The staff are always friendly at this location, but they are never at the cash register when I am ready to check out.I’ve noticed at this location as well that they are frequently out of items and the shelves are pretty bare.They have a lot of fish for sale, but not too many other pets.Layout is great and the store is always clean.There is also a self dog wash.

Nice,clean, organized store with friendly staff. I have hamsters, and they have a rather small selection. That was the only disappointment. For a dog or cat owner they are great.

Close to beach in Huntington! My puppy has an allergic reaction to sand. These people were very helpful! They gave me suggestions and walked me thru the store pointing out the products they suggested. I would have been totally lost w/out their help! No otr place could have been more help!!!

I haven't personally been here, but a lady I know, posted a video of her white puppy (maltese,I think). The dog looked like he was groomed by a butcher and certainly not a professional. It was really awful to see that this is acceptable by ANYONE! Do your employees even learn to groom first? The lady that brought her dog here, should never have been charged a penny. Shame on the groomer that did this!!!!! The dog was even shaved down in various places with patches of beautiful fur, just GONE!!!!!!

Very kind employees that are always willing to help you out! Wide selection of "off brand" foods (not your typical purina, science diet, etc) that have better ingredients to help your fur babies get the best nutrients possible. I always shopped at PetSmart but Petco is my new go to now since they carry quite a few good options that are healthy for your pets!

This Petco and others I have been to are clean and don't give me asthma like other stores. They treated the animals with respect and were helpful and have a good policy for a free vet visit within 30 says of purchasing the pet.

Great spot to get food and pet toys. They got healthy looking reptiles. Guinea pigs and lots of fish. Frozen snake food, live roaches for reptiles. The fish selection is pretty cool tho.

I am so disappointed with this store :-( GREAT PEOPLE!!! But they treat their leopard geckos horribly! It almost looked like they were dead inside the tank —> their eyes looked to be decaying and they seemed malnourished. As for the rest of the store, it’s very organized and stuff! But please take care of the animals!!!! Jesus loves you guys!! ✝️ 💐

Fantastic store for dogs lot of great and fun stuff . The brands they carry are somewhat limited compare to the pet store in fountain valley however the store is nice clean fully renovated and very well maintain. Whoever owns this location keeps it organize and take pride .its well care for . Staff is very helpful and friendly . My dog loves coming to this place . They got super cute leashes and outfit . They also got a fantastic machine for dog tags if needed .i just wish they would carry more natural / health brand . Lot of it was out of stock and i dont like switching food on my dog constantly .

The Huntington Beach Petco has really special people. They are so sqrt and truly do care. I took my 3 dogs to use the self dog wash area. I had never used this before and the employees were super helpful and the bath area was very easy to use and perfectly laid out. Seriously you can't beat it for $20.00. I will be back and thanks to the two handsome young men that helped me... one was working the register and helping customers (myself included), he also helped me get my old girl, my 13yr old black lab who was scared in the tub and the other super employee worked in the vet area. He actually lifted my Big American Bully into the tub. My Bully is not familiar with stairs. My fault. I will correct that asap! Thank you both. Your store Manager should be very proud to have great employees like you!!

Petco had the products and services I needed. My shopping was very efficient as an associate was available to assist me and check-out was a fairly reasonable wait. I intend to return soon to use the self-serve pet-bathing tubs that are offered.

Awesome place to get my goldfishes. They don't have a large selection, but for regular goldfishes they had plenty of color to choose from. The sizes weren’t too big, even the large ones seemed kind of small.

This was my first visit to the grooming salon in about 7 years. I recently fired my groomer due to the fact that my 2 girl Shih Tzus who had long hair, had their top knots cut off to about 1/3 of what they were. I had not asked for any cut.I was pleasantly pleased that Sarah listened intently to me as I explained what I wanted for my girls, and delivered greatly. I have received compliments for the results, and will be back in a few weeks for round 2. I highly recommend you giving the grooming salon a try.

I couldn't be more disappointed. I needed to buy prescription food for my cat. I had my prescription with me, but because I didn't have the bar code that is supposed to be provided by the in-house vet office, the sales representative wouldn't sell it to me. When I said, I understand the law requires a prescription, which I have, why won't you sell me the food, the service rep said, "That might be the law, but our policy states that we have to scan the bar code which you don't have." I'd submit that it isn't a policy issue, but an operations failure point to not be able to facilitate a transaction when your customer has the necessary legal documentation to buy the food. I was forced to feed my cat food that it shouldn't have, and will shift all of my purchases to Chewy. "Petco, where pets can't go to get their food" should be their new tagline.

Don’t take your dog to get groomed on Adams and Magnolia. I don’t usually write reviews but grooming staff in Huntington Beach Petco is horrible. If I could give Zero stars, I would. I tried twice to bring my dog here, first time I thought ok maybe bad service was one time thing. My mistake, second time was worse. I witnessed them mistreating people’s dogs. They aggressively handle dogs if they can’t get the dog to hold still. They refuse dogs by telling owners that the dog doesn’t behave and can’t return. How is the grooming department still in business?They tried to tell me that my dog is incontinent. I asked them if they were qualified to make that diagnosis? Their response was “we can refuse any dog”. I told them he likely is nervous and has never had incontinence problems. I told them they shouldn’t be giving diagnosis if they’re not qualified to do so.They were clearly frustrated with my feedback and instead told me my dog can’t return.
