This place is great normally… I found some product stocked incorrectly. There was a price difference of $7. Price wasn’t honored. Only giving a 3 because our grooming experience with Crystal is always amazing.

I'm not certain what's going on at this Petco, but the guy who helped me (Austin) seemed very stressed out. I'm curious as to why. What could possibly so stressful about selling items for pets? I'm giving it 3 stars because he was efficient and the high quality of the products, but can't give it 5 stars because it's not a comfortable feeling being assisted by someone who so easily displays that much visible stress. If it's too much, he should be replaced by someone who can handle things.

The cashier was nice and friendly while we waited for my rewards to load. I felt bad for the extra wait, but she assured me that every customer who has rewards to load takes a bit of time (not just my rewards).

Just moved to Indio and this was my first time in this Petco. Can I just say the customer service is outstanding. I forgot to get a cart and I had a 25lb bag of dog food that I brought up to the counter and this very kind associate went and got me a cart. I will absolutely be going back to this store. Kind, friendly and efficient.

Vetco-inside of petco- did a wellness checkup, all standard vaccinations and a rabies shot for about $130.00. a good deal.All the staff treated my dog and and I like family.I would give 10 stars if I could.

This is the best Petco I've been to in over 13 years of being a doggie dad. The employees are so awesome and actually care. These negative reviews don't even make sense. Some new people were hired after the pandemic. Give them a chance! No store anywhere is going to have 100% amazing employees! 🙄

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but Petco needs to change the way they handle dog kibble bags so that they're not creating air holes in the bags. In 2 separate kibble purchases, I had to exchange ALL of the bags because there was a small hole in each of the bags - which I learned happens because the staff is told to "throw the bags on the floor before placing them on the shelves so that they'll lay flat. Well, it may look nice, but if a small hole is created in the bag, the freshness and quality of the food begins to deteriorate.

The fish aquariums all looked nicely maintained and cared for. Didn't see any dead fish. Can tell a lot about how a pet store is and how good it is, by their fish aquariums

I would not recommend getting any pets, specifically guinea pigs, from this Petco location. I have now witnessed two accounts of male guinea pigs being placed with females, while they are supposed to be separated by sex. The first time it happened was in 2021. I bought a guinea pig who was labeled as female by the store, just to discover that it was male a week later. The second incident happened this past week. My mother noticed last week that in with the females was a noticeably male guinea pig. She notified an employee, who immediately went to report it to the store's animal specialist. Anyone with knowledge on guinea pigs knows that pregnancy can occur early in these animal's lives and is very dangerous past a certain age. My mom and sibling went back today and found that the male had not been relocated. They notified an employee yet again, who was told by the "specialist" that this wasn't a concern. They brought this info to the attention of the employee in charge of ordering animals to the store, and he was very concerned, having been left in the dark about this repetitive problem. Unwanted guinea pig pregnancies only contribute to the current overrun shelter crisis, harms the health of affected sows, and leads to more of these sweet animals being neglected. I sincerely question the knowledge and ethics possessed by this store's current so-called "specialist." There are plenty of online rehoming groups filled with guinea pigs in the area right now if you're looking to add one (or a few) to your home, but if you do decide to purchase a guinea pig from this location PLEASE make sure to take it to an actual veterinarian ASAP!

The grooming here used to be great with Andrew and Debbie. Not sure where they went, but my dog's new groomer Juls has an attitude problem. My dog would yelp and cry when she saw me, and Juls thought it was okay to let her do that and let it go on and on. Also, when someone says Good Morning, you'd respectfully say it back, but she barely acknowledged us. We had last minute schedule changes from her, ie 8am to 830am. This was on her end, not ours so we would show up at 8am (because the change would happen when we were already on the way) and she would make us wait outside until 830am. Disappointing service all around. I really hope she was better to my dog than she was to us.

I usually only go to Petco for medicine due to the fact that the pet food is expensive. The employee who helped me out is Austin. Super sweet, friendly, great customer service. Made it super easy and help me to find exactly what I needed

This review isn't about Petco but about Vetco. Vetco advertises as a "clinic," it's NOT a clinic - it's a misrepresented and shabbily run veterinarian inside a Petco.The young ladies who checked me in were very nice - but the vet herself was surly and unpleasant.The "health check" AND vaccinations took all of 3 minutes. Max.The price of the so-called health check was $93, and the vaccines were added on top of that. I could've gone to a real veterinarian for the $124 and change the visit cost.My 8 year old chihuahua, who I've had since she was 5 months old, had NEVER had a negative reaction to vaccines until this one. She wouldn't eat or drink all day and night and her face puffed up that night. Thankfully, she was all good the next morning.I should've walked out when the vet's assistant told me it was policy that a dog couldn't have all of the vaccines at once because a dog they'd vaccinated 2 weeks previously had died.If I wasn't disabled with a quite meager income, I wouldn't return for the rabies vaccination for which I've already paid.I recommend NO ONE take their animal/s here.

