We stayed here for a short getaway with another couple for her birthday, in two separate rooms. Initially, I was very happy that it was possible to book just a Saturday night room rather than being required to stay both Friday and Saturday nights. Maybe that's possible only some weekends of the year, but it made the trip feasible for us.Both rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. The resort has been at this location for quite some time, obviously. However, the ownership/management has kept up with maintenance, which puts this place head and shoulders above much vacation lodging on the coast north of SF. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and efficient both at checkin and checkout. The location is 10 minutes away from Point Reyes Station, and a few minutes away from Inverness Park Market. It's sleepy and off by itself, but if you're coming to this location, you're not doing it for the nightlife and for hustle and bustle; you want to relax. You can do that here.

We enjoyed our stay in this very quiet and excellently located hotel. The property is in need of updates which appear to be underway. The pool is being renovated and they are preparing to pour a concrete deck. Our room was dated but so full of potential. The bathroom and main room were in good shape but the kitchenette is decades out of date, though still functional. It felt clean and safe. Staff were very helpful.

Beautiful views and excellent location. Nice to walk around at sunset along the paved paths out to the water. The rooms are nice, however could use some basic maintenance, doors that stick and rotting wood on balconies. If you are sensitive to night sounds, bring ear plugs as the walls are pretty thin and we could easily hear TVs next door. This was our second time staying here and the experience was similar to the first time. I hope they find a restauranteur soon because the location is perfect for staying onsite for meals and relaxation.

Wonderful little inn! I stayed in one of the poolside bungalows with my wife and mother-in-law in March and we were all very happy with our stay. The room was clean, appliances worked well, beds were comfy. We especially loved the fireplace and the private patio area. We arrived after check in and the staff was still able to get us our keys quickly and let us in. The price was fantastic as well. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

nice place-exceeded expectations. Clean super comfortable rooms, great proximity to whatever you want to do, nice view of the bay. Friendly staff too willing to offer suggestions on what to see and do. First time to the Pt Reyes area and staying here helped make the visit perfect

We had a Bay View room and found it to be lovely! Located on the West side of Tomales Bay on the Point Reyes peninsula a National park with tons of hiking and biking trails. This is the quiet side of the bay. Kayaks are available to rent. We enjoyed listening to the gentle lapping of small waves outside our open door. Lovely sunrise view across the bay. We'd love to go back!

Location location location, the view is fabulous from rm#32. The bed needs replacement, the toilet runs constantly, little teeny tiny soaps in the bathroom.... This could be a truly memorable spot with just some attention to detail.Nearby activities: Excellent birding, great kayaking,Walkability: Lots of beaches nearby

Thanks really enjoyed my two night stay here. The rooms were cute and clean with a great view. The staff were absolutely awesome- so nice! My one suggestion for improvement would be to provide more seating by the pool and beach area for guests.

My husband and I came to Tomales Bay for a birthday weekend getaway and it was the best experience! It felt like we had the place to ourselves. The room we booked (tombahia) was perfect! Felt like our own little cottage. Waking up at 6 am and walking to the boat pier was spectacular with the gorgeous view of the bay. The sites to visit around the area and food was awesome! The customer service at the check in great! We will definitely be back again!

While staying at the hotel, we did not have hot water for two days and our toilet flooded the entire bathroom. We had maintenance crews in and out of our room throughout the stay. While I understand that sometimes things happen, the way that management handled our experience was incredibly unprofessional. The actual hotel staff was incredibly sincere and helpful - but also noted that plumbing issues at the resort are frequent. I was told to call the management team on the weekday following our weekend stay. It took them four days to "investigate" the cause and when I finally received a call back the reparations were laughable and the manager, Jeff, was defensive and essentially dismissed that there was any issue at all.I recommend searching amongst the many other available accommodations in the area to support more honest businesses.

We liked our one night stay at the Tomales Bay Resort. Don't except anything fancy, but it is right on the bay and very quiet. The room (#12) was on the older side, but we felt it was spacious, and it had a nice little outdoor space with some adirondack chairs to enjoy the afternoon sun. It came with a little fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. The marina is looking on the run down side, with some boats that definitely need some love. It's an unpretentious place to stay in a fantastic location. Their restaurant is currently closed but apparently will be re-opening this summer. There is a kayak outfitters next door to rent one to explore the bay.

