my partner who is in IT stepped behind the desk to try and troubleshoot), the bar tender had absolutely no idea how to make any drinks or pour draft beers but was so earnest and eager to learn (we had a hilarious time teaching him how to make simple 1-1-1 cocktails like a Negroni), retiree aged folks were fly fishing in a tiny pond on the property that looked like the kiddie pool version for training newbies, a giant hole near the pond turned out to be a water issue that the bartender told us the manager dug himself in his sport coat a few days ago (this was the bartender's way of conveying the manager's can do attitude which we came to be absolutely charmed by in the end).Writing all of the above doesn't really capture how fun and funny our stay was. I'd choose it again over a chain hotel without a doubt just to get the charm and hopefully some more hilarious stories/ memories. I hope it stays open forever and ever.

it's a nice location and still an ok place but it needs some serious upgrading. the guest house is totally outdated and needs work. our friend is in a cabin and it's also showing it's age and lack of attention. there's a list of things that need repair. the pond is nothing but moss and weeds. the resort has seen better days but there's not a whole lot of options in June Lake.

The manager greeted us very friendly, that was a really warm welcome. The rooms, the main reception and the place overall are beautifully decorated. However, strange vibes from the employees at the bar.The water of the jacuzzi in the spa was actually quite gross, lots of insects and hair swimming around. The food in the restaurant is mediocre. The service in the restaurant is hit or miss.

The place is wonderful. Its clean, and has a trout pond. Great pool and spa. All the staff was polite and friendly. Location is fantastic. We didnt like a few things thats easy to fix. I was given wifi password at front desk, wifi wasnt working. The bathroom door was an accordian door that was partially broken making showering and changing unprivate. There is a creek that goes through and around the Double Eagle hotel. Me and my son were following it till he rripped and fell over something. It turned out to be an 8 foot long piece of old but super sharp barbwire. I unhooked him and put it further into the forest away from creek.

My favorite place to stay in the Mammoth/ June Lake area. The Resort sits at the base of 3 tall Mountain Peaks which create a beautiful and scenic back drop. Best amenities I have experienced in the area. Full Restaurant, Gym, Steam Room, Spa, and even a private pond/lake. Also, big shout out to the Manager Steven! A true hospitality professional who anticipated and accommodated every need we had during our trip. Thank you Double Eagle for providing an incredible High Sierra's experience!

I adore the Double Eagle. When I lived in June, I’d spend hours per day here. The monthly membership is more than a gym, but so worth the yoga classes, fitness facility, pool, incredible locker rooms with the sauna and tub, and mountain views. The products in the showers (which are also for sale) are so luxurious! If you’re passing through and looking to soak or workout with a good meal, a day pass can be bought. I love when I’m in the area, I never miss a chance to go to the Eagle.

Fabulous stay in this gem tucked away in June Lake. We enjoyed our time over Christmas there in a pet-friendly cabin. You have access to the pool, spa, jacuzzi, fitness center, as well as the on-site restaurant. Folks that work there are awesome, especially Steven. Our cabin was comfortable, clean, and cozy, and we enjoyed watching the snow fall outside, while our wood burning stove kicked off the heat. We can't say enough good things about this place!

We went to Double Eagle Creekside Spa. It was lovely. We wanted to book massages but it was after 6 on a Sunday and massage was not available. Pool and fitness club were still open til 9 so we stayed. Pool and co ed whirlpool are inside with incredible views. So pretty. Pool is also great for swimming laps and designed well. Outside deck and views of mountain and pond relaxing, charming and beautiful. We did not stay at resort. Only visited the spa, pool and whirlpool, and restaurant on property. Restaurant also had large picture windows with nice views. Service was slow and food good but nothing special. Atmosphere rustic and pleasant. Property is really charming to walk around.

Celebrated our 20th anniversary with 3 nights here. The spa / massage was very nice, especially after the grueling but incredible hike to Fern Lake the day before. Centrally located on the loop with proximity to great fishing, scenery, and to the towns restaurants and coffee shop! I can't wait to share this place with the whole family. Loved it!

First time there food was awesome. Our last trip out we decided to repeat the visit. As we entered the OPEN restaurant we were told they actually were not open although the hours of operation said otherwise. I proceeded to ask when would they be open the girl at the counter replied "I don't know, whenever they are ready". I returned to my truck with my daughter only to watch 2 people enter and not come back out. We sat and watched for over 10 minutes and decided to go elsewhere as clearly there was something we missed. Yes the 2 patrons that entered were white and they were clearly not employed there. Sad as I thought it would be a great place to host a wedding.

What a gem! The Double Eagle is a charming and rustic resort nestled at the base of the majestic mountains of June Lake. It's a 3 minute drive to the ski basin. The cabins are the perfect, with bedrooms, kitchen and fireplace. The pool, hot tub and restaurant all deliver. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. 👍🏻

The hospitality, the cleanliness, the staff, the amenities, etc., we're all amazing. I had a wonderful stay and relaxing weekend thanks to the hard working people at the Double Eagle Resort and Spa. Our rooms were spacious, extremely comfortable, fashionable, and very well kept. The gym had a variety of options, and a great view to increase/motivate your gains. The pool was heated, and the spa absolutely perfect. All that, and so much more left to try; massages, barber shop, fishing pond, etc. I could not have asked for a better stay, and more welcoming experience!

Didn't have 1/2 the food that was on the menu. They have beautiful views / booths that were open but a young kid tried to seat us in a corner with no view. When I asked for a better booth he said "they needed to be wiped down ". They had plenty of staff that were BS'ing when we came in. It's a VERY nice place, just needs better management.

This resort is amazing! I had asked for an early check-in and it was arranged. The lady at the reception desk was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Talk about making a first impression! Our cabin was great. Clean, organized and so cute! The view while sitting on the deck was perfect. We ate take-out from the restaurant and it was delicious. It’s a challenge to run a kitchen/restaurant at times like this and though short-handed, they did an amazing job. Already planning a return trip this winter! I would highly recommend!

Such a beautiful place. The staff was great. The rooms were super clean and they had a bath with jets and a big walk in shower. The beds a very comfortable and loved having a gas fire place in our room. It was very romantic up there, took my boyfriend for his Birthday. Also definitely check out the spa, they offer so many services and it was super relaxing. We will definitely be returning soon. I fell in love with June Lake as a child, and now this is where I will also go when staying at June Lake.
