Staying at this hotel was truly magical! The eucalyptus forest and the scent of the ocean created an unforgettable atmosphere, while the view of the endless ocean was simply mesmerizing. The bar impressed with a variety of flavors, and the food was a true culinary journey. I can't help but mention the attentive staff and comfortable rooms. I hope to return here again and savor this amazing experience!

Had a one night stay at Ocean Cove Lodge & it was excellent! Room was warm, with a fireplace & radiator. Clean (thanks to the housekeeper, Claudia). Anna at the front desk waited to welcome us, even though we arrived quite late (10 pm ish). And as a bonus, there were cute little cats everywhere! We will miss Lennie forever (until next time.)

What a little gem. Rooms were super nice for an older place, actually some of the nicest hotel rooms I have been in (although they aren't modern luxury resort style rooms). The cleanness was perfect, the bathroom is small but shower is AMAZING, and the room smelt amazing, almost like fresh laundry. 10/10 will book again if ever in this part of the world.

Gorgeous location with spectacular views of the ocean. Room was large very clean and had everything we needed including fridge and microwave. Restaurant was convenient with good food. Would recommend their chowder and bay shrimp louie salad. Owner is very friendly and so is his cat Lenny. Simple continental breakfast included. Would stay here again.

Such a great motel with a beautiful view. Great price. We were greeted by Odessa who went out of her way to get us a room for the night. Restaurant was closed by the time we arrived but she opened up the pool hall for my 11 year old son to hang out for a short while before bed which he loved!! Very personable and friendly. Delicious muffins and snacks in the morning. I think it was the owner we spoke with upon checking out and he was very personable and conversational. There were Orcas in the Bay early that morning!Rooms: Room was great with a separate bedroom.

I've been going to this place since I was about 14 My wife and I used to like to stay there for anniversaries they have two rooms with hot tubs outside on the balcony which overlooks the ocean. It's changed hands a few times over the years. The rooms aren't the greatest but they're good rooms they're clean. I haven't eaten at the restaurant for a while but my son says it's really good He's been staying up there working for the last month or so. You're also right around stump Beach which is North a couple miles which is a great place to go hiking you can also camp at Ocean cove across the street. There's also a little general store just about a quarter mile south of the Lodge.Nearby activities: Beaches are close by

The room was great and very cozy. The shower was very roomy and the fireplace was a nice touch. However the mattress wasn't my style, and the location was very difficult to drive to. But overall I enjoyed my stay here! Wouldn't definitely recommend this place #adventuresofbulbasaurFood & drinks: There is an awesome restaurant and bar on site

This place is one of those hidden treasures, the property was in an amazing location, our room was very nice, and decorated amazingly, the beds were super comfortable, and the bathroom was a very nice tile shower. The front desk was very helpful, they go out of their way to make sure you are happy and have a comfortable stay. They also have a restaurant/bar on site that has great food, clam chowder was top notch.

This place really deserves 4.5 stars. The rooms are clean, even if some of the parts are a little dated -- the bathroom tile and wooden towel racks and tp dispenser gave me some serious 70s nostalgia vibes. The (gas powered) wood stove for heat was really excellent - makes the room really charming. The staff was very kind and helpful. The bar and grill is also excellent!! Bread bowl clam chowder, and the fish and chips are amazing!

Late summer visit. Had no reservations and we were dead tired. It was out of the fog we spotted this place and pulled in. Had a great meal then sat out front and enjoyed the view the fog had cleared. The rooms are decorated kinda quirky and very clean. Really a different experience from a Hotel 8.Next morning went to office to get coffee and met the owner. We sat out on the deck and had coffee and talked for about 1 hour. What a story he has. If its the same owner I suggest a visit with him. Turned out to be a memorable visit.

We had an amazing stay here! Owner Tim and staff are super friendly. Economy room 119$ a night. Be warned, room is very small. Ideal for a couples romantic weekend getaway. Double bed, no fridge or microwave (no problem for us). Meticulously maintained grounds. We are super appreciative to be able to stay over here for that price. Food was excellent both times ..hot and tasty fish and chips. Allowed me to add grilled chicken to garden salad no problem. We will be back for sure! Sunsets were priceless.

Nice Staff, food OK, but over priced, and the room #15 we had was the smallest we have ever had in the world. Yes, smaller than even Tokyo or Israel. You could not turn around in the shower, and I am not fat. The hot water went hot and cold all the time. The entire place has not been updated since 1950. The owner must not want to spend any money on this place. You get a tiny box, and toilet. $119 + fees, $143. Not worth it!