Let me preface th by saying that this is by far my favorite Petco and everyone that works there is extremely pleasant and very friendly and very helpful. They always have what I'm looking for and if by chance, they run out, they usually get it in the following week. So I have absolutely no complaints about the store employees or the grooming salon because they are phenomenal. They have always treated my dogs with respect. Now, for my 3 star review. We have always had all of our dogs trained by Petco for years. And normally we have Wendy and Palm Springs train our dogs. However, since my surgery It's harder for me to drive to Palm Springs. So we thought we would give Indio a try. The trainer that they have in there who I believe her name is Ricky is the most unapproachable, unfriendly, rude and condescending dog trainer I have ever met in my life. She has no personality she does not engage with people if you try to talk to her, she just does not engage whatsoever, she's just there and for whatever reason, and is not a friendly person. I will never bring my dogs to the store to have her train them. my dogs are even hesitant around her. And normally they are friendly with everybody. But when she went to pet my dog last week. He backed away, which is a telling sign for me.So I will take the uncomfortable drive to Palm Springs to have wendy train yet, another one of our dogs. . while I was in the store today. There was a confrontation between one of the girls that works there and Ricky (and I do not want to say this other girls name because she is very sweet and friendly and she did nothing wrong.) And I just couldnt believe how rude and nasty ricky was to her and infront of customers!!!! We have asked for Ricky's help a couple of times and it is just a very uncomfortable and unpleasant situation to be in. But like I said, we will always shop here. The grooming salon and management and all the other employees are just amazing. But we will never deal with Ricky. It's very sad that she walks around with this attitude because I know a lot of people really like the way petco trains dogs. And I've heard some horror stories about Ricky which is one of the reasons I was hesitant to begin with. But I wanted to give her a chance. And she really lived up to the nightmare stories I've heard which is a shame. To endpoint else keep up the amazing work. Yall are blessings!

The grooming department here is incompetent. I've been taking my dog to Petco grooming back home (VA) for years with no issues. First time taking my dog here for a quick nail-trim service and I'm told that my dog is "too aggressive" and that I can't bring her back because she is a "safety issue". My dog is an Aussie and is overly friendly and has never been described as aggressive. The only issue my dog has ever had with grooming is the hair dryer sound and I've told groomers not to use the hair dryer - no big deal.To me, it appears that this grooming dept is in need of basic dog handling training because they obviously don't know what they are doing causing my dog to be afraid of them. They would rather blame the dog rather than themselves. Never going back to this store for anything.

Every employee we bumped into helped us with all our questions. They were all so nice and helpful. One of the employee’s helped us get everything we need for our dogs. He was our cashier , and even helped us take a huge dog crate to our car. Best experience I’ve ever had at a pet store. I will be going again and I will recommend others to go to this location. The store employees are all just so welcoming so happy and positive and all are so much help!

Really great store , everything is nicely organized , many common products are easy to find. When I visited here all the staff greeted me really well and were always attentive in case I needed something. I got to talk to Debbie ome of the hair stylist/groomers , and she is a very nice person. We talked about the services they provide there and she answered my questions to anything related with grooming. I would trust her with my pooch .

I went in for a fish the woman that “helped” started making faces before I even asked her for help. I’m not giving out her name because I’m not trying to be a d**k but a couple of employees there need to work on their customer service because she did not have a problem standing there talking to the other girl but she sure did have one selling me the fish. I might not even go back to that location. For the heavy set girl with the ear gauges you know who you are!

I use to live in Indio and have since moved to Palm Desert. Because of the excellent service that we receive from the grooming department (Andrew) especially I won't go to any other Petco or groomer. Andrew has been so caring with both my dogs who are really nervous when it comes to bath time. Unfortunately, one of my dogs just passed away and it was really hard to tell Andrew. He was so gentle when I brought my other dog in for grooming. He understood the situation and soothed my dogs anxiety. For that I am ever so thankful. I have always been treated so wonderfully by the employees at the Indio store. Great work!
