We stopped here on our way home from Crowley Lake. It's such an awesome ice cream shop. We spoke to the owners who were really sweet. They make all their ice cream on Tue, Wed, and Thur and are closed on those days. Open on Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon.The ice cream was amazing! They have a lot of different unusual flavors to choose from. This is definitely a place you'll want to visit. I know we'll be back 🍦 😊The business is very neat and tidy with very clean bathrooms 🚻 👌

We happened to stop in looking for a restroom and not only found a super clean restroom but met the owners, Paul and Joyce. Incredibly kind, wonderful people who make their own homemade ice cream. They bring in the highest quality cream, all natural -no carrageenan, no high fructose corn syrup. Best tasting ice cream and flavors! This is a must stop when passing through Independence. What a treat!

In this extremely hot day of 100 degrees we decided to stop off at this quaint cute ice cream location. The owners were super nice and gave us the low down on why they chose to move from orange county to Independence after retiring from the landscaping business. They built this little shop themselves! Amazing talent! And they make the most amazing ice cream! We couldn't get every single flavor but I guess in time we will because it was just sooo good. We wanted to try their honey lavendar, unfortunately we got there just after they sold their last scoop. So we got Pistacci-oh (yummmm), apple pie (seriously tasted just like a slice of pie with chunks of Apple, and a scoop of Coconut ice cream (smooth and rich). Another customer there said that the cherry ice cream was AMAZING! So I'm gonna try that the next time I'm driving thru. If you're in the area and lucky enough to drive thru on a day that they're open you have to stop here. They only open on certain days of the week. I think they're keeping the other days to themselves so they can either work on building their home or enjoy their retired life in the little town of 300 population.

Some of the BEST ice cream that I have ever had, clean establishment, baked goods and GREAT conversation with the proprietors. This is a wonderful establishment, a must visit during the season (check hours of operation).

One of the best ice cream I have ever had in my life! The flavors are so unique and tasty, it was so hard to pick, definitely need to go back to try all of them! This was the best ice cream I have ever had. They also have non-dairy options or- if you have trouble with lactose and really want some of their delicious homemade ice cream, just ask for a tab...that's right, they know how irrisistable their flavors are and have lactaid chewable tablets for those people like me with milk product sensitive stomachs 😁. From now on, I am stopping here on my trips to and from the Eastern Sierras.

Oh MY… this is a must stop… homemade on premise with the highest of standards! We had the apricot and the apple pie ice cream. Enjoyed a nice conversation with the owner and a local who dropped in for a pint!! If you’re passing through, I certainly recommend a stop!

A trip back in time, when ice cream was handmade. They make their own ice cream, served in cups not cones, though they can place a cone on top with a request. A completely different palatal experience for those accustomed to smooth store-bought ice cream. Five stars for creativity, remote location, delectable offerings.

I usually don’t enjoy ice cream as I find most to be too heavy and sweet. I REALLY liked the ice cream here and enjoyed most flavors I tried. All flavors were super unique and packed with high quality ingredientsNow I wish I live nearby and can come more often

Hidden gem that we found on our way back from Mount Whitney. Lots of interesting flavors and I recommend to all that are coming through Independence CA (Couldn’t take a pic of my ice cream as I ate it too fast)

I’ve been coming here regularly since they’ve opened because the ice cream is phenomenal! Original flavors you won’t easily find somewhere else, shakes, floats, non-dairy options, pints available in lots of flavors. It’s a colorful outdoor place with lots of beautiful flowers around. Sometimes ordering can be an awkward experience. My go to choice is the chocolate shake and then a scoop of something new on the side.

The ice cream is hand made and very creamy. I love that they serve the ice cream with wooden spoons rather than plastic. I do think bamboo spoons would be a bit better just due to renewability and to avoid the bitter taste that comes with wooden spoons. The ice cream we tried was mint chocolate chip and raspberry lemon. The lemon was extremely tart, just how i like it 😋 I would definitely recommend this place

Eastern Sierra ice cream co. Is amazing!!! You have to go here! Paul was so kind serving our ice cream, gave my family the best ideas for what to try and what scoops go well together. High Fructose corn syrup really upsets my stomach but their ice cream does NOT have that terrible ingredient, all natural and so tasty! Highly recommend! Thank y’all

My family loved to travel back to Mammoth Lakes and we passed by Eastern Sierra Cream Company - try their recommended “fruteria” flavor( made of cucumber, mango, mint and jalapeño) - something new to your palate with less sugar 😍😍😍

Best homemade ice cream I have had in a long time!! They buy all of their own ingredients, even if that means driving hours each week out of the valley. Cute little shop with very nice and outgoing staff. You can tell they love their job! I ordered 2 scoops of their 'black rock,' a fudgy, chocolatey flavor. If you don't know what to choose (and like chocolate), I'd recommend that one. But you can't go wrong!

The first time I went here I spent 40minutes raving about it to my partner. Such good ice cream!! Such a great texture and not too sweet or dense. They have so many fun and unique flavors. I can never decide which ones to get when I visit. I’ve maybe only tried 6 flavors so far and they’re all so good and better than most creameries I’ve been to!! Plus the owner Paul is so kind.I would recommend water sprayers or something outside near the cute seating area because even the ice cream can’t beat that Independence heat.

What a wonderful hidden gem in the shadow of the Eastern Sierras! It’s definitely in the top 3 ice cream experiences I’ve ever had… absolutely amazing. I wish I lived closer as I would have bought a dozen pints to take home. Will be back…
