I checked the calendar before coming here. We were happy to see that they were serving a Monday lunch. The space is cheery and appears to flow into another “business” from a previous era. The service was friendly, attentive and generous. The petite menu was thoughtful —variety and seasonal, and everything came out fresh (raw oysters, salad ) or perfect temperature (broiled oysters, soup). The flavors were great! Would love to come again when they are open-open and taking reservations.

Oh man, that lemon butter?? 🍋 amazing on the fresh-caught oysters. I highly recommend getting at least 3 for yourself, or a dozen. Fish sandwich was really fresh, came on an amazing bun, but was under seasoned and dry with all the bread. Add some sauce and an acid element and it’ll be a home run. The service and oysters were incredible so it’s still a 5 star place. Great beverage selection too. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out.

I’ve always passed by while heading up to Tomales Point or on my way back home, but so glad I stopped in after a recent hike for a bite of great seafood and wine. Got the broiled oysters with fermented Fresno chi, garlic and butter and a beautiful Manila clam chowder with a side of bread for sopping up all the liquid. Well curated wine selection, had the rose and orange wine. Both refreshing.

I’m not usually a fan of oysters but this place changed my mind! Came here after hiking at point Reyes and I was quite tired actually so getting the raw and broiled oysters was just the perfect refreshing snack we needed. Not to mention that the service was so so fast (1 minute??) and the food was so fresh. Definitely recommend. Cute outdoor dining too!

Had wonderful food. Oysters were fresh. I recommend the broiled oysters w/Katz butter was delicious! There are picnic tables you eat at right next door, but they have outdoor/indoor seating. We ordered take out and took it to the park and had a great lunch. The park was very pet friendly if you have pets. Great service, food comes out fairly quickly. Friendly staff!

This place is spectacular and I would highly recommend it. Love how clean and fresh everything is, our waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. I would recommend getting an order of bread to start. It is definitely homemade and yummy. You are able to order 3 different types of oysters individually instead of ordering a dozen of them which makes it more affordable. The salmon and steak were very tasty.

Excellent experience. The broiled oysters 3 ways were tasty - and just the right size (really don’t like those ginormous ones you sometimes get). Everything was great, but the standout was the salad with roasted carrot, dates, almonds, and ricotta. Literally might be the best thing I’ve eaten.

There was ample parking. We had an option to order at the counter and bring to the park across or to wait for a table to open up in front. There were about 7 tables outside. Looks like a dog friendly patio. The raw oysters came out quickly and were fresh. The salad had fresh ingredients but was not for me. Broiled oysters with yuzu butter was tasty but not enough citrus for me. There are also two single stall bathrooms.

One of best oyster I ate in my life. We ordered 2 dozen, 6 raw and 18 boiled in three different sauces. All delicious! The only drawback was it’s a bit of a challenge to find food for the kids. The basil ice cream was a hit as well. This is one place I will definitely visit when I’m in Point Reyes!

Delightful and delicious! Very fresh and nice oysters from tomale bay. Toast was great, and bouillabaisse was amazing, but most impressive was clam chowder. It’s not your regular, but real clams delowder 😝

Absolutely amazing oysters - on the small side in size but man, the taste, one of the best we ever had.The staff is friendly and the place is very homy. Plus, the place is located near beautiful national shore line.

Pre-fixed menu, a place you want them making the decisions for you. After a sampler of fresh local oysters, we were presented with the brown butter sage handmade pasta and steak with cilantro sauce. Finished off with an almond brittle with white wine pear and vanilla ice cream.Every bite taken with intention. A meal for an occasion that is 2 hours long and memorable every minute.

Saturday lunch and it was an amazing day outside. This place is a little pricey but the quality of the ingredients and preparation is very high. Had the bowled oysters, Cesar salad and fish and chips. It was all amazing

Not a very extensive menu but what they had was quite tasty. I would have expected a much larger selection of seafood considering where it was located. It was also a little expensive. $190 for two people with tip (no bottle of wine but a couple of drinks each)

We stopped here on our way back from Point Reyes. While it took a while to wait for a table, the service once inside was attentive and prompt. The beer battered fish sandwich was incredible and my friend loved the oysters and clam chowder.

This is my favorite little hidden gem and escape from the Bay Area hustle. The owner is usually present, sometime shucking the oysters himself. All of the staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable of their menu and the area. If you’re early for your reservation, sneak across the street and out to the bay to see the old washed up boat which has become a local landmark.Always look forward to my next visit to Saltwater.

Ambience 4/5Service 1/5Food 3/5Value2/5We came here after a hike in Point Reyes. It’s a cute spot and a nice place to sit.Excited to try the oysters, which were good but $48/dozen. Their prices in general are very high and ultimately not worth it. This ranks in the bottom quartile of dining experiences this year. There were plenty of seats open at 2pm. It took 30 minutes to place an order. There was zero attention and we ran out of water. I asked for more before the meal arrived. I asked again. It finally arrived after we had finished the meal when I asked a third time to the person bussing our dishes.Meanwhile in addition to their high prices (a smash burger will run you $25) they have fees galore!5% for wages3% credit card processing20% for parties of 6 or moreWe left hungry and disappointed. Won’t be back!

Wonderful dinner back in March with their pre fix menu. Best oysters I’ve probably ever had, no wonder since waiter said they were caught that morning. Had to pre pay for dinner, nice space inside with a few outdoor tables. Nice treat after a day of nearby hiking, definitely recommend if can swing it.

Excellent dishes with mainly locally produced foods. The chowder is great, but make sure to get an order of bread to really complete the dish

Delicious oysters and a unique take on clam chowder. Great decor and spacious layout, too. Recommend the Levain bread as well.

Insanely good meal! We stopped by for lunch and we’re blown away by the fresh and flavorful salads. Don’t miss the focaccia, if it’s available. And of course the broiled oysters can’t be beat! They have a wonderful wine menu, too.

Absolutely amazing grilled oysters...the BEST I've ever had. Key, though, is to make sure you get an order of the sourdough bread to go with it. We had one of those meals that we'll talk about for years. I can't wait to return next time we're anywhere remotely close to this place.

Nothing on menu was over the top, service good not great. Very pricey for baked oysters that didn't taste that great. Whole shrimp little over cooked. Sad to say the soup was the hi light

Takeout orders only, with outdoor patio seating. What they don't mention (and I'm not sure if it's because it isn't allowed) is that there are a couple picnic benches in the space behind the restaurant. I thought it was even nicer than the patio, and felt very secluded and close with nature.Their chowder was great, and their oysters were pretty good for the price. However the sourdough bread was amazing! I would go back just for that

Great gathering place along Tomales Bay. Upscale restaurant, lovely decor with a cool outdoor space. A great spot to host friends or a date. Fresh oysters and fish & chips along with a wonderful French wine list.

Limited menu, not a full service eatery, but full service prices. The oysters were quite good as were the soshito peppers. $5 for a side order of toasted bread, $120 for lunch for three without beverages. The fish sandwich was small and in my opinion, uninspiring but a nice filet. Small, pleasant outdoor eating area and pet friendly.
