What a great place! I strongly recommend making the trip if you're anywhere near here there's just so much to do and so much to see it's a truly unbelievable area we will definitely be back and next time we're going to bring a picnic and make a day of it! I did notice there was no TP in the restroom. Thankfully, I didn't need any.Playground: In a way, the whole area is a playground. I did not see an actual kid playground.Restrooms: One looks like it's been out of order for quite a while. The other one was not too bad, but it was out of toilet paperDog-friendliness: I don't think dogs are allowedPicnic area: lots of places to have Picnics

It was so pretty out there and foggy. The temperature was just perfect. A lot of people stop there to admire the beauty of the place, even the firefighters stop there just to admire mother nature. The drive there was amazing and there are a lot of little towns. So if you ever bore just take a drive this place. There are no bathrooms nearby or there. Also, be very careful don't get close to the edge because the ground is kind of loose. Other than that, enjoy it!Restrooms: No bathroomsDog-friendliness: Yes, it is pet friendly.Picnic area: You can make your own picnic are there if you use your imagination. Just take your garbage with you when you are done.

If you’re a Goonies fan don’t miss this hidden gem.The end scene of Goonies with the pirate ship was filmed here.Do not swim here, the rip tides are very strong and dangerous. No lifeguards anywhere to be seen.Picnic area: Unbelievable views.

This is a lovely beach in the Sonoma Coast State Park. Make sure you find the place to pay for state parks but if you've already bought a pass at another state park, then you're good to go. Would definitely drive onto the parking lot at the Rock. The final strip to arrive at the parking is one lane so would drive slowly at the end. The beach is pretty and the sand is hot when it is sunny. The water is lovely although strong waves at times. The other side is rocky but again beautiful. Definitely recommend.

As with other coastal parks, it's beautiful in clear weather. The rock was closed for climbing, but we still enjoyed the walks and the views. The beach was not overcrowded at all, but it was windy and on the cool side, as always.Beautiful place to spend your morning on a clear day - no entry fee.

I have been coming to this park since I was a child. I love that it has two versions of it. Both completely different from the each other. You can watch sea lions and where Jenner meets the sea. Or walk the other side, where the goonies was filmed a portion of it, which overlooks goats rock or a hole in the rock I don’t know what that one is called! Just watch your tides, if you come on a high tide there is not much of a beach on the one that you can take your dogs to which is the opposite of where the wild life is. Love this beach, one of my favorites.Restrooms: Pit in the hole cement typeDog-friendliness: One side is dog, friendly, the other side, no dogs allowed, one side, where the dogs are you can swim the other one no swimming because of rip currents.

Right now, in the area of this beach, the ocean is good only to look at. It is too dangerous to swim in it. Rip currents and rogue waves are present. For anyone who is not convinced about the dangers, decided to swim and caught in a rip currents, to save yourself don't swim straight back to the beach. Instead, swim parallel to the beach and then swim back at an angle. Otherwise, you will exhaust yourself. Finally, this is a nice place to take pictures especially the beautiful rock formations in the ocean. Picnic facilities and restrooms are available. Opened till Sunset.

One of my favorite beaches to visit, worth the short drive north from Bodega Bay. Views from both sides of the parking (on a jutted out peninsula). There are always deals swimming around here. Beaches are a bit rocky, but fun place to look at pebbles, watch the birds, listen to the ocean, and smell the salty waves. Beware of those waves though, this isn't a great place to swim. This trip there was dead seal on the beach. So many people walking by didn't seem to notice. So here are some pictures to explore. Did this deal die of natural causes and get torn up rolling along the shoreline? Beautiful beach to ponder the circle of life.

A truly magical place. If you go to the northern beach where the Russian river meets the ocean there are seals and sea lions that lay on the beach opposite the south side of the river. People make little son huts out of driftwood. The ocean has terrible rip currents so you can’t go in the water. However, you can see all sorts of wildlife. When I was there with my children I saw dolphins jumping out of the water. The rocks sticking out of the water makes spectacular crashes when the waves hit them. It is a wonderful place to have a nice picnic and you can dip your feet in the water on the river side of the beach peninsula

Incredible vistas from rocky cliffs and pebble beaches. Be careful of surf and head warnings. Keep your eyes peeled on grassy hillsides for deer or small elk several with huge racks. Good accessibility to all areas by car for those with mobility issues.

Great for hiking, terrible for swimming; and most relevantly, great for napping. I wish I can comment on the beauty and the serenity of the coastline. I can only attest to the powerful sleep that I got while the circean waves pummeled into the rocks, and the abrupt moment of panic as the tide encroached in on my spontaneously appointed sand futon. I came on a weekday evening, and parking was fine, but I would imagine that it gets busy on the weekends.

What a beautiful place. I went on a nice long motorcycle ride up the coast. Our final destination was here. Pulling up on the look out was an amazing view. Pulling down to the marking lot is a few tight turns for cars and then goes down to a 1 lane gravel road then into a gravel parking lot.

Nice place except for all the warning signs of danger everywhere you look. Don't climb the goat rock as this for goats only or maybe the rocks are shifty and can slip out from under you. Don't go in the water as the sneaker waves will get you. Also watch out for cats, big ones.

Amazing coastline! Exciting park! Adventurous one-lane road down to the sandy jetty and to a huge rock isthmus! Fantastic views of crashing waves, a giant rock with an ocean portal, and grassy slopes falling off into cliffside beaches. Plenty of sea life above and below. And a river view to boot!

The scenery is gorgeous! You get a good view of the arched rock off the shoreline. Plenty of parking and a rest room, one side of the lot is a dog friendly beach, we saw lots of four-legged friends having fun :) however this is named one of California's most dangerous beaches, not a good beach for swimming as the current and waves can sweep you away easily but walking the shoreline with your feet in the water is perfect. We spent hours here playing around and even saw a handful of sea lions playing in the waves. As always, remember to clean up after yourselves to keep the beach trash free! Garbages are located in the parking lot.

Goat Rock beach is on the south side of the Russian River as it enters the Pacific. Beautiful views in every direction. Beach is reached by a small and narrow road. It's not the busiest beach, and the water looks dangerous in places. Some people were hang gliding. Others were sitting peacefully on the beach. Not many swimmers.

Follow the road to the bottom of the hill and find this magical cove with dogs allowed to the left beach on leash, and no dogs allowed on the right side beach. This area is separated by a parking lot and bathrooms are on site. Enjoy a picnic or just come relax and watch the sea life. One more suggestion...bring a bag and pick up trash to help keep this area beautiful.

Always a favorite. I have been here many times since I was school aged. Its big, lots of parking, and very little hassle from rangers. It is a state park so you have to expect to be watched closely however they are really nice people just doing their job to keep everyone safe and in line. Facilities are nice, but could use a nice scrubbing of offensive graffiti. But what I love most of all are the awestricken impressive views of the pacific right in front of your eyes. Its a super bonus that part of the goonies was filmed here!

This beach has always been an enjoyable place to relax and spend the day on the coast! My wife, and newborn daughter, and I were able to find a great spot to make our own for the day, place our gear, and enjoy our meals while existing by the beach for many hours! We still continue coming here for years to come! Be aware though, the seagulls and the flies can be quite intrusive!

I love visiting Goat Rock. I'm always amazed at the beauty of the area. Dogs are allowed on the south side, but not on the side where the Russian River empties into the ocean because Sea Lions and their pups frequent the area.

We had a great time at this beach. Although there is no swimming allowed, that was not an issue for us as the beach was extremely foggy each time we went. We also got to see a large number of seals and dolphins while we were there!
