The market was really nice and some things were not that expensive. They sell Julian apple cider here and I had to buy some. The cider was absolutely amazing I need to come back and get more. The staff of the market are super friendly and they'll hell you find whatever you need. The town outside is very beautiful!

Service is horrendous. Went to the market to purchase some items for the cabin. At the register, my mom decided to go in front of us and get lotto tickets. The cashier was visibly nervous and was taking a little longer getting the tickets, but he was nice. My mom left after paying and another employee came over and started talking bad about my mom about how she was taking long to pick her tickets and how she doesn't have time or is in the mood for people like that take forever. I told the employee that she was disrespectful and rude. The lady then proceeded to say she shouldn't be disrespectful and I told her she shouldn't be talking like that about my mom or clients in general. Its not a good look or good customer service. She responeded with "omg... I don't have time for this!" and proceeded to run off. I should've realized the type of person she was when I heard her bad mouthing a coworker named Nate for going home early.

We bought a pie here because of the lines at some of the local places, staff assured us that their pies were baked at the store and as good as the local pies. I have to say, it was the worst pie I've ever eaten, the filling tasted like it came out of a can, the pie crust was uncooked goo and the topping was so sweet I could not eat it. I hate to leave such a negative review, but in order to make a pie that bad you have to try, so please beware. Otherwise, it seems the store tries to do a good job being a small town Market-Deli.

Worst experience I’ve had in a long time me my fiancé we used to go there all the time for corn dogs and they were really good. I was helping a neighbor out who decided to treat me to a sandwich so I decided to wait and eat my sandwich. till I got home to share it with my fiancé I got a ham and cheese, mustard and mayonnaise. And all four sandwiches were all the same except for mine cheese, mustard mayonnaise, and it looks like salad lettuce on it all chopped up, never again no ham on mine what can I say never say never went there again because that friend said she would buy me a sandwich the bread roll. That was dry nothing special about the ham or cheese and the price was outrageous $11 out the door I know Julian is a tourist trap and prices shouldn’t be like a Ramona, and Poway, or even El Centro but for $11 you expect the sandwich to be good

Im with a nonprofit organization that assists homeless veterans and women and children in at-risk situations. After receiving approval from the Store manager, we've visited Julian Market and deli on 2 occasions in the past 2 years doing our outreach and fundraising outside with no issue and loved getting to know the staff and community of Julian. SUCH a beautiful town!However, since our last visit, something has gone terribly wrong with the staff.I called to book another time for us to come out and briefly spoke to the Store manager Leah only to be unknowingly (she didn't tell me) passed to another associate by the name of Keith who began yelling, yes yelling, at me on the phone demanding me tell them which company I'm from (which I had already done with Leah) and telling me Im wasting their time and a bunch of other belligerent and rude nonsense before I finally said "I apologize for the confusion. Have a blessed day" and then I hung up. This call lasted not even a full 2 minutes.I am not writing this review to defame anyone or even to get anyone to not go to this business.While I was not offended by this unfortunate situation (because no one has that power), I was pretty shocked because my other times in dealing with this business have been pleasant.I am highly concerned about the character of those employed and overall atmosphere of this establishment. As a business owner myself, I would never allow an employee of mine to treat anyone who comes in or calls as they treated this call today. And as the Store manager, a professional, friendly and approachable attitude should be your #1 goal for patrons.A man yelling at a woman in an abusive manner in any way is concerning.I pray this review opens the eyes of Julian Market and Deli and that the Lord softens their hearts. I will also be praying for the healing for the pain they must be in to treat others in such a manner. Like the saying goes, "hurt people, hurt people".Blessings to all.

Went there yesterday, and the staff & Owner were super cool and friendly. The owner was so helpful with my purchase, and I felt like I was a regular there even though it was my first time! The lady at the deli counter was super nice and their sausages are fantastic, not to mention the pies, of course! Get some Pastrami & hard Salami while you're there, and the black German bread, you've got a nice sandwich without tourist prices.

Bought a whole pie here today because the other places were closed or ran out. Expensive but mostly just syrup. Wish I checked the reviews first. My first review on google ever...what else could I do? Too far to drive back and ask for a refund. Very friendly staff said it was baked there today, but bottom line the pie was really bad.

I spent $50 on 3 pies. I drove 3 hours to get there and brought home the worst pies I've ever had. They were nothing but brown sugar topping and gel filling! I couldn't find 1 berry. No joke. It was disgusting! I guess that's what you get for buying a pie at a deli.

Convenient market. We are camping nearby and forgot a few items so we stopped in to pick up some things.they had exactly what we needed including a towel and flip flops (for shower). Older lady whom I am not sure was the owner or not was very friendly and had some good small talk with her about the local area.

I remember coming here as a child and getting great sandwiches. In 2019, I should have trusted my instincts. I came in for lunch after picking apples due to no wait. Every other restaurant in the area ranged from 35-90 minute waits. I left with bland macaroni salad, quite boring sandwiches with old, stiff bread, and a mouthful of someone's hair. That's when I realized, nobody in the deli was wearing hair nets, nor gloves. Isn't that a law in California?

I live in town. I need a BBQ Lighter, they had one, I got for almost $7.00! And it broke after 3 uses. The prices here SUCK DO NOT COME HERE. The Isles are small and cramped. The employees were RUDE. They have over pried everything to extreme.

They have a great selection of canned goods and warm clothing in the upper part of the store if you find yourself cold. Prices are reasonable and service is great.