This place had everything we needed for our February trip to salt point park. It’s in a great location, has tv, wifi, good heat, and Tim was super friendly and helpful. There’s a pool table and a nice place to eat next door. Killer view from the front play area.

Amazing place to stay. Went to school with the owners son I found out while talking to him. Really nice gentleman that is well traveled with some extraordinary stories about life. The staff there were really cool and polite, felt like talking with people you have known all your life in a really laid-back environment. Plus the view there was extraordinary. Aside from us watching our tent on the campground across the street whip in the wind like a possessed contortionist hit with holy water during an exorcism 😆.

We stopped by for dinner on our way down the 1 and everyone was super nice. The food was really good. We were exhausted from driving 8 hours so we decided to stay for the night. The room was super cute and well put together! The bed was very comfortable. The owner Tim has a nice little set up for guests in the lobby and he is really cool. You need to check them out!

A very cozy spot to stop for a bite on your way up or down the coast! The menu is a bit minimal, I am guessing Covid is causing the reduction in offerings. I ordered the fish and chips, and was very pleased with the quality and taste of the cod. My husband ordered a cheese burger, he said it was very tasty. It looks like the beautiful wooden bar area is a great place to sit and enjoy the sea from the view indoor. There was outdoor seating as well, but we chose the warmer inside seats. I hope they get chance to get back to their previous menu soon. Several locals have shared how yummy and extensive it had been.

My wife and I have been guests at Ocean Cove Lodge 3-4 times a year for the last 3 years. We were first brought there by a high school friend who’s been staying there across three owners since 1985 and his assessment is that Tim, the current innkeeper and his staff are the best team ever to run it in all those years. The ocean view is stunning from just about anywhere on the grounds! The staff are attentive, courteous and friendly and all seem like a family. The lodge is a classic American motor lodge in the Route 66 tradition with rooms that are modernized where it counts while retaining the vintage era-appropriate charm of the original construction and design. The food in the bar & grill is excellent, featuring a variety of items from the Americana and Latin American traditions. Their fish and chips is my favorite and I’ve had that dish up and down the Eastern seaboard! The amenities are excellent as well: a dog run/park, hot tub, playground, etc. They also feature great live entertainment. I’ve seen a host of musical groups (solo, duo, trio performers) in the restaurant or on the deck (with that stunning ocean view and gentle roar), depending on time of year.Time stops when we’re there and the cares of daily life disappear – it is our happy place!

We had a one night stay on our way to San Francisco and it was a nice, reasonably priced room for me, my wife and two kids (8 and 10). It is across the street from the cliff-side ocean and has lovely views. There is a resteraunt right there open 12-8pm. We had dinner there and it was nice though only a cook and one other person doing all of the waiting. There is an RV camp across the street to the left but it was not intrusive at all. The rooms are old and worn but clean and updated enough to provide TV, Wi-Fi, refrigerator, heater. The beds and pillows are old as well but for one night it was fine. Our kids enjoyed walking around the grounds. There was coffee and danish at the front desk/tiny gift shop in the morning. Grounds we’re quiet after 8PM and room was well insulated from any noise from other rooms.

The food is okay. What gives this place a higher rating is the great view. We had a po-boy with fries and a pasta. The fries were surprisingly good, and the sandwich was good. The pasta is overpriced and just ok. The service was a little slow, but they only had 2 servers around early dinner time on a Saturday. The views on the other hand were great. We had a great view of the ocean outside and saw many whales jumping and spraying water in the distance. Parking was readily available also.

Really cute, warm, homey little place that I happened to stumble upon as I made my way down Hwy 1. Friendly folks, reasonable prices. Make a reservation if you want a hot tub. I didn't, and got their last little room, but it was enough for a hot shower and a comfy bed to sleep in, which was all I needed. Muffins and fruit and coffee for breakfast, too. Would come back (and reserve a hot tub room!). Would recommend.

Typical deep fried fare with booze if you want it. Service was not very good, but it was Super Bowl Sunday so maybe she was distracted. It was almost empty though, so not sure why we needed a buzzing coaster to notify us when our shrimp and chips were ready. They tasted like boxed breaded shrimp dipped in Budweiser.

What a gem. The view here is wonderful from the bar/dining room! The fish and chips were awesome. We were here the last week of Jan. We could just imagine how hoping this place is in summer or on a warm weekend. There was ample parking, a full bar, and a really big slide and green area/ lawn. The music choice was good and staff friendly. It was super slow and the only thing that was a disappointment was that instead of spending the down time being productive- they kinda sat around bored. Their time could of been well spent washing down the dirty walls, cleaning the dirty side windows or dusting the very dusty fixtures, trinkets and collectibles. But, with a little TLC and effort, we would of given a 5.
