I always like to bring my dog Belle there so she can go shopping and visit with her friends. Staff is very friendly and will walk around and discuss products, prices and options. They have a section of aquarium supplies that are essential. They are looking into ordering what I need in bigger bottles. The aquarium pictured here is mine not theirs. Good to know they have what I need on short notice. Support your local stores NOT AMAZON.

pretty nice store. i had never been until today. i had an emergency and had to take my kitten a couple doors down from this store, but didn’t have a carrier for him and needed one, especially since i was taking him on the bus. an hour before his appointment, i stopped by the store to get one. the lady was kind and helpful, but the cardboard carrier i purchased as a temporary carrier was pretty much destroyed and unusable within ten minutes of having him in there. the handles tore from the weight, and my kitten managed to force his way out of the box. i ended up having to carry him by hand AND the box, which contained a toy and my jacket for padding. stopped by the store again a minute before his appointment to purchase an actual carrier. a bit disappointed because it was $16 down the drain that i can’t get back. i found out a few minutes ago by searching the box online that the instability of the box, and it’s ultimate destruction, was because it was folded incorrectly in the store. i had no idea. if anyone reading this gets the cardboard carrier, please look online at pictures of it folded so you can fold the handles correctly. the way they have them in-store is not stable and will tear if you attempt to carry an animal in there. my kitten is four months old and doesn’t weigh more than maybe 4lbs. just be careful. that’s $16 wasted, and then $44.99 for the normal carrying crate. :')

The folks at work here are the kindest people. I went in today to to buy some dog food but they don't carry it. However they can order it and it will be here next week. So for in the meantime they gave me some stuff to hold them over. How nice is that?! In addition their prices are extremely fair. I was able to get so many treats for my dogs. I'm so happy that this place is here I could literally cry tears of joy. If you have a dog this is where you need to come.

I just got my first rescue two days ago, he was super under weight when brought to the shelter and he was not super fond of the food or treats I got him from pet co. They helped me find the perfect treat after many different samples and food that he absolutely devours and is much healthier for him! Not only that but they helped measure him for a crate that he adores and took to right away and an anti-pull harness that to makes walking him a dream!! Super impressed and will definitely be coming back!!

Once upon a time IB Pet was my favorite, convenient place to go for my dogs food, washing products and treats.It is no longer my favorite and I will not be back. The shampoo and conditioner I have been purchasing Zymox Advanced Enzymatic Pet Shampoo and Conditioner are both $23 here BEFORE taxes.I check online as I am limited on cash today and this whole time I could have gone to Wal Mart or even Pet Smart and got them for $14.99 each plus tax.I LOVE supporting small businesses or local ones but, not when they rip me off. Wow.

This is our new go-to store for our puppy's nutritional and playtime needs. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly animal lovers. Wide variety of goods for dogs, cats and birds. We love the healthier and more natural alternatives available here compared to many of the products usually found in the corporate chain pet stores. Be sure to sign up for their Loyalty Program when you visit! We can't wait to shop here again.

The go-to spot in Imperial Beach! Super friendly staff and conveniently located right off the silver strand. They also have a good rewards program for most of the items in the store. So if you buy X of the same item, you get 1 free!

Please do not ask me every time I go in there for my name and email. You can’t have it. The girl asked me once then twice and then said it looks like you’re going to have to pay full price. I would rather pay full price and go to a different store than have an owner push his employees for my info. Learn how to run your business without having your new employees harass customers who have been going there since the inception. I think I’ll take my business elsewhere and I’ll check back in a year to see if the owner tries the same cheap tactics again.

The folks here are all super nice and willing to help you anyway they can. My pups are on a special diet and can find all things here.We take advantage of their Friday deal 10% off frozen bones. Nothing but the best for my spoiled pups.

Absolutely great staff! These people are the best. They're not a chain, who hire just anybody. These people are knowledgeable, and enjoy what they do. Prices are pretty consistent with what you'll get just about anywhere, and they're willing to custom order products for you, too. Never be afraid to walk in and ask them questions.

I came in to decide what size food I would like to start with while transitioning with my dog. I usually like to buy smaller bags and buy as I go for the freshness. One of the ladies from the counter went popped out to have a conversation with my infant and asked us if we needed help. I told her it's just us deciding on the size as we have a specific space and we don't want to have the large bag sitting for a month +. She just gave us a weird look and went on about buying an airtight container that is for the large bag for the food. I told her we just want something small for an area that we have for our dog.. he literally lasts three weeks on each bag and she then would mention "since our space was small" but in a tone that wasn't too friendly. It just feels invasive to have someone put in their two scents and if you don't follow their advice that they just give you weird looks. It's just insulting and I never had that experience with the IB pet store on Telegraph. I only came here since the food was sold-out there. I ended up just getting an Amazon subscription for every 3 weeks and we will see how it goes. I use to give my dog raw and we are trying something else out and just want to give him fresh kibble.

This is the absolutely BEST pet store in all of San Diego HANDS DOWN. The staff is incredible, they are sweet, smart and most of all LOVE YOUR PET LIKE IT WAS THEIR OWN. I have never been in a better store, and I mean any store, not just pet stores. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. They take time to answer questions and seem very interested in getting customers what they need. I never feel pressured or like a bother. These people are eager to help, and they accept returns happily if the customer is not satisfied. I cannot say enough good things about this store and its staff other than that they really love their jobs as well as our pets.

When one of them wasnt sure if she was covering all the basis, she made sure to double check with another employee who had an additional suggestion accompanied by her own testimonial. IB Pet is a wonderful local business. They have a wide variety of QUALITY foods, supplements, supplies, treats, etc. My girl dog, Yzma is bonkers for the frozen/raw bones they sell here! Most prices are market comparable, and the items that are tip top quality or hard to obtain are only slightly pricier than online- the extra $2 - $5 you'll spend for these items is well worth the quality of care and personal attention the staff happily give you...... Once, I asked a cashier a solid ten minute block of questions about multiple products. Her manager was delighted to help me as well. I chose one of the simpler, lower cost items (stupid budget!); in exchange receiving genuine thanks and ne'er a dirty look.....I am always excited to shop here, and the Chula Vista location is just as nice! 💙

IB Pet (Imperial Beach) is amazing and the staff has always gone above and beyond for customer service. I just came in to help find solutions for my dogs allergies and I can’t tell you how helpful Sarah was in giving me the complete explanation of what my dog might be allergic to. She even shared her own personal experiences and opened my eyes to so many factors that I didn’t even think contributed. I love IB Pet and I always feel like the staff know what I’m looking for, even when I don’t.

Have been a loyal customer for over 2 years - they claim to offer price matching, and in the past always have as well as honored their military discount. Today they were not able to offer military discount on a price match, the reason cited would be that they would take a loss- it was not offered to meet in the middle or sell the product at cost therefore not taking a loss. Not to mention other stores in San Diego offer the same food at a lower cost and honor a Military discount - I probably spent $1200+ at this store in the last year. And this item is the only one that I have asked to price match because it is $12/bag higher than another independent shop.