Booked through the Resort's website, only to get a call 3 months later saying the rate I booked at wasn't valid and that I had to pay 70% more. Wasn't even offered a discount or anything. Pretty poor customer service. They also treated me like I did something wrong, when all I did was book the room directly through their site.EDIT: As can be seen from many recent reviews and responses from ownership, the owner likes to have excuses and blame the age of the buildings or inanimate objects(computers) for mistakes that were made by the people in charge. I would happily pay for other establishments in the area, or further up the beautiful California coast.

Booked a room here for my husbands birthday and we were treated very well! First contact on phone was with Ryan, a week before our stay. He was very nice and full of information to share. He really helped me feel like I made the right decision to stay there. Upon arriving the resort was very pretty picturesque views of the bay and Ryan was at the reception desk. Here was again very friendly and super helpful suggesting hikes and places to eat. I mentioned to him that it was my husbands birthday when I made the reservation a week ago.and he made a point to wish him a happy birthday. After arriving to the room we found a birthday card and we were upgraded to a suite and were gifted a voucher for half off our stay next time. The room was clean, cozy and very nice with a beautiful view of the bay. Our stay was fabulous and we would recommend this resort 150 percent thank you Ryan!!!

I’ve been staying here since Before it was Tomales Bay Resort. It’s a great place, the rooms are pretty nice, not fancy, but very good. I slept great!Very clean; bathrooms have been redone in recent years.Continental breakfast at Fogs Kitchen was actually quite nice - lots of fresh fruit, breads, muffins, coffee and juice. The location and the views of Tomales Bay are well worth the visit.

We were stuck in mid of no where on way from point Reyes with no network. Some passer by s helped us to reach the nearest town where we could get connectivity and call for help. Manager Kevin and staff of Tomales Bay Resort & Marina was extremely kind and helped us by providing a conference room, wifi, and hot coffee in the freezing cold at night for our entire family and friends. We can’t thank Kevin and the resort enough for being so considerate and understanding. The hospitality reflects the care and compassion the staff shows to the customers. We highly recommend everyone to visit their resort while at Point Reyes. Thank you Kevin and Staff once again.

We had a great stay at Tomales Bay Resort last month. Our room was excellent, modern and rustic all at the same time! John the Manager was very helpful and directed us to the Elk reserve where we took in spectacular views of the Ocean. We had a great dinner in Point Reyes Station at Station House Cafe as well. I highly recommend visiting the area.

We just stayed one night.. room was ok with hot water, beds etc. For the price it was not worth it.. the resort is just next to the bay and it has a nice pier to hang out.. Has a kayaking rental right next to it if you are into. Its close to north Beach, drakes, point Reyes lighthouse and to the station.. location wise it was spot on.. I was let down by their doors which did not close properly and the price which I thought was a bit steep. I would have given a 4 if the doors weren't a problem as I really liked their location

We paid $200 per night so def not worth that since it’s basically a nice motel with minimalist amenities. Shower was great. But otherwise the place is OK if u can get it for under $100 a night.

My family and I have been staying at Tomales Bay resort for many many years, my wife and I had our wedding reception here, and stayed here for our honeymoon. We wanted to go out of our way to leave a review specifically for Ryan. Ryan is nothing short of amazing, he has been helpful and attentive to all of our needs which is especially important during these trying times with the pandemic. He has helped us find what we needed in town, and made our stay feel comfortable, and more like home than any other stay that we’ve had thus far. We love this property very much, the resort is very special to us, but Ryan specifically has went above and beyond with service in ways that no other manager has thus far. We will continue coming here for many years I hope, and we hope to see Ryan again as well! We recommend the resort for everyone!

Great and beautiful location. The room we stayed in was a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was closed due to staffing issues and the pool was also closed, we weren’t informed until we arrived. Those are the only reasons for the four star review. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

We loved the resort here. We loved our room, it was very reasonable. This is a very peaceful location. It is a very convenient location just off of 1 highway. The pool is not operational currently, but we didn't come to swim. Our room had a nice little fire place and stunning view of Tomales Bay from our comfy little porch.
